  • We're taking a full day tour of 11 hours today from Busan to seven historic sites in the Gyeongju region. Starting of at the Bulguksa temple, which is a huge complex of several beautiful buidings and a pond. After a great tour of the grounds, we're going to a historical open air museum called Gyeongju gyochon. It's really impressive to see the villagers do such a great job on the upkeeping of everything.
With five more stops to go on the tour, it was time to get on to the next stop: The daereungwon tombs from the Silla period. These tombs are impressive hills and since we were there in March, the tourist season didn't start yet, so we had lots of space to admire the grounds.
We quickly took a look at the village next door, before heading to the woljeong bridge, which was originally built around the year 600, but the replica from the '80s is very impressive as well.
The tour ends at the Donggung palace, which is beautifully lit at sunset and definitely the best time of the day to visit it.
