watched this review and was hesitant to buy one at first... then decided to go for it anyway. owned the bike for almost 6 months now and can honestly say this review could NOT be more wrong. I LOVE IT. i have tested and rode many bikes and i ALWAYS cant wait to get back on my Zr7s. I 10/10 recommend one to anyone that wants a really enjoyable bike to ride.

I had the 2003 S model for 5 years. It's a cracking little bike for the money. I paid £1300 for a 2003 model in 2007. I rode it into London to work everyday (all weathers) and it didn't miss a beat.
At the weekends I would use it around town and go for long rides and camping trips. It handles well and it's very flickable and feels very light at low and high speed.
The weather protection is pretty good from its half fairing which also gives good wind protection for its size.
The seat is also very comfortable, great on long runs. I did a few 200 mile trips and got off the other end feeling fine. Also, on long trips it's good on fuel too, can't remember the MPG but I was always impressed with how far it went on 1 tank.
The motor is an absolute work horse, reliable and durable. I don't understand why this chap is saying it's highly underpowered. The motor picks up well and has a good top speed for the 750cc it has. (Roughly 130+MPH)
Styling wise, I think it looks good! it's certainly not ugly.
Maintenance is very easy too. Oil changes, filters and wheel adjustments are simple and quick, and it's nice to have a bike that you can actually work on as a novice.
Overall I'd say this is a good, cheap and reliable bike with a good engine. Bit like a 2001 600cc Bandit really.
Ps. this presenter is a right pillock.

Cody T hey buddy. I found it similar in the way you can just jump on it and have fun, a bit like your average 5 out of 10 women. It's reliable, turns up each time you need to to and it's still fun to ride, not a massive head turner but it still puts a smile on your fave and doesn't cost a fortune to run :)

Have somebody that KNOWS motorcycles from ALL era's do a review of this bike, not some obvious power hungry crotch rocket riding squid. This review is an ephin' joke. The ZR-7S is a modern take on the original classic, the GPz 750. The 738cc air cooled engine is one of the best and most reliable ever made. This bike is an UJM, not a speed demon. It's more than enough bike for somebody that wants reliability and doesn't need to go faster than 135mp/h and pay $$$$ for insurance premiums. Review the bike for what it is bud, not what YOU want it to be.

Spot on mate, well said. This bloke talks out of his arse, "every bike should be a little bit special", wtf are you on.... Come back down to reality. Some people want practical, reliable hard-wearing motorcycle. Not so keen on it being air cooled though myself. But the manufacturer knew what a it was doing

Why would you even review a standard/commuter/light touring bike if you wanted something more sporty? I have this bike and it's awesome. The engine is 1980s technology - easy to work on, everything is accessible for maintenance, does over 200km/h comfortably and so far has done 80,000 FUN km with Zero problems.

All I know is that for $1500 I got a great machine that runs mid-12's in the qtr mile and will pull my 220 lb ass up to 125 mph. Suspension's a lil soft, but so what? It's not a sportbike, it's a do-it-all standard.

  • @tonedeftony
    @tonedeftony 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Maybe it's the pointy headlight that had this reviewer thinking he was about to review a 200mph superbike. Or maybe he thought ZR sounded fast, who knows? Sounds to me like he's using the bike to try to make himself sound like he's used to so much more, that the ZR seems boring by comparison, but instead, he comes off sounding like a like a whiny ass kid with a 'look at me' complex. I've had this bike for four years and it's fantastic. It starts every time, goes pretty much anywhere, sounds great, purrs like a cat, will drag the pegs around corners, won't break your back, and is affordable as hell to maintain. If you want the truth about the bike, read the comments of people who own one

LOL I bought this exact motorcycle, same color and same year and I love it! Maybe because I upgraded from a 250cc dual-sport Yamaha but it's enough for me, this bike goes from 120 km/h all the way to 210 km/h +plus without hesitation, it has enough power to keep up with R6's and other sportier bikes and sure as hell I can outride in long distance any sport biker because the ZR7S is VERY comfortable and you sit upright. The mileage is lovely, with it's big tank I can go almost 350 km, try that with an R6 or a CBR.

My mate Dave who lives on the Isle Of Man and therefore knows his onions (and motorcycles) says these are the dogs and, are too quick even for a seasoned rider such as him. He says they handle like a 916, frugal as a C90 Chicken Chaser and are a fanny magnet. So obviously the reviewer in this video knows SFA.

And it goes just fine. It cruises 85 mph without complaint. Stable on the highway and super comfortable.

its a good bike for very good money. i honestly dont know why your been so negative against the bike. it does seem to me like Kawasaki have been taking alot of stick from reviewers on websites, almost if someone is paying the reviewers to report bad feedback. the zr7s is a brilliant little bike, no fancy electrics, no ABS, no TCS, non of these silly on board modes, just you and the bike. for the money in the used market you cant go wrong, but saying this i still prefer the hornet. but nowt wrong with zr7s,

Fuggin berk. It ISNT all about what says. Ive owned one for past 3 years and had LOADS of fun, cruising, long trips with mrs, some blasts with mates, and surprisingly... Just changing the exhaust for a louder one (as a start), makes the riding of the ZR-7 more smile inducing.. i have done the Ivans jet kit and other mods since and STILL think its one of the best bikes (of 30+ bikes) ive owned, even compared to my other bike RF900R... I am a happy owner, like many others i suspect.. :-)

Yesterday I bought a very low mileage 2001 model in the blue colour. I'm on a tight budget and can't imagine getting a better bike for my money. I respect Warren's opinion, but disagree. Firstly it's a great looking bike in my view. Considerably better looking than nearly all modern (but not modern retros) bikes, which all have the silly acute angles and masses of plumbing on display. No, it's not a firebrand performance wise, but it's not designed to be. But it's still fast enough to lose your licence easily. 125mph top speed and stg qtr in 12.4 isn't slow! In my view it's a great all-rounder if you want a cheap 2nd hand bike and you don't have a lot to spend.

Is this some kind of weird "hit piece?" Most bang for the buck I've spent...I wasn't willing nor wanted to spend 10k for the comparable Yamaha. I wanted a sporty, affordable and comfortable all day motorcycle that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Totally disagree with this ridiculous review...this has been a fun and enjoyable bike to ride. If you want to race and dump your fully faired "look at me" motorcycle than this isn't the motorcycle for you!
