Great video ❤my long haired Chihuahua looks almost identical to the last one but she’s more white and has a small tan heart shape on her side. She’s the best and sweetest dog that I’ve ever had.
he did not say they shed more. he said they shed about an equal amount, but because long haired chihuahuas have longer hairs, it will seem like they shed more, when in reality they do not.
These dogs are something I definitely wouldn't call "low maintenance" they aren't something you should get if you're incredibly busy and work almost all hours of the day, they require a lot of care and attention, they require you to pay attention to their behaviours 24/7 (like any pet really). When a chihuahua is picked up by some fool who thinks they're easy to manage they tend to become troublesome and easily aggravated, they start snapping at dogs and people because you don't know how to "control" them just like with many other terrier breeds, they're described to be a big dog in a small dogs body.
This is so not true. Chihuahuas do shed more, than other dogs, specially long haired because they shad all the time and you do not need to bath them at all. I have long haired girl that is combed daily and in her almost 8 years was showered three times. First she took a dive in mod pond when she slipped chasing ducks. Second she took a bath in dead bird and third in poop. Everyone asks what I do with her that she has such a beautiful coat and you certainly do not wanna put them in a sink with water. It has to be empty. Btw in my experience Chihuahuas hate water. If I have to I use dry shampoo. And they for shure do not have small, closed ear canals and do not cut or plug the hair there, no way.
chihuahuas shed a regular, normal amount. compared to labs (i had one, sadly he passed), they shed way less. on the topic of your pups not liking water, this may be due to them being freaked out by it. for example, if you bathe them in a bath, theyll be scared and cold because they dont know why you just put them in a big tub of water. showers are basically the same way. the thing that worked for my chihuahua was that i would put a dish rag on the ground of the shower so she could feel more stable and be able to sit down if she wanted to. mine doesnt like getting bathed in baths, but shes okay with showers. not bathing your chihuahua regularly (at least once every 2/3 months) is not good. if you have a long haired doggy, there could be something hiding under all that fur that you cant see even with brushing. on the topic of ears, its advised to clean them every once and a while. if theres to much fur near the ears to the point where its becoming a problem, go to your vet and/or groomer to have the fur dealt with.
also, it isnt good for your pups skin to use human dry shampoo. if youve found a good pup dry shampoo then thats okay, but human stuff might irritate their skin
another thing about the ears: he wasnt saying the outer area of the ear (the earlobe), he was talking about the actual ear canal. the ear canal is the very inner part of the ear which leads to the ear drum.

Long haired chihuahuas do not shed more than short haired chis. Short haired chihuahuas especially if they are double coated shed constantly.
I have doublecoated longbred girl that hate brushing each and every day.

I liked everything about this video except looming at it. The large bsnners hide too much of thè actual video.
My short haired sheds constantly

My chihuahua has a thick coat. It is hard to get shampoo out comletely.
Baby shampoo can be applied around the eyes and mouth area . Fact .
Baby shampoo is NOT FOR DOGS!!! It's has the WRONG PH level for their skin. Dog shampoo is already made to be used also around the face area

Here’s a tip, talk about fast hair growth fortified shampoo.
This video is great if you’re 10 years old
That's my mind set. I enjoy it too. 😌
@@junemaybe it's very informative and great for any age. There's always something else to learn from others. All information is always good.

No info on hairless Chihuahuas.
