Interesting video. So nice to see a young person, especially a young lady like this taking an interest in a classic tractor. 😃

Yup, my 63 1010 RUS had a yellow transmission on it. Green, yellow, then green again. That is when I learned about the industrial version of the 1010. The previous owner left good enough alone. I soda blasted it and now it is green.
I love my little 1010. Never disappoints and easy to work on. Wish TH-cam would let me post a pic.

That’s a darn good father. Wish everyone could experience what having good parents is like. A few of my friends grew up with drug addicted or alcoholic parents and it really destroyed those poor kids. Good to see a father spending time with his kid and teaching her things. Props to the guy. Also... beautiful tractor!

My now 27 year old daughter pretty much grew up in the shop with me too. We bonded over everything from fixing the lawn mower to restoring old cars, trucks and tractors. One day, I brought home a beat up, worn out 1975 GMC Beau James pickup. When she walked in after school, she took one look at it and immediately claimed it as her own. From there, the story is pretty much the same as this one. These days, we, along with my twin 5 year old grandsons, have lots of fun driving and showing the Beau James along side my "bookend" 1975 GMC Gentleman Jim.

Nice tractor. I love the Father & daughter bonding. My 1 concern is the child's long hair. I have worked as a mechanic & basic safety rules require no loose clothing, no loose jewelry & everyone must tie back their hair if it dangles past their face. If anything is dangling it can get caught in moving parts & pull you in.

It may not be super rare since it's an industrial model how ever it being and industrial that's not a bare back and has a 3pt , now that has to be rare and special!

Very cool!!! Great to see a father and daughter working on a worthy project these days! You need a mower for the yard or a blade to grade the driveway on it though... BTW I have a JD 8630 I will make you a deal on... :)

Great old tractor, glad it's been saved- but it's got the wrong fuel cap, the red cap is diesel, either the red rubber peels off or you can get a cap without it, gasoline 1010s just had a silver metal cap.

I had a John Deere model A that had red paint underneath the green paint. It had been "restored" before I got it and the Bondo was falling off. Underneath it was what looked like red paint. And to top that, the serial number was in between a 1950 or 1951. I believe it was made before the new year. Ive tried looking stuff up but didn't find anything. Am I crazy?

Hello my fellow tractor people. I have a question and hope some one can answer. I have a w4 it does not have a starter it has a metal pole with 2 90 degree bends and a round thing that goes in the hole under the grill. I bought a coil and alternator from Amazon. After I got them I found out that there are both 6 and 12 volt systems. The ones I got are 12 volt. I decided to go ahead and put them on the w4. I ran a wire from the bolt on the back of the alternator to the positive on the coil. And a wire from the negative to the bolt on the distributor turned the crank for 2 days then realized I needed initial power so I taped wires to a 12 volt drill battery. Cranked it and it fired up. After all that here is my question. What will happen if I keep using it this way. Can 6 volt points work with 12 volt stuff.
