Bruh, he purposefully spring locked himself. What a character and really shows how far gone he is.
In the video, it sounded more like he killed himself with a gun instead of springlocking himself
3:45 listen and you can hear the springlocks go off before the snap and eventually impact of him falling onto the floor.
You can tell he's gone mad as he starts the message on in character as Bonnie, but then goes on to just be himself again

it's realistic yet uncanny,
it looks like it was taken on an actual crappy camera in the 80s,
they look like actual suits someone could wear,
it's beautiful.
So, I'm guessing that in this iteration, rather than having the spring locks be set off accidentally on him, William Afton had them deliberately go off on him in some sort of suicide attempt.
Also, considering how this tape was made in 1986, it makes me wonder just what's in store for the FNAF 1 location.

I actually have a theory on this series
In the last video instead of using a bonnie bounder suit to lure children william used a fredbear suit I think the reason it was fredbear instead of bonnie bounder was to avoid suspension and make people suspect Henry which also makes me think the call in the last video was actually to Henry instead of William
Although im properly wrong just a fun theory to think about
I like to think that too, plus it'd be a neat use of the newspapers in Fnaf 1 that say a suspect was convicted, maybe William did this in an act of 'revenge' towards Henry for stealing his creations/company or something, and the reason Henry doesn't answer the calls in the previous video is due to the shock of what he's inadvertently caused
