Thank you @The Lallantop for sharing this conversation. Being a fan of Mr. Shah, I have learnt to appreciate his work as I have aged. My opinion of him as an actor evolved in the last 20 years, but now when I look back at his body of work, it is clear that he is a school in himself.

Naseeruddin is very honest when, as an intellecual, he says "I am a lapsed Muslim". I admire his courage because lapse means expired, and what he means is that when a person grows intellectual, Islam is bound to expire within him or her.
Not to agree or disagree. It's your opinion...But I wish you correlate n research on Intellectual contributions and Islamic personalities...specifically 7th to 18th centuries. Yes presently Intellectual efforts declined due to internal clumsiness and external circumstances. Poor quality leadership.

What Dilip Kumar said to Nasserbhai that children from good families don’t join the film industry seems true in the early years of cinema. In the black and white era, we can see white women as heroines, and also some men playing women’s part. Now had Nasserbhai asked, then how come you are in the film industry it could have led Dilip Kumar into introspection, and he could have probably supported Nasserbhai’s decision.
What a loose statement that those who comment on him, are paid by somebody. As if others dont have opinion of their own. Thats problem with celebrities- they think they know everything,

Usually people like those who they agree with and dislike those views who they disagree with. It is childish to expect unbiasedness from anyone, as no one is truly unbiased.

the only problem i believe was in casting Naseer sahab about the age... Akbar died at the age of 63... while Naseer sahab played the role of young/father Akbar... he was already 70+.. and it is clearly shown in his act... i hope he could actually behave a little different as a young Akbar...
We need too see Shah and bachchan in a film intense drama where both are on opposite ends and to be directed aptly by Shoojit sircar or suggest any other name
