Totally relate to your story about caring about Funny How Time Flies....janet is my GOAT!! It was common for bsides to be filler tracks and such. And remember playing the cassette not really feeling the song or listening to the lyrics, but I remember turning the volume down when janet started moaning.....it was an awakening and pivotal pre teen years. They did a great job. I'm glad someone mashed up these two songs together. I've already noticed the similarity between the two songs which is the improvisational scat parts of both songs with MJ's "Don't you go no where." and JJ's "Don't you ever go." "Say you love me so."
They're both some of my favorite songs of theirs. I prefer his non single album tracks or singles that haven't been over played like his big hits Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller. If I don't hear them again I'll be fine. But another ballad by MJ that's my favorite is She's Out Of My Life. I relate this song to my relationship with my paternal grandmother who was my primary guardian for my first seven years of my life but who was Jehovah's Witness who tried to convert me 3x who passed away this past July. I had to cut her out of my life because she didn't and accept me for who I am.
