Another great video as a Newby starting out at 52 years old and practicing on walmart bike mongoose outer limit the 40t chain ring and 16t free wheel just feel like I can't get a quick take off any suggestions on gearing . Oh and before I get bashed it's only my practice bike to make sure this is even what I want to do . Having bought a race bike yet
Hey Coach! I’ve just turned 52 and want to get back into some racing. Im 6’ 190#. I’m wondering what size bike I should get,20” with a 21” top tube or a 24” Cruiser with a 21” top tube? I also would like to be able to just ride around the neighborhood and practice jumps, bunny hops, manuals etc.
Thank you sir!
xtraflyr hello sir, get whatever bike you want to, whatever fits you,
51 here and just getting back into it after a 36 year hiatus. ON both a 20 and 24 and still trying to dial them in. And my self lol
6ft I would be trying anything between a pro xl+ to a pro xxl (for the 20). Welcome back to the sport!
@@BMXTraining thank you so much for that suggestion!! I bought one of those 26” PK Rippers Mike Buff editions and it’s just to darn heavy for anything except cruising around.
@@xtraflyr good luck man! 👍🏽
G this made my day, helped me so much,Thank you
Hey Zaan, I appreciate your support!
Look at you go Greg… Good job man long time no see
me watching this before my first race for the season im going to 0-0
Are uphill and downhill sprints necessary? Or is it better to do just flat sprints? Thanks G
I think they totally have their benefits and place! Again, always ask yourself “for what purpose?” Perhaps that’s a question I can go in more depth next video! Much gratitude Scott.
Hey Greg, I need your help please
What’s your website or link to sign up for training

Weird question, I come from a Velodrome sprinter background, why do BMX racers start with the pedals in a neutral position VS having one a little higher than the other?
That's an awesome question and I would say since the 80s, 90s and into the clip era, the front crank has lowered more as getting into the second pedal can be just as important as the explosive first. Also, consider roll out vs track, we get on top of the gear quick af. We want to get into the triple extension as fast as we can, so if the crank is higher, there will be a delay. And this is all preference of course, I has an athlete who was quick and won a bunch of races having his crank parallel to the down tube. I raced track and did team sprint, and i didn't like having my crank as high as the coach wanted me to.
@@BMXTraining I did team sprint (Olympic Sprint in my day) as the leadout man so my strength was going from 0 to 35ish mph in less than 250 m. This BMX stuff is a BIG learning curve.
I race at Emerald Valley BMX and I'm trying to get on EV... Can I plz get some tips??
Edward Bailey ride fast
How do you got the strength to pump propely
Earth former42 squats, and other similar leg exercises.
I always have to race older kids, people that are about 2-4 years older than me. I'm almost always beat by them. How can I train more to get better? It feels as if I am as fast as I can be.
Violet. What does training means to you? If you watch the latest live video posted yesterday you will see 15 areas where you can improve!

Jerry Ariel I do not think they do, but I do not completely know.
Jerry Ariel I wouldn’t think so.
You dont know? Are you a trainer? I already saw some video of people using clip.
Jerry Ariel no, I am not a trainer. This is why i said “I don’t know”
if you have a mountain bike, you can't race bmx. it's kinda sad but you just need a bmx bike with no kickstand, pegs, or reflectors
how do you get the momentum to land a jump because i keep casing it?
You got to look past the landing, most riders who case jus tlook at the face of the landing, not past it....
At the beginning he just rolls around in circles
how do u save energy until the last straight
sîdes I’m not sure about that one. I do want to find out though
