Best show ever, and not just in the sci-fi genre. Mary McDonnell and Katee Sackhoff are the most complete talents on the show -- no denigration of the work of EJ Olmos, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, or ANY of the amazing talents who came together for this show largely because of the mission statement and world view of David Eick and Ron Moore, but Sackhoff and McDonnell are just, IMHO, the truly and staggeringly outstanding actors -- and characters -- on this superlative show.
such a brilliant woman, talented, stunning, eloquent, and far too good an actress. So often that people would give BSG too little credit and not just dismiss it as 'sci fi' from its name. McDonnel for president!
@jjj5541 I noticed how he character became more obsessed about her own feeling toward the fleet what what she felt was right, instead of what would have been legal and fair. In a way, Adama's style of leadership and how the crisis gave her more power seemed to have made her more pragmatic, which was evident when she tried to fix the election to get reelected. I thought the writers did a great job portraying a leader's gradual shift from ideal to corrupt.
@yiany , I loved the writing, possibly one of the best shows I have ever seen, and i needed a good one after "heroes" became a mess. Will always remember it, and miss it.
Miss the show and "Caprica" too! I have high hopes for BSG: Blood & Chrome but I also hope that the many sci-fi critics go back to being fans again. We're 2 shows away from sci-fi (in America) is going extinct.
They did do some make - up on her to make her look older & care - worn, as well as suffering from cancer, of course, but she IS a lovely woman. She also played the First Lady in " Independence Day " opposite Bill Pullman, & I think she was in " Fargo ".
i don't think she is in Fargo. But she is definitely in Dance with Wolves, and she is the amazing Dr. Virginia Dixon in Grey's Anatomy, the awsome cardiac surgeon with Asperger's syndrome.
Do you mean that she was full of her self throughout the entire interview, or just this one segment? To me it just seemed like a question had been directed at her and she answered accordingly. I'd like to watch the rest of the interview. This is just a clip and it's totally out of context.

I will second that! She's an amazing actress, an intelligent woman, an eloquent role model... and she's FRAKKIN' HOT!!!
I remember her as Stands With Fist from Dances With Wolves.
She is a very under rated actress. I hope she can get an oscar or emmy before she retires from acting.

wow, i love mary with all my heart. She seems so intelligent, and pretty, and amazing at acting.
Such a cool lady. I always loved her part in Donnie Darko. Her and the dad are probably the chillest movie parents ever.
I've said it before, and i will say it again. There is no limit to her talent, intelligence and beauty! Mary McDonnell is all kinds of hot.
She was in Donnie Darko as far as I remember!
So Say We All!
I'd elect her President over all the party-liner talking heads we have to chose from nowadays.
