Great patches🖤🔊✨John carpenter has always been a huge source of inspiration. I bought this when it came out but had so many problems I returned it. Your vid has me wanting to revisit one or just get a pro 600.
When these just came out I was sceptical AF and did not find one single good sound while searching for demos on YT. But, I have to admit that's slowly turning around. It's not really fair to compare this with the real deal Dave Smith synths, although Behringer choose to go down that path themselves. But for it's absurd low price it's a neat little thing that exponentially sounds better with some decent reverb and mixing.
Any modern music is recorded with effects, you can barely hear synth music without reverb. It all went to what genre of music you are playing. If mix are crowded i highly assume those detailes of much more expensive synths would be of any importance. For some minimalistic music i do agree it makes a difference.
God dammit man these are so good. Say what you want about Behringer (they suck) but pretty much all of these tabletop analogs genuinely sound great. I already have the ms20, wasp and cat and I see the pro800 in my future and probably more
Can anyone tell me what the music that starts on 1:30 is please! I was playing around n my Korg PA600 and started playing this exact tune. I kind of recognised it, but thought at the same time that I was imagining it being something. Thanks in advance :-) I only saw this vid as I've got a Deepmind 12...
Hi, great patch set, I've just purchased. I bought the Pro-800 yesterday (June 2024) and immediately updated the firmware to the latest version which I believe is 1.4.6 does this Patch set still work with this new firmware update, and if so, could you recommend a guide of how to add them please. many thanks
Hi, thank you for your support! Yes, the patch collection is compatible with the latest 1.4.6 firmware. Just please install the older set (ver 1.2.7), not the 1.3.7 one. If you're on a Mac download Sysex Librarian, or use MIDI-OX on PC. These two apps are a bit different, but with both you basically have to set up the connection between the computer and the Pro-800 (MIDI or USB port) then choose the library syx file (the bulk one from my folder, if you want to dump them all at once) and with one click you can dump all the presets to the Pro-800. (If you need any further help let me know if you're on a Mac or PC, and what connection you use, 5-pin MIDI DIN or USB and we'll take it from there.) Good luck with the Pro-800, it's a fantastic piece of gear! Here's my video about patch transfer on the Mac: th-cam.com/video/JiguwGFRtiY/w-d-xo.html
Got it all working via the SYNTHTRIBE app on windows. In the end it was really simple. I could also see only backup bank A (so I guess in the original machine there’s only bank A full). All good. Thank you very much the patches are a great place for my kid to start. He’s really happy
@@OpticalChaos Glad you got it working in the end! It sounds like you transferred the - factory - patches from the synth to the computer, not the other way around. (My video demonstrates both ways: Synth to Mac and Mac to Synth.) Next time all you need to do is just drag & drop the patch library syx into the SysEx Librarian main window and then double click on the file in there. It will copy the patches (78 patches) into Bank C on the Pro-800. Anyway, happy to hear that the Synthtribe app finally works! :)
@@NorbertVarga it’s perfect, thanks again. I deleted the previous comments as they were irrelevant now that you can update easier via the SYNTHTRIBE app, so as not to confuse other users.
The presets have nothing to do with receiving PC messages, that's down to the firmware of the Pro-800, as far as I know. But yes, the Pro-800 does accept program change messages. (This used to be an issue but was fixed in the latest firmware.)
That's awesome, well spotted! It's actually John Carpenter's "Assault on Precint 13" theme, which I guess was used as an inspiration for the Xenon 2 theme.
Just recorded the mono out. I used some reverb on most demos (The free Valhalla Supermassive), no other effects. The “chorus”-like effect you hear is probably some LFO modulation within the synth.
Thank you! For most patches I used a touch of reverb (Valhalla Supermassive). If you're looking for an analog poly synth the Pro-800 is hard - if not impossible - to beat for the price. And even beyond price/value it's just such an intuitive synth to use I was surprised how quickly I connected with it. ✌
The little Interstellar part made me 😢❤
I'm enjoying the patches AND playing "name that film (or TV series)"!
You've got some truly great sounds here - nice work!!
This is a beautiful patch set! Very lovely playing as well.
Nice woork, it would be super cool if you Made some melodic techno presets plucks and stuff, i would buye
So nice to hear would like to hear some Vangelis ,Europe and Van Halen as well

100% on the reverb

Great job.... RRRhhhh i don't remember the movie at 05:17 🙏
Thanks! That’s Scarface! ✌️
@@NorbertVarga Yes that's it !

That’s the theme from Interstellar by Hans Zimmer. ✌️

Xenon 2??!! No way did i just hear the theme tune to Xenon 2?? Childhood memory unlocked!

Does anyone know how to rename patches?
in synthtribe, you can also move them into bank a, b, c, or D easily etc
❤
sounds amazing! im gonna purchase that pack .. can i ask didi u just output on original MONO jack ? or into some chorus pedal to make it Stereo?
especially some chord pad stuff

this sounds really cool, great performance, any external FX used? ,Considering this for my next synth.

Hi. Nice patches. Could you tell me what midi keyboard are you using?
Thank you! Of course, it's a 20-year-old Generalmusic Pro-1 digital piano.
Merci!!!
