Good morning. I apologize for the boldness, but I would like to ask you for the favor of reading the following paragraph: I am starting to study programming on my own. I have already completed hundreds of logic exercises in PSeInt, understand the concepts of loops, conditionals, and functions. However, I'm unsure whether studying a language like Python, which is object-oriented programming, is the best idea, or if studying Elixir as my first language, because I'm interested in learning the functional paradigm, would be better. I don't know if studying object-oriented programming first is the better approach, or if studying functional programming to avoid having to unlearn OOP is the way to go. I have already purchased several courses to study Elixir, such as "Learn Functional Programming with Elixir", "Programming Elixir 1.6", "Joy of Elixir" and "Toy Robot" by Ryan Bigg, etc. It's really challenging to decide. I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
hi, @hebertotonielgamarra5111 how are you? it is too personal to decide your career. If you want your first job I would choose Python would be faster (I think). But if you really desire to move your career to Elixir and FP go for it I LOVE elixir and Syntax is fantastic. About learning OOP and then moving to FP, you probably will find challenges (I had because I came from Java). I hope my answer helped you, if not, you can send me an e-mail to adm@elxpro.com
as a python professional dataflow programmer, learn c, then go, then elixir and python at the same time. itll be easy at that point. c is hard but itll be worth it to learn that first. if you want to get hired as fast as possible though, switch go and c.
If you want to become an Expert in Elixir, watch a free class now

@hebertotonielgamarra5111 I'd say to start with python or GO
Agree
