What do you mean by 8-counts in a bar? A bar in 4/4 has 4 beats so are the Octobounces on the eighth notes?

True, a 4/4 bar has 4 beats. In dance, those same 4 beats are an 8-count. If you hear a choreographer yell “5, 6, 7, 8”, it’s referencing how we translate bars. But yeah Octobounces would be considered on 8th notes.
