Uncle Paul Simon! This is Kwesi Elba. (The African Traditional Medicine Man) The nephew of Okyerema Asante (your drummer and friend) God bless you "each day and forever more"
Such a wonderful talented human being! Thank you for sharing your experience. I have performed for 58 years and unfortunately have the same experience. I wear hearing devices and don’t think I can perform in a band because of my hearing loss.
What an incredible interview! I am astounded on so many levels. I was already aware of the musical genius of Paul Simon, but had no idea what an intelligent person he is, sagacious in his response to the questions asked of him. My younger son is severely hearing impaired in his right ear (in which he wears an aid) and profoundly impaired in his left ear (which is not benefited by an aid) It has always been been our most fervent hope that a cure will someday be possible. We recently learned of a clinical trial involving a stem cell protocol, however my son (34) was deemed “too old” for this pediatric trial. We must hope, but the price we pay for that is frustration, disappointment, and a sadness that often feels near defeat. Thank God for efforts like the Stanford Initiative, and for philanthropists like Paul Simon! 🥰
Hi. Believe it or not, there's (real) cure - not "hope" - to ANY pain, ache, ailment, malady, DISEASE. BUT, take heed, it's NOT through science (medical science, or any kind of science for that matter). Read "The Game of Life and How to Play It" (Florence Scovel Shinn). If you pay close attention to her stories (with a completely silent reasoning mind...NOT an "open mind"), and you put into action what you shall learn in it, especially the very last decree (at the end of the book), a miracle may happen. Did I say "miracle"? Oh, well - miracles are real, and if only one comes to pass, all of them do - why not yours? Success, and Happiness...and Health!
