Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child was sung here by the fabulous Darlene Love, a member of the Blossoms at this time but she went on to have a very successful solo career. She is a bit famous for leaving Tom Jones’ bed when he said something she didn’t like.
I know how much you loved 'Stand by me' James (one of my favourites!) can you try 'Take my hand, precious lord' - amazing the depth of feeling - only 22 when he sang it.

@@jamesreacts111 Cissy Houston sang with Elvis as a member of The Sweet Inspirations for 5 weeks in July-August of 1969. She didn't extend her contract because she wanted to be home to spend more time with her children. The other members of her group stayed on with Elvis until his passing. The group who performed with him in the '68 Comeback Special was The Blossoms whose members were Jean King, Edna Wright and Darlene Love. Jean King sang "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child" in this production number, and Darlene Love sang in it on the recording.
Sorry for the wrong info. I know that at some point, a long time ago, I was told that and always believed it.

Loved it James…in case you didn’t know, the three ladies on the top platform were THE BLOSSOMS and Darlene Love went on to have a solo career…you would probably know her Christmas song BABY PLEASE COME HOME. Staying warm here in Canada 🥰
