I think it's just second nature for Gabriel to use whistle notes in most of his songs. He was a guest on the Jennifer Hudson show recently and he told her that he had been listening to music from Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey since he was about 3 years old. One day his dad who is a musician and music director heard him singing to the music and realized that he loved singing even at that age. You won't find very many songs without whistle notes but recently he has been doing a few that don't have them. He just released one recently called The Way We Were by Adele that does not have a whistle note. I hope you continue to react to him because just remember that those high notes came from the influence of the iconic singers he learned from. From everything I've read, Gabriel is basically self-taught from just listening to his idols over and over through the years.
He has a great voice and all the runs aren't needed to show what he's got. I have started listening to you when I first get up because you are always so cheerful.Hubby says it puts me in a better mood as I am not and never will be a morning person. So thanks for making mornings better, :)
