My personal theory as to why Xavier isn't classified as an Omega level mutant is because he actively holds himself back all the time. He has the potential to be an Omega level mutant but stops himself from reaching his max potential.
Yeah that makes sense. It's the same thing with Bobby Drake and especially Gambit.

@@nate7631 gambit doesn't hold himself back he doesn't know how to tap into his full potential. Hence the reason Mr Sinister had to operate on him to unlock that part of his "mind"

No he also holds himself back as well, or at least tried to before he had his powers nerfed. There's a version of him that actually had to learn how to hold back his power and soon gained control because if he didn't. He would have easily killed everyone on earth. Which is something that he still ends up doing.
Edit: Forgot to mention how the prime version of him stopped holding back and actually learned how to control his powers to go against the version of him that had complete mastery over his powers.
Well one thing he got wrong is what Omega level Exodus is. Exodus is an Omega Level Telekinetic not telepath
powerful enough to kill nearly every remaining mutant off with a mere seizure evidently.

Professor X is so powerful, the vast majority of the time the writers have to find some way to keep him off the battlefield.

Alpha Level Mutants have alot of power, but I feel as if they hold back or use their powers correctly(like in control of their powers). Omega level mutants have unlimited potential and holds almost immeasurable and outstanding power, but because of this, I feel that these mutants need to learn how to control and use their powers.

His feat against a phoenix host would've been better if it was a telepathic host like Phoenix Five Emma. Telepathy in Marvel has largely been tied to experience, like when Emma Frost fought displaced young Jean

He isn't considered omega level as he houses himself inside himself, like how Legion houses multiple mutant persona within him. This way Prof. X hides his true threat from unsuspecting enemies....or allies.
The one-time Xanier lost control of his powers, Onslaught was born. A being that almost single-handily defeated Marvel's entire hero roster and was only defeated after all the non-mutant heroes sacrificed themselves, only being saved at the last minute by Franklin who is the strongest omega-level mutant.

You forgot about the fact Xavier's telepathy was increased after Vulcan dropped him in the Mkraan crystal. After this Professor X's powers were stronger than they were previously.

I think Charles is able to battle the phoenix force cuz he is part of it or he had an eternal knowledge of it. Prior to Jean. Remember he locked it away from Jean as long as he could so she wouldn't bring it forth. So he knew of it's existence. He also limited his own ability from Omega level. As not to have is powers detected by cosmic beings that locate such power where it exists. Professor X is the parody of all destructive mindsets in the marvel universe
The fact that he isn't omega level shall forever bother my soul.
Charles Xavier is a very powerful, skilled and wise telepath but I think the reason why he isn't an Omega level mutant is because his power can be outbested or trump by another telepath ( Jean being the other telepath). Not only that, jean could potentially do alot more with her telepathy given time and practice, she's meant to outclass him. Also Alpha level mutants can defeat omega level mutants ( especially if the Alpha level mutant has skill and experience on their side).

Exodus's dominant power is telekinesis, so his telekinetic abilities are omega level not his telepathic abilities.
I think he intentionally keeps himself off the list of Omega Level Mutants for... reasons, lol.

Well if I remember correctly Charles was never an omega level mutant. He was considered an omega class telepath which I think is in reference to his skill. Him, Emma, and Quiten Quire all share that. In House of X his Charles definition of Omega means only one one person can be omega with their power set which is why he's not omega because Jean is a stronger telepath then him. Exodus is considered omega level in telekinesis btw not telepathy in House of X.
I always like to think xavier's is just so more skilled with telepathy than even omega level telepaths and that how he can overpower them

I always wonder, since Professor X is so powerful, where he can pretty much control people's mind and body. Then how come he cant control his body so he can walk. Like how Dr. Strange controls his body because isnt dr. Strange technically paralyzed too?
So I'm not very well versed X-Men lore, but why is the newer panels of Charles no longer paralyzed?
Also isn't he not supposed to have telekinetic powers? How is blasting a sentinel away NOT telekinetic? Is he supposed to have messed his mind up so much that the sentinel just threw himself backwards? -Thanks in advance!

I feel like an Alpha level mutant and Omega level mutant don’t necessarily have a better to the other. Alpha level mutants have known limits to their powers but still could possess immeasurable power in other areas. As an example, Kryptonite can hurt and even incapacitate Superman, but he has immeasurable strength and power despite this known limit.
