Hi Suzy, I completely agree with you. It's the mentality I've always tried to live with. Society pushes us in another direction but we can be aware that happiness lies elsewhere. Of course, we all have desires that sometimes can't be fulfilled but let's focus on what we are already lucky enough to have.
What you said was so true. Choosing what resonates with our values even if it may seem countercultural is what brings us peace, and so it is worth it. Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead 🙏
Hello Ewa, I'm glad to hear how simplifying has been helping you in so many ways. Thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comment. Have a beautiful weekend ahead ❤
Suzy, thank you for teaching me the term Danshari. That actually is the definition of the life I live but had never heard that term before. As usual, another wonderful video.
Thank you, Carole. The concept is truly beautiful and a simple reminder of joy in simplicity. I'm always grateful for your kind comment. A lovely weekend to you ❤
I am in the process of minimalism but i still have lots of stuff because i still use things until they are worn out, but i have no intention of buying more or duplicates (like bags, clothes, mugs)
I believe having too many options is what causing the problems. And it does not have to be physical things only. For example, let's say if I am subscribed to your channel and also a few other channels (where the base concept/philosophy they are trying to promote and discuss is not Zen but maybe something else, like Stoicism, Buddhism, etc. etc.) - and if I try to follow all of those - eventually and surely that will probably lead to something of 'spiritual materialism' where we are unable to stick to only one philosophy and try to mix and match from all that we have learned about. That is also a dangerous thing I believe. :(
Thank you for sharing your insights. You are right about your observation that we have so many options, which can get overwhelming if we allow them to overwhelm us. But personally, I do my best to be intentional with choosing only what adds value to my life. Just like when I go to a shop, I can appreciate what I see but I don't have to bring them all home with me. I treat everything the same way whether physical or spiritual. 😊
@akashbart2765 , I understand that - I have a tendency to be like that sometimes too. I think curiosity and hunger for learning are helpful for sure in gaining new insights. But balance is always key. Wishing you a lovely day ❤

Couldn't agree more. Having more is not always leading Happiness.
So true, Dems. Quality over quantity 🙂

It is very easy to accumulate things we like, but soo hard to get rid away of them, especially if they are memorable, but space taking.
That's true! I still keep some old drawings my son made when he was very young. 🙂
Nice content
Thank you😊

@@ASlowSimpleLife I guess I should take a deeper look into my approaches. One week I am learning one thing, the next week another. 😅
