Thank you for this! This helped me alot! I was wondering why the can changed. Didn’t know Murray’s made Sweet Georgia Brown 😮. All this time I thought they were competitors
Danny, thank you for sharing your info and experiences on your pomade journey. Your channel has been a great help to me as a newb to oil-based products. Maybe the best channel on TH-cam for greasers, and aspiring greasers. Thx again.
"It is that time of year when I pop in, make a video, then disappear just like your dad going out to get the milk" Danny please don't ever change. Great Video as usual, also do you have any tips for getting your pomp to look like Elvis' in Jailhouse Rock where it's all puffy and wavy?
There is nothing "unhealthy" about oil based pomades. That's all anyone used for 70 plus years before anything else existed and "the dry look" came in. Water based pomades exist because they wash out easy unlike oil based and you can rest your head against your pillow or easy chair without leaving an oily spot. The down side of water based pomades is that they get hard in your hair and have no shine. If you're not looking.got.an.authentjc 1950's look water based is fine
How in the hell did Murray's "lose" the formula for the blue Sweet Georgia Brown? I used it when Murray's still made it and it worked fantastic. Held a big Roy Orbison style all day and the scent was incredible. Then it disappeared from the market. I've been on the fence about trying this version by Lockharts, usually reproductions are never the same of the original, especially since Lockharts is improvising here since there's no original formula to base it on.
The Murray's made version (blue) had fantastic hold. This seems to be a problem with all lockharts products. They call them "heavy hold" and they aren't. I've tried their Goon Grease and it won't hold an Elvis style worth a damn.

Yay! I love the re-released SGBs, both the red and blue one. They're worthy of the name.
Please review the 2023 "Lockhart's version" of Sweet Georgia Brown Red.
🙏😔
Such a great review! Thank you!
your hair looks amazing!
Do you use pomade everyday? When yes, do you leave it on for some days or do you wash it off after each use?
Can you review Sweet Georgia Brown red

I can't wait to see what ya have to say about Duke Cannon News Anchor pomade. Great stuff
I would very much appreciate it, if you could do a tutorial of George Peppard's hair as Paul Varjak.
Have you ever tried Murray's Xtra Heavy?
Do you have any reservations about using a petroleum based pomade? Is water based a healthier option? Love to hear your thoughts 👍

I feel like this one should be called medium and the red one light. Older version had way more hold in my opinion
