For most people it has nothing to do with religion at all. Just a day related to the winter days and family being together and to be extra kind with one another. That is why they celebrate it, in some languages it doesn't even mention the word christ in christmas.

So it is not permissible to participate in them nor to cooperate with its people or to assist them with anything; not with (giving them) tea, coffee, or anything at all; such as utensils, and the likes. Also, Allaah the Glorified says: وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الْبرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwaa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.(Al-Ma’idah 5:2) So participating with the disbelievers in their holidays is a type of helping them upon sin and transgression. Hence, it is obligatory upon every Muslim male and female to abandon that and it is not befitting for the one who has intellect to be deceived by the people in their actions. It is obligatory to ponder over the legislation of Al-Islaam and that which is has brought and to adhere to the command of Allaah and His Messenger, and not to look towards the affairs of the people. For most of the creation has no concern for the Legislation of Allaah. As Allaah the Mighty and Majestic has said: وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allaah’s Path. (Al-An’am 6:116) He, Glorified be He, has said: وَمَا أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly. (Yusuf 12:103) So the holidays which oppose the Legislation, then it is not permissible to accept them, even if the people are doing it. For the believer weighs his actions and statements, and the actions and statements of the people, by the Book and the Sunnah; the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. That which coincides with them or one of them, then it is accepted, even if the people have abandoned it.That which opposes them or one of them, then it is rejected, even if the people do it. Ive been Muslim for a few years i still do things that are sinful and i try to repent and fix the issue but when my non Muslim friends talk they forget about it and they will tell me merry Christmas and i say it back even though i would never say it otherwise, i think its just me feeling embarrassed i dont like saying no so its feels bad to try and correct my friends

All I know is that many Christians seem to have forgotten that Jesus was a Middle Eastern "Palestinian" man of colour. It's not, it's just we don't believe jesus is son of God, so your celebration opposes that. We respect you as a human but we don't admit something against our religion beliefs, hope you understand that.
A little advice for all of us, Hopefully we can become uswatun hasanah (good role models) like the prophet Muhammad and Umm Khadijah and have good expectations and emulate the akhlak mahmudah (good morals) so that we can do good deeds and eat halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) and die in a state of husnul khatimah (good ending) and the best place to return (hereafter) because it is in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah.💚💚
It don't mean you can't have family gatherings or get togethers on 25 December. It don't mean you celebrating Christmas.. There are some people who are very silly (Might as well say that Muslims must not smile on 25 dec cos that would mean they celebrating christmas). It does not mean that just because that day is significant to another religion that it restricts you from doing whatever you want on that day!

God is the one who decides which path leads to Him and which does not. But we humans think we know better. All over the world there are some 10,000 different religions. There were hundreds of different prophets sent by God to mankind. Each prophet had been given hard proofs to convince his people. The last prophet was also given several miracles but his greatest one is the Quran. This is active until the last day and has been protected by God Himself. Just as God has made the promise to give mankind proofs in the universe and in their selves, He has also made the promise to protect His last book:

Allah has also made a promise that every one who forges the proofs of Him, that they will have a hard time. The promise reads as:

Among Allah's promises in this verse, there is also scientific evidence right away that He is the creator of our bodies. He clearly teaches us that we have multiple skins and that the skins are the ones that contain heat sensors. Science says:
(Whit a third-degree burn, the wound is white or black, dry and leathery. You will hardly feel any pain with this burn because the nerves in the skin are Affected)
This fact was only discovered in the late 19th century while the Quran was sent to mankind 14 centuries ago. Who told the illiterate prophet who lived in the Sahara that the heat can only be felt through the skins, and that there are multiple layers of skins. This is why we talk about first, second and third degree burns.
I ask Allah to guide everyone to the right path. It will be very hard for those who reject His signs. And tip from me, don't believe in a religion you have no evidence for, just because your parents follow a certain religion doesn't mean it's the right one. It doesn't work that way. This goes against our beliefs (aka God has a Son). Celebrating it or wishing it, equates shirk (associating/worshipping others/ partners besides God) in the Islamic perspective (aka directly or indirectly agreeing with the Christians beliefs that God has a Son. (Quran Al-Ikhlas Chapter 112, Verse 1-4). We can wish Happy Holidays though. (Respecting the Christians beliefs).

Our brother says: He notices that some of the Muslims participate along with the Christians in the Festival of the Birth, or Christmas as they call it; he hopes for some guidance regarding that.
Answer:
It is not permissible for the Muslim male or female to participate with the Christians, the Jews, or other than them from the disbelievers in their holidays. Rather, it is obligatory to abandon that. This is because:
مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ
“He who imitates a people is from them.”
And the Messenger ﷺ warned us against imitating them and adorning ourselves with their mannerisms.
So it is upon the believing male and female to beware of that, and not to aid in the celebration of these holidays with anything.
This is because they are holidays which oppose the Legislation of Allaah and the enemies of Allaah establish them.
So it is not permissible to participate in them nor to cooperate with its people or to assist them with anything; not with (giving them) tea, coffee, or anything at all; such as utensils, and the likes. Also, Allaah the Glorified says:
وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الْبرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwaa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.(Al-Ma’idah 5:2)
So participating with the disbelievers in their holidays is a type of helping them upon sin and transgression. Hence, it is obligatory upon every Muslim male and female to abandon that and it is not befitting for the one who has intellect to be deceived by the people in their actions.
It is obligatory to ponder over the legislation of Al-Islaam and that which is has brought and to adhere to the command of Allaah and His Messenger, and not to look towards the affairs of the people.
For most of the creation has no concern for the Legislation of Allaah. As Allaah the Mighty and Majestic has said:
وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ
And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allaah’s Path. (Al-An’am 6:116)
He, Glorified be He, has said:
وَمَا أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly. (Yusuf 12:103)
So the holidays which oppose the Legislation, then it is not permissible to accept them, even if the people are doing it.
For the believer weighs his actions and statements, and the actions and statements of the people, by the Book and the Sunnah; the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ.
That which coincides with them or one of them, then it is accepted, even if the people have abandoned it.That which opposes them or one of them, then it is rejected, even if the people do it. And may Allaah grant all Tawfeeq and guidance.

Ive been Muslim for a few years i still do things that are sinful and i try to repent and fix the issue but when my non Muslim friends talk they forget about it and they will tell me merry Christmas and i say it back even though i would never say it otherwise, i think its just me feeling embarrassed i dont like saying no so its feels bad to try and correct my friends

All I know is that many Christians seem to have forgotten that Jesus was a Middle Eastern "Palestinian" man of colour. He was also a radical, but peaceful reformer, who hung out with, and advocated for the most shunned and disadvantaged in society. As such he would, no doubt, be rejected by a great many so called Christians today. As a Humanitarian and non-believer and I celebrate Yuletide and the winter Solstice. It don't mean you can't have family gatherings or get togethers on 25 December. It don't mean you celebrating Christmas.. There are some people who are very silly (Might as well say that Muslims must not smile on 25 dec cos that would mean they celebrating christmas). It does not mean that just because that day is significant to another religion that it restricts you from doing whatever you want on that day!

And If you feel like having a family dinner or get together on that day for any reason whatsoever (not christmas). Then u should. It does not mean that just because that day happens to be significant to another religion that it should restrict u from doing whatever you want on that day! And having dinner on that day does not mean you having Thanks giving dinner. It's your intention that matters.
