Fully agree with you! The theming in forbidden valley is amazing with the shop, station and almost everything else making it compete with some European theme parks theming. There is no way they intend for that arcade to stay and if they do want to keep it that shows that Merlin will never compete with most European theme parks and they are cheap.
What you're saying makes sense .... They've poyentially laid the bare bones for a fairly rapid installation of a new flat on the next closed season ....
Things which could indicate the arcade is temporary are, the electrics for the grabbers are temporary, they really wouldn't run a permanent supply on the outside of the building and there are no permanent network sockets for the grabbers. The indication that the area could be a lot bigger in the future is the new fire alarm system, they have only used one slot on a multi slot control panel, why invest in such a system if they are not going to us it in the future.

That hasn’t stopped them before though to be fair
You have a point that looks like the most temporary thing I've ever seen
Towers budgets have disappeared for the next few seasons with what was spent on nemesis.. and hi sean hope you well 👍🏻
Oh there’s still flat rides and plenty of them which aren’t cheap still to come! I’m good, you?
if nemesis bring in the crowds then we will see a lot more investment in to towers.
Looks like bowl a drome at pb😅
Grim
Disliked it
We just have to put up with it for now
Everything about it is great, apart from what it is
haha right?!
Bit of a shame lol😂
we just have to put up with it for a bit 😂
Ah well.. the R-Cade is an arcade (for now!)
FOR NOW
This feels like a cheap way to bring the park more money before they actually do something with the building. Why am I not surpeised they cheaped out😂
I’d rather them do this and make $$ then leave the biggest building in the area closed all season, something is better than nothing
What a waste of space! It looks like it belongs on the seafront at skegvegas 😂
We just have to tolerate it for a season or two 😂
Nah, Merlin are just idiots who are trying to make money
I’d agree if this was staying an arcade
Sean stop... Calm down... Breath!!! It was obviously not intended to be an arcade... Whether the arcade is now just a temporary measure, or a more long term measure due to budget cuts, remains to be seen. I personally think it's still very temporary. But whatever the plan is now, a like for like arcade was clearly NOT the original plan (and is hopefully not the long term plan.)
Relax dude, anybody celebrating their notion that you were wrong is, firstly, a little bit weird and secondly, ejacu***ing prematurely.
I'm glad you think I'm this wound up about an arcade.... whatever gets the views right? aha oh there's lots of weird folks out there, it wouldn't be a theme park space without them
@@LiftHillsandThrills I mean, you did come across a bit annoyed in that video... Not surprising if your phone's been pinging all morning though... I figured it was more an annoyance at the initial assumption this meant you were wrong, than annoyance at an arcade per se.
My comment though, was not a dig at you for being 'wound up.' I was agreeing with you, and having a dig at anybody who thinks this arcade was the plan all along. Probably shouldn't have told you to relax, even if it was tongue in cheek. 🤣 You're clearly a man on the edge! 😉😜🤣
@@coasterfest 😂 tone is so hard to convey across here… I don’t really do annoyed… but I hope that if ever I am it’s more blatantly obvious outside of my tongue in cheek pisstaking 😂
@@LiftHillsandThrillsYeh, context in text / comments is just as hard!!! Often find myself typing something, that to me is blatantly a joke, or tongue in cheek, but different people can read things very differently, and take them in an entirely different context.
I like your videos Sean, I’ve been into coasters for over 30 years, and I’ve been around TH-cam for a hell of a long time too. Your videos always seem genuine, down to earth, and yet often more informative than most. I like the fact you don’t just rehash rumours and news that I read on the forums, twitter or reddit days ago, it’s what sets you apart. :) So when you say there’s more to something than meets the eye, I’m inclined to agree, especially when the evidence backs you up. :)
@@coasterfest I appreciate the comment! It means a lot
It's a arcade and it'll stay as a arcade, remember that merlin don't run the arcades and games, they are outsourced to HB Leisure who have no interest in theming
This is not staying as an arcade Andy, there are at least 5 main reasons in this video on top of the many other reasons (electrical outlets and more) that fly over my tiny little head. HB Leisure do not design the spaces that their machines go in they are units that are sent to parks and it's up to the park to house them in any such way they see fit. This building will stay as an arcade for the time being, until its true purpose will be revealed when phase 2 of Forbidden Valley is underway
Copium
Just going to save this comment for future reference. Fancy explaining why you think it'll stay as an arcade and if so, why did they tear down the original building and build one twice the size to host the exact same arcade units? Looking forward to your reply ;)
I pray its temporary but merlin are just so greedy I have no faith in them! Could have named it after Percy! Hes gone but not forgotten 😂
It’ll be temporary for a season or two
Yeah I’ve been in there this morning it looks totally out of place
It will do until it's replaced
@@LiftHillsandThrills what a lame addition. The arcade is massive but is actually bare inside
@@davesteele6154 Temporary 😊
