really enjoy this new ost overall but i think they did a poor job with this track and it's my favorite from the original game which makes me sad. the trumpet? part at 0:09 (if that's the right instrument) sounds awful. but not trying to be negative, the ost as a whole is great and other parts of the track are good.
I feel like it adds a lot of class which feels good to some of us veterans of the first. It's a classier take on the discordant, like a fist fight in a jazz club. But to each their own I guess
That's a muted trumpet, which is extremely common in old school American jazz, especially from the 1920's and 1930's. It's supposed to sound like that. If you ever listen to old school jazz, the trumpets actually sound WAY more whiny and waily sometimes. I will say that I prefer to more militant energy of the original song better. It was more intimidating, but at the same time, this remix is also incredible. The original song had these sorts of jazz elements in it anyways, so that's ultimately the direction they decided to go in. I can't blame them for that!
Best music battle of Game
Better than armed boss?
Don´t you just like when the game dinamically adds instrument to their ost depending of how well you are doing?
More games should do that, really feels rewarding after achieving a good combo
Like Mario Kart 8 1st place
@@maxwellr5251What? Didn't even know MK8 did that
@@ppvsonicspy MK7 does it as well
Skies of Arcadia is where I first heard something like that.
Lore of Fight Against a Stronger Monster (Normal + Chain) - Super Mario RPG (Switch) momentum 100

I feel like the whole ost has a speak easy big band feel that really sells the whole tone of the game

Not to be that guy, but the original SNES music also had a muted trumpet as a lead! It was a MIDI version of one, but still.
I actually enjoy the Harmon muted trumpet on this. I do love the original too though.
