The Big 12 is .500 against the SEC over the past 6 years at 12-12. The Big 12 is 2-1 this year with an atrocious 3 win OK State team beating a bowl eligible Arkansas team and the only SEC loss is a 4 win UCF team against a bowl eligible Florida team that just beat back to back top 25 teams, but they could only beat UCF by 10. The Big 12 is over .500 at 210-207 combined against the Pac, SEC, ACC, and Big 10 since 1998. That is why Big 12 fans and media gripe, is because the blue blood tinted glasses bias is alive and well.
In Boise here and a supporter. I have not been happy with the performance in last few games. Having said that, nobody in the big 12 has been particularity impressive either. No matter how far down other teams are 2 loss, 3 loss, 4 loss - this argument is going to be made every time. The SOS and win/loss record are all considered for the rankings and then a few bias points are thrown in for SEC teams. You can't decide later on "well.. I know how what the records and rankings show but I want *that* team over there because of reasons"
Listen to his logic. You can't argue with things like Sagarin power rankings and strength of schedules. There are algorithms behind those, and frankly, that's more persuasive to me than biased fan opinions.
@@JT-rx1eo SOS is overinflated based on pre-assumption of teams pre season rankings. The leader of the Little 12 conference had to come from behind to beat Texas State...LOL,
And if they were in the Big 12, which they never would be because they are essentially a community college level institution, they would get ground up in the Big 12 meat grinder like the current Big 12 programs do. But Boise State (😂) takes advantage of its easy week-to-week schedule to be ready to shine when they play bigger and better programs.
If we were big 12 we would be just as good if not better because our recruiting would be at a higher level. Boise is a smaller city we have football and a marginally good basketball program but not much else so the bigger programs aren’t jumping to add us

Thats a lot of history to bet against....
Once again you show petty bias against Boise. Thanks. Boise is a team that plays with a chip on their shoulder. Teams need to win in November. Boise has had some key guys go down and yet they keep winning. Now, some of those players are coming back. BTW, Boise has the best RB in the country. It is pathetic that you keep whining for a bye for the Big 12.
They have 11 spots and gave the little guy an automatic not thinking it would ever make a difference it does in the first year. Our SOS is bad because our conference is bad.
Yeah, no excuse for BSU. No one else has bad games in college football. That's why Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M all lost to unranked teams last week.
This guy is a BYU fan right? It all makes sense now. Hold the phone if Boise State gets a bye, plays at home& beats an Ohio St/Ariz St. That blue turf is not a place ANY team wants to play.
maybe your best team shouldn't lose 2 games? same thing we say to the SEC you are no better this is a bad look for the Big 12 for sure, wins matter especially for a conference like the Big 12.
It’s funny, bye rhymes with cry, because that is all you do. Put any Little 12 school up against Oregon and they would lose by 30 points, not 3 like Boise State did.
UNLV is 2-0 vs the BIG12. - They beat Kansas in their house (who just beat the top 2 contenders back to back) - They beat Houston (who beat K State) What metric is being used to discredit them? Is a loss to 8-3 Syracuse in 2OT in their first game with a new QB that concerning? Its unfortunate but the reality is that the BIG12 does not have a great team this year. A bunch of C+ to B+ teams. No A's, but no D's or F's. That's why is think its tough for them to produce a standout contender. The ACC has a bunch of D's and F's that the top dogs can beat up on.
Boise State schedule is HORRIBLE sorry, look at it. If they were in the Big 12 they would be 9-3, 8-4. They BARELY beat 2-9 Wyoming and a horrible 3-8 Nevada.
I'm thinking that Boise States loss at Oregon really doesn't go against them much since they really gave Oregon a fight and a huge scare at HOME in Eugene in a game that could have easily been a win for them. The rest are all W's and that sums it up. Sagarin or not. The CFP committee may be looking squarely at it in this manner on a team by team basis. Desiring to not go with the Big Brands or the Big Conferences, but to do what is best for the Love of the College football game and isn't that what most of us really want?
I think the top 4 seeded teams should get the bye that only makes sense to me. I’m not complaining though if someone set it up for Boise to get a bye that’s just the system let it all play out
No one would be talking about this if the big 12 didn't suck. This is not your dad's big 12 conference and everyone is expecting it to be good, without Texas and Oklahoma.
As a Wyoming fan I stayed up late to watch that game. Wyoming is bad. Our starting QB got concussed and we pulled our TE, once starting QB, to play QB. And we almost won. Boise is bad.
I'm just grateful we are leaving this sorry ass conference so we don't have to travel to that dump of a town. After Boise leaves get ready for no one to care about this conference ever. Peace.
Sad as a Wyoming fan you denigrate your own program. Wyoming is one of the better teams in getting other teams off the field on third down. WY had a solid plan against Boise…they used the full clock to shorten the game, and the made some big plays. For WY, Boise was their Super Bowl and they played their best game of the year and lost. On the other hand Boise played their worst game of the year and won. All respect to the WY Cowboys who laid out and came to play. Shame on you for not recognizing your team playing their heart out and showing up.
Your analysis doesn't stack up. Sounds like you're using the same old tired "But P5 > G5". That's been untrue this season for sure. Big 12 looks like a very weak conference and I'm not even sure how they could continue as a P5 conference. There are a few teams in the MWC which would stack up well against the Big 12. I definitely think any top 3 teams in the Big 10 or SEC can beat any Big 12 team. I definitely don't see any Big 12 team keeping a close score with Oregon! Do you? If you think yes, then your analysis is biased and not realistic. A one loss BSU seems at least as good as this year's 2 loss Big 12 teams. Yes, the season isn't over with and BSU could answer all the sad Big 12 fans with a loss. I doubt it though.
If the Big 12 is weak this year, wouldn't that make the SEC just as weak? The same thing is playing out over there, but when they cannibalize each other it is a credit to their strength. The Big 12 is doing it and they are all seen as inferior. It doesn't add up. I think Boise is good. I don't think they are a bye round seed good. Maybe 7 seed or something. They would have 3 losses in the Big 12 right now. Jeanty would be the 4th best running back in the conference behind Harvey, Brooks, Neal, and Giddens. I think he would pace well ahead of Skattebo.
@ I think you misunderstand me. I’m a huge Jeanty fan and as things stand this year, I think he deserves the Heisman.I think he is a great running back, but the Boise line playing in the big 12 would not have half the success. 4th seems very fair considering.
THE reason Boise is in front is because of B12 performance vs. UNLV, and they only lost to Oregon by 3, and Oregon had to squeak one out to beat Boise the first time ever. It's pretty much cut and dried.
What is also cut and dry, if ASU wins out it likely plays a ranked team in the conference championship. That would be 3 ranked wins in the last 4 games. It also beat Wyoming 37-0. That meets the eye test and ASU will leap frog Boise. If KSU beats ISU it becomes ranked again. It also means BYU plays ASU again (if it beats Houston) and if it wins that is 3 ranked wins for BYU. Further, it would have a top ten win over SMU who could also be a P4 conference champion or playoff team. There is no way BYU doesn’t get a bye in that scenario. Top 10 wins are better than top 10 losses. Idaho only lost by 7 to Oregon but that doesn’t mean it should be ranked 1 in FCS. It is only 9-3 there.
Id be concerned, but then again Boise has an insane home record..... It used to be automatic you have no shot, but still in the last 28 years they have lost just 16 times ever at home Just ask the state of Utah how easy it is - Utah, BYU and USU are a combined 1-38 at Boise all time.
The are going to tweek the rules for next year making it so conference championships don't guarantee you a bye, just a spot. The bracket is determined by your rankings with the caveat that a conference champ not in the top 12 rankings still gets in the playoff. Nobody in their right mind thinks Boise should potentially get a bye by being a conf champ when they are clearly not one of the best 4 teams, same with Miami.
The national rankings & conference ratings are never accurate. Thats why they need to have non biased computers pick the CFP bracket, then just play the F games man!
Yea, and BYU lost to a Kansas team who a)has a losing record and b)lost at home to the same UNLV team that Boise St when on the road and beat. Colorado has zero wins over teams in the playoff top 25.
This is not the same UNLV team - UNLV's starting QB left the team shortly after the KU game because of NIL non-payment. Also, this version of KU is much better than early season KU.
You sound like a Kamala voter. Always a victim. Saying Bsu wouldn't be ranked if in Big12 is horse crap. Remember both BYU and Utah both were in the MTN West, and Bsu used to manhandled both. Grow up!
The problem with the Big12 is they are literally the crumbs of the rest from every conference. All the good teams out of the PAC are in the B1G. BYU isn’t good sorry. Boise and UNLV would have no problem in the Big12 this season. You talk about Boise’s close win over Wyoming all while BYU and Colorado can’t say they had a close win because THEY LOST! Boise is not out here recruiting slugs with no talent. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOUR PISSED THAT THE BIG12 DIDN’T SNAG BOISE STATE. Stop crying, if your teams would win then this wouldn’t be an issue.
Everyone not with an SEC or B1G patch being left to squabble over the table scraps. Despite there being no dominant SEC teams and the SOS of 90% of the B1G being weak.
The SEC and Big 12 are the same in 2024: ranked teams losing to unranked teams. Dissing the Big 10 who doesn't have that problem isn't going to move up the SEC teams.
Soon we will know I suspect Boise will be seated at 4 in playoffs. If they win out they retain that seat. Next year find ways to win instead of finding ways to loose. A 1 loss Boise is just better than a 2 loss bigbaby12
And Michigan beat Ohio State so what's your point? Boise mistakes LED them to lose to Oregon. They outplayed Oregon the number one team in the country boy she deserves it's spot because no matter what they keep winning
Who has Boise and SMU beaten? Patsy schedules, so the committee is relying on the eye test? Thats funny. My eye test says half the Big 12 could beat Boise and SMU 9 times out of 10. Lets see it.
Stop hyping up Boise State star running back Ashton… he has a team nearly undefeated. This is true and the only loss was on a field goal as expired when he had his team up by two scores and special teams let Oregon have to punt and kick returns scores to barely beat BSU. Yes, they have the ranked teams. And yes, he leads the nation in yards after contact by a long ways and every other meaningfulcategory he is number one in. But Hunter plays on both sides of the ball and runs around and plays away from the ball for about 150 snaps a game and that takes a lot of cardio. I know he’s not breaking any records are in the top 10 on either side of the ball, but just Look at the edited clips of Hunter. He catches a ball wide-open and the defenders take bad angles and run by them and they start the video and he runs on touch for an easy task down. I mean that’s amazing or the two out of three interceptions that he’s had this season or two of them were tipped balls very easily caught by him of which anyone could’ve done I mean that’s kind of amazing when you add up the fact that he has a really good cardio.

Wyoming has improved and BSU has stagnantly declined over time and playing in laramie in november can be very difficult because laramie wyoming is a very very dreary cold and very windy place to play in winter. However to say Moore struggled - thats a hard no.
@@MattBuild4 Moore was an anomaly for Boise. There will never be another set of seasons like that ever again.
Folks hate the Big12 because you cry to damn much!
The last time the SEC was in the national title game was the same year as the Big 12 after they beat the Big 10 champion. The Big 12 is over .500 at 210-207 combined against the Pac, SEC, ACC, and Big 10 since 1998.
That is why Big 12 fans and media gripe, is because the blue blood tinted glasses bias is alive and well.
Let's be real. It's really the Little 12 conference.
@shayze08 So what's that make the SEC since we are .500 against them in the NIL era?

And if they were in the Big 12, which they never would be because they are essentially a community college level institution, they would get ground up in the Big 12 meat grinder like the current Big 12 programs do. @@JT-rx1eo Why would we want to join the Little 12 conference? silly goose.

Once again you show petty bias against Boise. Thanks. Boise is a team that plays with a chip on their shoulder. Teams need to win in November. Boise has had some key guys go down and yet they keep winning. Now, some of those players are coming back. BTW, Boise has the best RB in the country. - They beat Houston (who beat K State)
What metric is being used to discredit them? Is a loss to 8-3 Syracuse in 2OT in their first game with a new QB that concerning?
Its unfortunate but the reality is that the BIG12 does not have a great team this year. A bunch of C+ to B+ teams. No A's, but no D's or F's. That's why is think its tough for them to produce a standout contender. The ACC has a bunch of D's and F's that the top dogs can beat up on.

Boise State is Americas team.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Boise has been on autopilot. As long as they’re winning, I don’t see an issue.
Big 12 has to talk about Boise state to justify being relevant.
Tells you all you need to know.
Unlv might go into Boise and win that game. They play great on road
If they both win this wk and play in mwc game
Id be concerned, but then again Boise has an insane home record..... It used to be automatic you have no shot, but still in the last 28 years they have lost just 16 times ever at home
Just ask the state of Utah how easy it is - Utah, BYU and USU are a combined 1-38 at Boise all time.

Big 12 is just MW 2.0 at this point
The national rankings & conference ratings are never accurate. Thats why they need to have non biased computers pick the CFP bracket, then just play the F games man!
Yea, and BYU lost to a Kansas team who a)has a losing record and b)lost at home to the same UNLV team that Boise St when on the road and beat. Colorado has zero wins over teams in the playoff top 25.
BYU has a Top 25 win as well. The UNLV beat Kansas argument is irrelevant.
Exactly. They love to ignore basic fact.
BYU also blew out Wyoming
This is not the same UNLV team - UNLV's starting QB left the team shortly after the KU game because of NIL non-payment. Also, this version of KU is much better than early season KU.
Kansas in the first half of the season was nothing like Kansas in the last half of the season.
