The Sennheiser is a pretty neutral mic, and would acquit itself nicely to variety of sources, including vocals and piano. I would think the pattern is fairly broad on it, so it will certainly capture an untreated room....
What I like about your playing is that you don't use a thumb pick and Alaska pik for your fingers. And yet you sound great. That's a really cool guitar. And cool guitarist as well.
Really wonderful playing Mr. Matsui! Makes me wonder what woods that guitar is made from, , it sounds so good, , oh and I just pulled the trigger on a Sennheiser MK4 today to record my guitar with, , was going with a Rode mic, , but this video changed my mind.
Do you have a tutorial for your stroking/picking technique? I would love that! Tried to copy the way you play, but some parts are bit tricky. Hope you see this! Great playing :) A true inspiration
Don't change a thing! You've hit on the perfect sound! Just a few questions: What studio is this? Can you read music? Do you have perfect pitch? Can you play anything that you hear?
