It sounds terrible, but it is not as bad: There has to be a balance in a relationship, both sides have to contribute with something, otherwise it won't last. Therefore the beauty will not be enough in the long run as it fades away. You get children you have something to hold on. Show me a childless couple which works out for decades and look out for what keeps them in balance. Without children it is much harder.
