- More than five years on, and the so-called Havana Syndrome is back with us.
Four American diplomats have fallen sick this week with suspected cases of the Syndrome in Paris and Geneva.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the federal government is working to identify the illness and who or what might be behind it.
The mystery condition has affected about 200 diplomats and their family members since 2016.
Symptoms include migraines, nausea, memory lapses and dizziness

Infrasonic weapon. Some guy in France stumbled upon it back in the 1950's. The problem you have when it is used is that it is nearly impossible to detect because normal acoustic devices for measuring sound will not detect infrasonic sounds. You need special equipment to detect it. The guy in France pointed that out because initially they were not able to detect the cause of their discomfort which was caused by a fan in the 7 cycles per second range.
If you wanted to attack people you would just need to set up the transducers to create the sound at very high level. The symptoms of exposure would be precisely what you have in Cuba. For very short duration it would only cause the symptoms that would pass when the infrasonic was turned off but at higher levels it would cause permanent injury. Unfortunately you can't protect against it with hearing protection because at that frequency the sound is not blocked and passes through any material.

Yeah, I've read about a few of the more credible accounts. They are very specific, very short and very intense/painful episodes, (followed by lingering symptoms). The one that happened in Moscow and hit two different people in different places in the city within a day just would be uncanny if not something real. Granted, there are a lot of other accounts which might be explained by a group psychosis, but there are some specific cases which almost have to be some sort of attack.

A psychotic issue can cause blindness in Catatonia. How ever it’s very rare. Even in shared psychotic, the delusion doesn’t spontaneously appear in a group of people. It is passed down from one individual to another usually in families community groups.

Those are most certainly not USA, Germany, France or UK. They have been destroying their stockpiles of biological weapons. But I wouldn't put it past the UK to be best in class in directed energy weapons, as that country has historically provided many physics breakthroughs used in warfare. @Sean James Miley well thats what I did and I am constantly hounded by the pollice for nothing, strangers seem to "be in on it" like they're special agents from the matrix...its possible theres radio and phone surveillance but everyone I meet, complete strangers have a familiar quality, like they know me which makes me feel tremendously suspicious. Ringing in the ears is constant, sudden flashes of light that I calmly ignore, eye soreness, lots of eye soreness. It all seems to add up to paranoid schizophrenia...or...an actual conspiracy against me personally.
Would be awesome if they had the brains to develop a technology that people can have in their homes that can protect or stop the attacks while they “figure” who is behind the attacks and why.

These are physical attacks and the most frightening issue is that they aren't just being conducted against diplomats. Civilians are being tortured with this technology and nobody is taking their claims seriously.

I have had these exact symptoms as have many people diagnosed with psychogenic disorders. These are the most typical symptoms of the Disease and it has been happening to people of all backgrounds for decades.
Having deeply studied photonics in college, I can say this is very likely microwaves or radiowaves to pick up audio signals covertly. It's very easily done, and microwaves and radiowaves above certain intensities for sure will cause sounds within the head (such as crackling) that others can't hear and cause these exact symptoms. You can have very small devices that do these things - handheld devices. Note how certain government buildings (e.g. CIA) are jagged and you can't easily bounce, say a laser, off the windows easily to spy on them; this is exactly why. You need a transmitter and receiver to do this, and these are unlikely to be in the same place as 'normal' (directly to and from), but rather at an angle; so you'd need two observation points to do such things for spying. If this happens to someone they should be looking around at buildings, vehicles, or even pedestrians.
I think it's very unlikely it's just to make people feel unwell - governments want information, as it's the most profitable thing you can have against your opponents. If this was the case, then only a transmitter would be required.

Now I'm not joking here, but a tin foil hat should kind of work. But, to not look crazy, and be much more effective, I'd suggest a conductive fabric head covering. Could make one of out "Faraday fabric", or there's premade garments you can buy (EMF shielded that's been tested for 'electrosensitive' people, mainly for radiowaves). However, if making it yourself you'd really want to know the frequency of the device being used to make it most effective, and that's the big unknown. But, conductive coverings should help dampen any effects significantly, it just won't be 100% without knowing more about the wave being used (frequency, is it CW or pulsed, intensity, etc.).
It's also uncertain what effects these weapons may have on areas other than the head. E.g. does it damage peripheral nerves elsewhere, such as extremities or the heart and gut? I haven't read the medical reports to know if people have experienced non-cephalic symptoms.
This definitely works against crowd controlling microwave weapons used by police/National Guard, too, but in that case you'd want full body coverage.
@@LuisRivera-vv4qy it may be you've become hyper-electrosensitive yourself. The US doesn't recognize it officially, nor the EU, but there are studies suggest EM radiation from communication technology could possibly have an effect on some people. I can't say for sure if it's true or not without experimentation, but the threshold they give is for heating biological tissue (that is they deem it safe if it doesn't measurably cause heating in tissues), and in my opinion, something biological doesn't necessarily have to heat up to have damages caused by EM radiation... Without the Earth's magnetosphere and the Ozone layer, we'd all be dead in short order from such radiation. It's really all down to the individual person, and the characteristics of the wave, as to whether or not you'd be effected.
There's some journalism on this you could look up, always doing so with healthy skepticism. (Look up 'Electrosensitivity', and stick with professional people and articles, so there isn't so much muck to wade through).
My rule would be to always caution on the safe side. If we don't know if something is potentially dangerous, we should treat it as if it were.

Mass delusion doesn't explain the recording that some of these victims were able to record, or the actual physiological damage to their brains, or the fact that it happened to an entire family at the same time. Goes to show some educated people can be extremely stupid.

He says that 'mass delusion' happens when someone tells you, 'The sugar pill I just gave you was poisoned,' meaning that people have to be TOLD to expect some kind of negative experience and then they delude themselves into thinking that they have it. But this has happened to THOUSANDS of ordinary people, not just 200 government officials. And it has happened to people utterly separated from each other. I read hundreds of comments from ordinary people who had this, and they were completely unsuspecting, never had any thought of something like this happening to them, and they also report the same kind of experience - people in New Mexico, Florida, Ohio, Canada, Germany... and none of them had any idea what was happening to them. Nobody 'prompted' them to imagine that something was happening. Widely diverse people in different parts of the world, teaching a class, walking through a shopping center, driving down a road, etc., suddenly get the same symptoms and have no idea what's going on - no explanation that someone planted in their heads before hand. It is unethical to keep calling it Havana Syndrome when every time this is referenced it (deliberately) negatively impacts Cuba. Sadly, the diplomats and intelligence officers globally affected have experienced the phenomena across continents. For victims, the condition is understandably scary and distressing, and it merits meaningful research and support. In the meantime, it is time to act responsibly and not repeat the red-herring references to Havana - which conjure images that undermine the safe environment that Cuba strives so hard to provide for diplomats serving here.

I am a target individual and I have a question for my fellow ti’s suffering through this phenomenon atrocity that they are trying to hide behind claims of mass hysteria that all walks of life are suffering from. I really am a true ti. i suffer everyday and I relate to everything this guy is saying I know he’s telling the truth. the definition of oppression is (prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control). Also it means , (mental pressure or distress) would u consider these perpetrators as oppressors from what they are doing?
This interviewer clearly makes the common mistake of understanding about psychogenic effects, mind-control, “brainwashing”, and placebo effect, which is; that people have some sort of “weakness” or character defect that allows them to buy fully into a belief about reality that can be objectively demonstrated to be non-factual. There’s also a nuance here that no one seems to be addressing, which is; that in a situation like this, there can be multiple simultaneous, facts which, on a casual or simplistic assessment, might appear mutually exclusive. In other words, a phenomenon such as the placebo effect, is BOTH mental AND physical. Same with this Havana syndrome; even if it were a case of mass psycho genesis, that doesn’t exclude it’s being a genuinely physical set of symptoms. It’s ridiculously simplistic for the interviewer to suggest that if it turns out to be psycho genesis at work, that it must be “only” in the victims’ “heads”.
Surely wherever US Embassies are situated in 'unfriendly' states, the US government takes precautions to either 'shield' or at very least incorporate sensor devices that can rapidly detect incoming focussed/aimed microwave/electromagnetic fields, that are directed with intent to harm personal or monitor communication? The symptoms described are welknown for some decades.
It’s not just unfriendly states though, it’s happening worldwide, the only common link is their Americans, so it’s likely something that they are bringing with them everywhere they go. Don’t forget were talking about a country that had released biological weapon onto their own citizens for research and dropped nuclear bombs on the Marshall Islands and then sent the natives back onto the Island to study the affects. More than likely it’ll be a certain sound frequency that these people are sensitive to that is being admitted by some device they have.

There realy is not an attack. It's the same as the dancing mania/ dancing plaque in Europe in like the 13th to 15th centurie . It's usually a phenomena that starts with a person that convinces others of something odd happening (for example that they can't stop dancing, have certain symptoms of a mistery illnes like in this case or that they in fact got abducted by aliens). Once people belive it they are likely to experience the same issues (kinda like the nocebo effect).
If people stop talking about it cases of these issues go down like with the alien abduction craze that used to be talked about a lot but is pretty much forgotten by now.

The claim that the diplomats in Cuba suffered brain damage is untrue. The JAMA study found brain anomalies but this is not an uncommon finding in small cohorts like this. Brain anomalies are not the same as brain damage. Those anomalies were not pronounced - in fact in the study they stated that the anomalies were so minor that they could have been caused by individual variation. Brain anomalies similar to those found in the 2019 study - can be caused by exposure to long-term stress. Furthermore, it was a methodologically flawed study as 12 of those affected had histories of concussion, compared to none of the healthy controls. This alone could account for the differences between the two groups. Unfortunately many news outlets keep repeating the claim that the diplomats in Cuba experienced brain damage. Not true.

The US Government examined 8 records from the first 21 attacks and concluded that they were crickets! It certainly wasn't microwaves because microwaves cannot be recorded.

I think that two things that were pointed out and measured sonically were two different crickets. I'm sorry but it seems a lazy hypothesis. I get dizzy or need to pop my ears when there's a high pressure system passing through. It's a physiological manifestation of surrounding barometric pressure and it isn't just in "all in my head". Sure, I'd be willing to say some of the reports of Havana Syndrome probably are psychogenic or manifestation of mass hysteria but you can't unequivocally say all those who've reported this are loony (for lack of a better word). I have seen both 60 Minute segments on 'Havana Syndrome' - the one that aired on March 17, 2019, and the more recent one from February 20, 2022 (+ the 60 Minutes Overtime segment on 20 children of diplomats being targeted). As someone who began his career as a journalist in New York in 1979 and worked in the profession for several years (and am a New Yorker), the 60 Minutes producers should be charged with journalistic malpractice - or at the very least - trying to whip up interest by present one side of a two-sided story. I am writing a rebuttal for The Skeptic magazine and for Psychology Today that will counter their claims. I have always respected the victims - and I have never claimed they were mentally disturbed or crazy. But they need to be told the truth. For instance, the patients in Cuba should be better on their own with a gradual reduction of stress over time. The problem is - they keep being told they have brain damage when they do not (based on the 2 JAMA studies). If I had seen that 60 Minutes report and not written a book on the topic and been familiar with the facts, I would have concluded that something nefarious took place involving an energy attack by a foreign power - and that suggestions of psychogenic illness were ridiculous because mass psychogenic illness cannot cause brain injuries, white matter changes, hearing loss, and some of the other other symptoms mentioned. But it is demonstrably false. There never was brain damage found in the Cuban patients. That is a fact (re: the 2 JAMA studies from 2018 & 2019). No competent medical professional can read those studies and reach such a conclusion. There should be an investigation as to how those studies were ever published.
Number 2 - all of these reports around the world where people are claiming brain injury - this is separate from what happened in Cuba. There are all kinds of mundane explanations for these international reports. Here is an interesting fact for you - The main CIA investigation, the FBI investigation, and the 2021 Jason report by elite specialist scientists are all skeptical that an attack took place. Why is that? You've got this recent report from early February from a small panel of outside advisors to the CIA claiming in a small number of cases, it was likely an attack by an energy weapon. That's exactly what the National Academy of Sciences panel concluded. The same man who chaired the NAS panel, chaired that small CIA advisory panel. The main CIA panel and the FBI and the Jason panel have got it right - and they would have had access to all kinds of secret documents. If 60 Minutes was engaged in a legitimate journalistic enterprise and not just after clicks and views, they would have interviewed some of the many respected skeptics including my colleague - Bob Baloh the UCLA neurologist who reviewed the original JAMA study in 2018 - and rejected it. That they did not provide a balanced report is telling. Most mainstream scientists I know side with the psychogenic explanation because they have taken the time to read the JAMA studies and our book. This isn't hard - follow the science and steer clear of the politics. Anyway - I have given you a detailed response and cannot use any more time to writing comments - but I respect everyone involved. I used to have exactly the same symptoms working at the government, doing absolutely nothing meaningful while collecting pays from tax payers every other week. I felt guilty and miserable and considered that job was a waste of my life. I am a victim and have been writing about this from year 2012. First it started to me in Saudi Arabia back in year 2006/07 period. The symptoms appeared to me in the form of Headache and Muscle cramps. Later it continued in different forms until it appeared as symptom Tinnitus back in 2012/13 period and continues till now. Sometimes they create heavy noise in my ear which makes me forced to leave that location, to overcome that disturbing attacking sound. The tinitus is a auditory temperary threshold shift in response to directed ultrasound. It is temporary deafness in response to a very loud noise outside the audible spectrum, like when your ears ring from the bass speakers at a rock concert after the music ends. Ok, I googled "University of Auckland" and Robert Bartholomew and read his article in Psychology Today. He makes some good points, but I have to admit, I initially thought he lacked credibility because of his extremely animated delivery and the fact that his bookcase has several on books regarding UFO's and the Paranormal which kind of makes sense if you're studing psychogenic illness. However, in my humble opinion, it would probably be a good idea to include some books about psychology and scholarly journals, etc. if you want to be taken seriously.

Lie detector tests are known for being unreliable and for providing false positives consistently. That is why they are not allowed as proof in a court of law, because of their notoriously poor results. They can still be used as a guide or tool, but that’s about it. There's most likely some spyware inside those embassy buildings, which is messing with their brains. Probably just a collateral side effect, not the main purpose. However, I even prefer to leave the kitchen while my microwave is active - those vibes are not to be messed with.

That professor from Auckland is CHOOSING not to be objective. Likely has his reasons. He is ignoring the pattern of WHO is experiencing his so asserted psychotic episodes. These people were TARGETS. Likely initially just Americans to test a weapon out on the enemies. To fry the right brain of an enemy would not be a good thing. My guess would be that the symptoms associated with this effect if it is some kind of radio wave attack are incidental. It might be an attempt at some kind of mind control or maybe even the deletion of their memories. These side effects may just be a byproduct. Otherwise, this whole situation seems like you would have some foreign power using highly advanced microwave technology against United States diplomats just as mischief since it's hard to understand how causing people to have headaches or nausea in and of itself could be strategically advantageous especially when you consider the fact that they could just be replaced.

Due to what I have witnessed and experienced I feel that this is a global problem and that it is not just Russia targeting America. The focus should be on validating and helping the victims, (many of whom are thought to be crazy,) and on stopping criminal use of both ground and space based technologies that can emit radio waves.
Here's my theory: there have been a handful of real cases, then many more high level diplomats feigned the same because the working environment is a snakepit and they wanted out while not giving the impression of giving up.

These are common findings in small cohorts like this. Why would they be exhibiting minor stress-induced brain anomalies? They had been told they were being watched 24/7 by Cuban agents - and later that they may be the subject of a sonic weapon. Incidentally, the notion that it was microwave weapons didn't even enter the picture until much later. I would be happy to debate Mark Polymeropoulous, who I have sympathy for.
