  • This is a recording of a message broadcast from SKYKING to SKYMASTER on April 12 2024 at 15:35 on 11175 kHz (US HFGCS). The message, 𝙷𝙺𝚀 𝙹𝙲𝙾 𝙵𝙾𝚈 𝙻𝙱𝚉 𝙿𝚄𝙶 𝙴𝚅𝚀 𝙴𝚆𝙼 𝚄𝙶𝚅 𝚁𝚂𝚄 𝙱𝙰𝙳, is identical to the one broadcast (by the same sender and to the same addressee) a few minutes earlier at 15:32. (For the unusual context of this message, this video is an excerpt from a longer livestream; • CONDITION RED: SKYMAST... )
Strictly speaking, the format of this message does not adhere to the types of messages usually broadcast by SKYKING, and colloquially (and potentially incorrectly) known as "SKYKING messages"; instead, they adhere to the structure of messages (again colloquially, and potentially incorrectly) known as "SKYMASTER messages", and many of the 3-letter groups in this message were included in other messages broadcast to SKYKING on the same day.
As far as the recent history of SKYING messages goes, a relatively recent review of SKYKING messages broadcast on the HFGCS documented online done before this recording was made yielded the information that the most recent recording of "a SKYKING" was posted to eam.watch of a broadcast in July of 2022; eam.watch/view... (There has been some discussion of SKYKING messages broadcast over the HFGCS in 2023 but there is no documentation and it cannot be verified. The apparent source of this information, the infamous UTwente WebSDR chatbox, is not a reliable source, so such documentation would be required before "just trust me bro"ing their anecdotes.)
There is good reason to believe that even though the frequency of SKYKING messages over the HFGCS has slowed in the past 5 or more years, it does not mean they have been phased out - rather, they have probably moved to an alternative communications system. It is my own speculation that they may realize a potential flaw in this decision, and end up moving these messages back to shortwave radio.

That station used the callsign "Sky King" but the traffic was not a classic "SKYKING" message, as in...
"SKYKING SKYKING do not answer. Message follows. FIGHT CLUB. Authentication FOXTROT UNIFORM"

The format of what we've typically referred to as "SKYKING messages" has had some changes over the years, the format you've identified is, I would assume, the most recent one and still in effect.
Honestly, I don't think it's 'correct' to refer to what I've broadcast here as a "SKYKING message" since we have always heard those as messages using a particular callsign AND format. Regardless of the callsign being used, this format is one of a couple of which I've been personally referring to as 'SKYMASTER messages'. Nonetheless, it's an interesting recording because it challenges some running assumptions about what 'SKYKING' means, how it's used, etc. I don't believe anyone has ever heard SKYKING used like this before. It's quite odd

My personal view is that this means less about SKYKING than we used to know. The general assumption online was that SKYKING was a specific message format and the callsign was only used for that format. With this message, SKYKING used a different format, and SKYMASTER even answered it later (instead of "do not answer" which we used to hear SKYKING always say

Basically the guy sending has a book the guy at the other end has a book ,the guy sending reads the code from the book ,the code has a meaning .The guy at the receiving end matches the code to what's being sent and now has the message ie for example YDBF547 = Fly to coordinates bla bla bla .Only the sender and receiver have the code books.
