WOW surprised to hear Eddie say that the Burton tackle in Pies game was perfect tackle 😅 I've been legit saying that since... perfect tackle AND should have been holding the ball... bad umps.
Cheers Eddie for staying true there

I wouldn't say Boyd made the most of it. He did get hit in the head, concussion or no, you'll still go down for a second. Doubt he played for a free

Eddie is spot on re the rules. Pay high. Pay in the back. Ball it up faster. Stop suspending people for protecting their own body at the detriment of others. Start teaching players to protect themselves.

We were the beneficiary of a "no call" in 2021 when we ended Melbourne's 10 game winning streak ( umpire didn't pay deliberate out of bounds in the last few seconds of that game). All teams want is for umpires to make the call, no matter the stage in the game. This nonsense of umpires not wanting to influence the game... the PLAYERS' decisions influence the game, and the umpires need to penalise when players are in the wrong.

Unfortunately with the legal implications around concussion. What chance did Toby Greene or any other player have in a similar situation have ? Lawyer speak rules ?

I was sitting 6 rows back right in front of the hit. Toby 100% knew what he was doing, you could see his run up and the hit. Come on he's a gun player and you're telling me he didn't mean it. You're joking I saw him do it live and we knew what he was doing so I saying he did too. Again, the run-up he knew what was going to happen he knew it. After the hit, he knew he had done it. Look at the footage before and after the hit.

The one taking the risk is the guy running back with the flight, not checking what they're running into. It's an act where you're actually initiating a collision. Ed's right, Toby should have stuck in the knee like a specky and seen what the umps would say then. You shouldn't have to worry about someone running back with the flight.
New tactic, everyone runs backwards into leads causing the player to cancel their lead

You should write a letter to the AFL in the form of a victim impact statement.

If you accept duty of care then you have to look at a player’s actions before they leave the ground, not when they’re in the air. Was the player aware before they left the ground of the likelihood of hitting the other player? Surprisingly with Toby he had his eyes on the ball and the other player wasn’t coming directly at him from the other direction, they instead hit at angles. Toby’s intent was to mark on the chest in the air. If the player left the ground heading straight at another player then you can only expect to hit the other player high. In that case it shows lack of duty of care. The only thing in Toby’s case was that he would always be late to that contest which is a misjudgement of timing, and players do get done for that all the time. I thought he deserved a reprimand for that, but not a week. I don’t buy into past reputation arguments. Sounds like another word for bias to me.

  • @kotchstevens2321

The old VFA had 16 players a side. Perhaps the AFL could trial 16 per side in the pre-season games to see if there are less collisions there for making the game a little cleaner & safer?

  • @hinksyt2907

    AFL appeal this please!

I find it hypocritical that people called for Cameron’s suspension when tackling somebody who had an arm free and flopped his head on the ground compared to somebody jumping leaving the ground and hitting somebody in the head

  • @Ranga1412
    @Ranga1412 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

So now the only leading players option to avoid bracing and making head contact and getting suspended is for Toby Greene / Peter Wright to lift the knee to protect themselves and just start crushing ribcages and players going back with the flow will be stretchered off..

  • @daviecrockett2272

feel for greene theres not much in it exactly like peter wright, but if the afl tribunal is consistent he has to get weeks, its the exact same as peter wright both turned there body at the last minute only difference is cunningham got injured. so are we penalising the action or the outcome??

I keep thinking back to the Brayden Maynard incident, and comparing that to Toby Greene incident. Brayden got off so why shouldn't Toby get off a very similar hit. I also remember Jimmy's opinion back then, and Eddie's lol. The roles have reversed this time. GoPies.

I have totally lost something here. The goal umpires make the correct decision 99 out of a hundred shots on goal. Why are we making such a fuss about one bad call last year. This is such a storm in a tea cup. Get rid of the technology and just play
