Was at a music festival in 2013 and missed these to watch someone else thinking they’d be boring live. Seeing this video makes me regret that, not as dreamy but lots of energy

I think the secret to their mad(great)ness is when Zach said he just plays 'What he wants'. If inspiration comes, it does, but he doesn't try to adhere to any general public. Just his own thoughts. Which is what automatism is all about and which is why I FREAKING LOVE this band :)

I think so too - very identifable guitar sound. They get more of a budget for the follow up? Wow. There is a lot to expand upon here with further instrumentation. Oshin may end up being my fave record of the year.

its funny how hes really inspired by nirvana but you don't hear a lot of nirvana from his music. which is cool

I would say you can hear it from All Apologies with it's oceanic-sounding "vibrating-tube?" guitar sound.
They're also influenced a lot by the old german band Neu!

Recently saw them live for the second time and damn they're good. This is an amazing recording. Also, they're so young here.
I will agree that the negativity in the indie community is a little high but this kind of music will never overtake teenie bopper stuff. It just is your cup of tea or isn't. Nothing wrong with that. I could jam to this all day but it isn't for everyone.

Definitely saving this one. Anticipation for the debut record just doubled for me. Shit they're better than Beach Fossils, who I also like... great, great chunk of music here.
Wow. And I thought 2012 was going to be a 'meh' year for music. But thanks to Captured Tracks -- from which we'll get new releases from Craft Spells, Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, and yes, best of all (at least from what I heard so far), Dive -- it might be an awesome year after all!

Esse é o DIIV que eu conheci. Infelizmente, depois do maravilhoso debut, não conseguiram lançar algo tão bom assim.
I always see diiv live and want to talk to cole, he seems like such an interesting person. But i feel like if i went up to him and just started saying how much his music inspired me and yeah yeha yeh he would just be creeped out.
this inspired me to learn how to play in slow motion
