The Andover footage is possibly the first tornado footage I saw, sitting there with my mom on the couch at 4 years old, and that's where it all began for me. I remember seeing the Gull Lake footage very near the same timeframe though.
The Manitoba one might be the craziest couple seconds of tornado footage I’ve ever seen; when it actually picks up and carries an entire house. Absolutely wild

Very strange, he was probably after causing his wife to be where she was, part of the stairs fell on her, she was on the way down to the bunker, probably tried to get her husband when it happened or call out to him
By his own account, Clem straight up thought his house was going to withstand it because it was old and had held up to strong winds in the past. A fun quote from his interview with Fox 6 Now Milwaukee: "I saw part of my roof blow past the window, and I thought, 'Well maybe it’s not gonna hang on quite as well as I hoped it would.' And, then, the floor started moving, and I figured, no I don’t think it’s gonna hang on at all."

I’ve lived in Birmingham all my 60 years and of course been through MANY scary storms and tornado warnings but I can honestly say that April 27th 2011 was truly terrifying. RIP to all the victims 😢😢😢 Thank you for your amazing videos🌪️😎
For the overpass thing, it's not about girders or not, it's about the venturi effect. Forcing wind into a confined spot only strengthens the wind and makes wind tunnels, the girders may have been passable for that f2, but 300 mph winds forced into an overpass is a whole different story.
Boundary effects far outweigh the venturi effect. Wind speeds at the edge where there are girders offering resistance will result in much lower wind speeds. Like he said it's all about whether you have something solid between you and the wind. A bridge truss is excellent cover. Modern pre-stressed concrete designs don't offer you much.
The Clarence Schultz video gets me every time. Now that you've put up the address, I've been cruising around the neighborhood via google earth to see the before and after. Soo creepy seeing the shed and transformer pole in his back yard plus the house in the back ground before all hell broke loose.
I appreciate your severe weather and tornado videos a lot. especially this one as it uncovered so many memories from digging through TH-cam trying to find every bit of tornado footage we could. I'm autistic, and I have grown up in a place where tornados don't happen often at all (Delaware), and as a teen hyper fixated on tornadoes, it sucks. watching your videos taught me all sorts of new things about tornadoes, as well as make them easier to understand. keep up the great work dude! :)
You should make a video talking about the plainfield F5 tornado. It is a very significant tornado and significant event in my family, it put so many rules and changes in place and started to shape new satellite weather systems, and drills.
Swegle I love your videos, I’m obsessed with tornadoes and storms. I love your style of making videos and your editing. Your attitude and everything is amazing. Keep it up! ❤
I've read that the tornado in the overpass video actually ended up missing the overpass entirely. You can kind of see it move off to the left in the video. All that wind screaming through is the inflow into the tornado, which I would say makes it even scarier because that video doesn't actually show the full force of the tornadic winds.
And we now all know from other tornado weather experts, an overpass is not good for taking shelter under. The wind is accelerated as the tornado pulls it under the overpass.
The video at Albion has one line that makes me giggle. The man behind Davida hollers to someone downstairs, "Ya oughtta see it! Come on up now!" The very next second lightning hits close and the resulting thunderclap is insane. The timing couldn't have been better. Regarding honorable mentions, I'd have included that footage at Dallas in 1957 (The clip with the big pieces of debris) and a suburban shot of the 1987 Edmonton tornado. When asked by a child what he's looking at, the cameraman at Edmonton replies "That's a cloud. That's a funnel cloud." Just as chill as you please. Superb video! My favorite clip got the first slot!

There are a few entries that I would add to this list: 1) The Mike Morgan Footage from the 1999 Moore Tornado 2) The 2013 Moore Tornado footage (I can't remember the storm chaser's name) 3) The Elie, Canada F5 drillbit footage 4) The 2011 Joplin EF 5 unedited broadcast
One my my favs is JOPLIN, MO, Tornado, 22 May 2011 uploaded by some British stormchases. The element of uncertainty, then urgency and foreboding is just a heck of a feel. Keep up the good work, Sam!
My favorite tornado videos are the infamous McConnell AFB tornado video, and the 1999 Bridge Creek tornado video that was filmed in a backyard a mile or two away from the tornado path. (even though it wasn't on the list).
Any tornado video that has the blaring siren audible while the tornado starts forming or is already on the ground is already a favorite tornado video of mine!
The Clem video is the GOAT tornado video, in my opinion. He filmed the massive tornado hitting him. Without freaking out. You see it from a distance, then come right to him. The house across the street explodes and then hits his house, somehow he doesn't freak out. I've watched every tornado video I can think of. Nothing tops it, in my opinion. Love the video, though. Your content is awesome! It makes me want to make more tornado videos. 😆
Yeah I like how the house in front of him explodes and he doesn't even flinch. Only starts to move when the window and room he's in start to collapse. Absolute Unit.
Have you seen the video by Rojo Fern on that subject? If not I HIGHLY recommend it, he is one of the absolute best YTers I've ever seen. He did a video on the scale of mushroom clouds that is hands down the best video on this platform.
#8 has always been my favorite. It undergoes so many personality changes. Big wedge to giant whispy creature, then hops up into the clouds and comes down as an angry stove pipe and then ropes out. It’s the creepiest of all to me and I absolutely love it and I can’t believe it’s on your list. I thought nobody cared about this one 🙌
I love how you included the first video….I remember watching that one in the 90’s on TLC when it was still a learning channel and not a train wreck and of course, the Weather Channel before it became a global warming clown show. Bob is running away from the tornado, warning about staying away from the windows, and he never puts down his beer. Thanks again for another extraordinary tornado video.
Thanks for sharing! I filmed a tornado on September 8th, 2010 in Dallas, TX. The circulating descending cloud went right over the roof of my work building as I was walking to my car, so I pulled out my iPhone 4 and started recording, fascinated. It touched down on the other side of the highway a good distance away (like, I was very safe where I was; others got better/closer pictures). And then I found out that while I was recording it, it destroyed a warehouse I drove by every day and around the time I usually passed through the area. It was a 115mph EF2. Yes, I am thankful I decided to record it vs being in it LOL.
This is the best bro , “Rocket money sent a notification saying ‘large purchase alert’ and I was like uh-oh did someone hack into my account, but nah it was just my wife at target.” That is surprisingly hilarious.
I remember the 2011 super tornadoes. I was about 3 or 4, living in cullman, up in north alabama. I just remember being stuck in our bathroom all day since we didn’t have a storm shelter living out as far off the road as we did. We were in the bathroom for hours, with my mom listening to James spann the entire day. Usually with tornadoes she made(still does) us go into the bathroom just to be safe, but she was genuinely afraid and for good reason. We were all praying for the tornadoes to go around us. They hit cullman hard too. You can Google pictures of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church that got destroyed in downtown cullman. James Spann is a local legend, dude is the best meteorologist in our state, hands down. Always turn 33/40 on whenever a storm headed through.
When the EF3/EF4 tornado hit Bowling Green on the same night that Mayfield, KY got hit, it was completely silent!!! There was no roar or sound at all from our crawl space under the stairs!! Our back fences were all ripped away, houses 50 feet away were collapsing, the upstairs bedroom was being ripped to shreds; silent!!
The SEMO tornado shelter video from the April 2, 2006 outbreak gave me chills. Edit: If you don't know what i am talking about, here's the video. th-cam.com/video/hCoKXYYZodA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JJuoITEv5kM0ApqZ

I always enjoy your work. You have great camera presence and a calm but authoritative voice. Your research is thorough and well presented. Even the way you mention your sponsor is done well. It doesn't sound forced or phony. Thank you!
6:15 to 6:18 is absolute beauty. I get dry mouth from watching your videos from mouth agape-mind blown moments like this throughout. Thanks again Swegle! I'm catching up a lil on some vids I missed, cheers man
The fairdale Illinois one has got to be my favorite tornado video, its just so eerie and honestly scared me when i first watched it.. even still it kind of gives me anxiety
There are a few entries that I would add to this list:
1) The Mike Morgan Footage from the 1999 Moore Tornado
2) The 2013 Moore Tornado footage (I can't remember the storm chaser's name)
3) The Elie, Canada F5 drillbit footage
4) The 2011 Joplin EF 5 unedited broadcast
This is the best channel I've discovered hahaha. Keep up the good work
One my my favs is JOPLIN, MO, Tornado, 22 May 2011 uploaded by some British stormchases. The element of uncertainty, then urgency and foreboding is just a heck of a feel. Keep up the good work, Sam!
I saw a vid of some european guy reacting to your tornado siren vid, also, congrats on the sponsorship!! Happy to see ya flourishing 😊❤
Your tornado videos always blow me away.
Andover 2022 is starting to turn into a classic tbh
tornado videos were like the first things i watched on youtube back in the day around 2007-8 when i was 5-6 yrs old
My favorite tornado videos are the infamous McConnell AFB tornado video, and the 1999 Bridge Creek tornado video that was filmed in a backyard a mile or two away from the tornado path. (even though it wasn't on the list).
Any tornado video that has the blaring siren audible while the tornado starts forming or is already on the ground is already a favorite tornado video of mine!
Ever since I saw the “get up under the girders!” Video as a kid I always look for them too! I’ve never seen one in NC.
My day gets x100 times better when Swegle uploads!
It makes me feel tingly all over!
Why do you people beg for hearts & likes
I can't WAIT for the top 10 famous tornado chaser videos.
I think it was stated that he was in shock and accepted his fate once he realized he couldn't do anything
I figured he was in the freeze part of a fear response.
He must be in complete shock
When Sweagle uploads I watch immediately
Always look forward to your videos.
Best turnado videos on TH-cam!
I’d love to see you do a video on the tallest tornados ever captured/recorded. Like the height of the funnel from ground to sky.
Have you seen the video by Rojo Fern on that subject? If not I HIGHLY recommend it, he is one of the absolute best YTers I've ever seen. He did a video on the scale of mushroom clouds that is hands down the best video on this platform.
@@NefvilleRojo is one of those rare gems you happen to stumble across at 3 in the morning. I just hope he sticks with it because he's so good at it.
@@darksu6947 💯💯
Great video! I love to see new videos you post! I'd like to see the Lemont, IL, on 6/13/1976. It was a monster & had a strange path.
New sub man, REALLY like your content. A bit mad I found you so late.
It’s always a good day when swegle posts
We need a part 2, or even part 3 or 4, there are so many famous tornado videos, and maybe even news footage.
yes please!!!! 100% agree!!
Swegle letting his wife going on a little shopping spree is so cute 🤭
agreed
She was probably buying a bag of lettuce and some crackers. Damn inflation..
Really enjoyed this one, thanks for uploading.
This is the best bro , “Rocket money sent a notification saying ‘large purchase alert’ and I was like uh-oh did someone hack into my account, but nah it was just my wife at target.” That is surprisingly hilarious.
My favorite signature tornado footage is from the May 3, 1999 tornado when it was in the stovepipe shape. I will always recognize that image.
Can't wait for the professional video! Love the videos man, keep up the work
I remember the 2011 super tornadoes.

These Videos are Just Wild/crazy/incredible, it's Impossible explain this Feeling.
It's a good day, cos Swegle uploaded!!
I love tornado season. I was less than 1mile from may 3rd 1999, and watched the may 8th from the front porch when i was 10 or so
Same
I was 8 when that happened and all the footage scared the shit out of me. I was in missouri but it was all over the news.
Same as I love tornado season
I was kinda surprised not to see may 5th or 20th on the list. Moore is a ridiculous hot spot for bad tornadoes
@@GingerChic87 if those were later, I moved 10 miles from moore so I didnt get to witness either
Dude i totally knew that last one was gonna be the one you picked, 1st saw it on some random vhs tornado footage doc. Cheers man
You know its going to be a good day when he uploads!
This channel never fails to feed my childhood fascination! Keep up the twisted work❤🌪
0:10 KoRn in subtitles🗣️🔥
I know right
When the EF3/EF4 tornado hit Bowling Green on the same night that Mayfield, KY got hit, it was completely silent!!! There was no roar or sound at all from our crawl space under the stairs!! Our back fences were all ripped away, houses 50 feet away were collapsing, the upstairs bedroom was being ripped to shreds; silent!!
You might be curious to know a better copy of the McConnell AFB close up is online now on Ancient Air Theatre's channel.

The SEMO tornado shelter video from the April 2, 2006 outbreak gave me chills.
Edit: If you don't know what i am talking about, here's the video. th-cam.com/video/hCoKXYYZodA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JJuoITEv5kM0ApqZ
the set is looking so good man!!!
We need a “best quotes” from tornado videos!
This is one of the best tornado compilations I’ve seen on TH-cam. Great work!
Awesome video as usual!
Thank you for feeding my tornados/severe weather phenomena obsession even more 🙏
Looking forward to watching this tonight after work
Love your content. I'm obsessed with tornadoes and weather in general.
So glad I found you through Andre over at European Reacts. All of your videos are excellent! I look forward to making my way through your catalog.
You're videos are awesome
You’ll always have a viewer in me dude, i love your stuff so much
Great video bro! Always hyped when you upload a new tornado video.
I lived in corn Oklahoma and I didn't know about this and I'm so impressed that in the little town of corn someone did something so significant. I've lived in Oklahoma for most of my life and I've never seen a tornado life is so crazy!!
Yay, new Swegle video!
It’s always a great day when swegle studios uploads
Been watching Storm Chasers and tornado videos since I was a kid, and the overpass video is always one that stuck with me.
i love this video. just a guy talking about tornado videos he enjoys. not too much insight, just a guy. love it
