I really hope that whatever they said they planned on doing in the future isn’t just glitch inn stuff or slice of life shorts or whatever, because there’s so many things they could’ve shown if they didn’t rush it. First off what happened to J after she just…fell to who knows where?? She was obviously not dead, and why was she repairing a ship in the credits? It would’ve also been better if they showed how J reacted to finding out who she was really working with, since she said she was tricked too, and Tessa was like the only person she really cared about…. Also, Khan and uzi really should’ve had some sort of interaction towards the end, considering uzi wasn’t there to see how he went from her useless dad to fighting the apocalypse….after all, she did mention in the pilot that she did want to save the world and gain the respect of her dad, which she did do, but they kinda just brushed this off. Plus they never explicitly revealed who “killed” nori, and it would’ve been very interesting to see what it would’ve done to n and uzi’s dynamic. Not to mention how both of uzi’s parents were clearly opposed to her being ‘friends’ with n, but then they’re seen together in the credits playing cards like nothing happened. AND LASTLY DOLL. IM STILL SO MAD THEY DID HER DIRTY LIKE THAT. I’m not saying I’m opposed to killing someone off but they could’ve done so much more with her, like shown what her life was like when the solver first awakened in her, or even give her some sort of redemption in the end, like having her sacrifice herself for the others in a fight against cyn, or having her interact more with the others, since all anyone else knew her for was being a red eyed freak. I could list more but I’m sure a lot of other people are thinking the same thing. Not to mention that at the end of episode 7, n literally lost everyone (or at least thought he did) he cared about, but at the start of the finale he’s all happy go lucky again and the sacrifice is brushed off really quickly. It just seems like all of the build up in ep 7 went nowhere in the finale which probably would’ve gone better if they took more time and spread it out over 3 episodes so it could be 10 in total, but oh well Thanks for listening to my rant :3 (not saying I didn’t like the finale though, and I do get that each episode takes a crazy amount of work, time, and money. )
"Beautifully Tragic" are very good words to use to describe Episode 8. Not only because of the fact that it's the final episode, but also because of just the fact that with a few tweaks and rewrites, this episode would've EASILY been elevated to a level never seen before. J is gonna get her Justice one day, if we're lucky...
J was very obviously always meant to be a joke character. The series hardly takes itself seriously. It's very bipolar on what kind of story it wants to be
A lot of things are unresolved, like how did V fight off the sentinels? We have seen that they are capable of ripping a disassembly drone apart with ease. What happened to the other solver infected planets? What happened to Yeva(if Nori could survive, so could Yeva)? Are the humans truly dead(in the star map Tessa uses to show the infection of the AS, there are 2 colonies whose paths aren’t red, and since red indicates it’s an infected planet, that would mean there are 2 human holdouts out there, granted it could be an animation error.) Also, Cyn being defeated with such ease kinda breaks the show, like if she was this easy to defeat, Humanity would have wiped it out with ease. It’s not a bad episode, but it’s not good for the SERIES FINALE.
I feel that ep. 8 encapsulates the fundamental problem of the entire series. How it fits the story into 8 episodes. If some episodes were longer, or there were one or two more, to give everything weight, I feel we'd be golden. This isn't just a fan whining that Murder Drones ended, in fact especially nowadays, now that things can't seem to just die, so it's nice to see a definitive end. But I feel is just an issue, as it gives barely any time to revel in the story. It's just too big to fit in the time given. Hopefully if we do get things like shorts or a spinoff, or even just comics, it will dive into these parts, (kinda like MD Intermission did) and make up for the lost potential.
Episode 7 and 8 *were* meant to be released together before the glitch drama and the subsequent delay. These two episodes when slapped together just feel one big one. That being said. I like it. I need to sit on it a bit more but it does feel like more of a 'season' finale rather than a 'series' finale. We got some interesting revelations. Who knows where we’ll go from here.

I loved the choice of words. As we all know, it's all about balance. Do we want to have action-rich episodes with perfect details? Yes. As long as we also care about a rich script with good stories. They were in a hurry, and they bet on simple things, like action and lots of "lights and colors with explosions". They could have reduced the graphic quality, we would still be satisfied, and invested more in developing the story's plot.
Ya know, it was a great episode, but at the end of the day, it created more questions than it *solved*, and made it feel like there was meant to be a season 2, I really think that there needs to be accompanying media like a spinoff in order to tie up all the loose ends, and Ima just say, a "Tales of the Murder Drones" Series would go INSANELY hard as a way to tie those loose ends.
9:25 V and J’s personality core motivations weren’t a mystery, the show gave us a pretty good sense of J’s character even from episode 1 and 5 (also the merchandise training video) even without J in episode 8, we are already shown a lot of her character, as well as how she contrasts the protagonist and the overarching themes woven into the narrative. J is focused on perfectionism and living up to the human’s rigid expectations at JCJenson. Order, integrity, self-control, resistance to change, and dogmatism are all corner stones of her personality and the root of her struggles. We see she grew up idolizing the authority figures in her life from episode 5 and she learned that she needs to follow the rules and adhere to the guidelines of the company. Now, episode 8 does give us more insight into how J’s response to higher powers continues to manifest and rear it’s head even with knowing that it is no longer the company in control.
While there are many flaws in the show, the fact it was completed is a big win. Hopefully that will encourage Liam to improve while encouraging him to complete his projects.

the only thing i can say is that episode 8 was a good episode but man that ending was NOT good for a series finale but i have a feeling that this episode did really need to be a longer but it could be very possiblr that hr changed the script multiple times to make the episode but i am not saying that to say that he made it bc he thought we would be "mad" if it was sad i dont want to point fingers and i really feel like this is just a bit of a weird way to end it because so many questions are still left to be answered for example we still didnt know who tried to kill nori and stuff like that and just making people more mad about not having a season 2 and i know this episode was prepared for a year and i understand the reason why it was so short but the action almost had us no time to breath so what i can rate of the points of the episode
Rating
Action:10/10
Best action i have probably ever seen in indie animation and shows how far we can go about how a indie company can make the action packed scenes
also it was also kind of scary i should say.
characters:7/10
Not the best way they could've done it but i loved V in this episode N didnt do too much and Uzi was a but cringey but thats how uzi was khan didnt do anything along with nori also Cyn was nerfed HARD
Story/ending:5/10
it had some decent points but just in general the ending and bringing back V and stuff wasn't the best they couldve done and also i felt really weird why they made uzi and N sort of overpowered it just felt forced.
but in general i can only say this is a 7/10 at best 6/10 at worst i am not dissapointed bc i know the circumstances but it was a bit more unexpected then i thought
just remember that be happy that we could watch this in the first place.
Fair enough
Everyone says in video about murder drones tbat jt is fast but I never felt fast
Oooo yeah I love episode 8 i watched episode 8 it was the 9th episode I watched and I loved it. I love your videos mr dire I am 12 years old from montana my mom watched with me we loved the show. I was watching and i saw J was mean and i hated it so i was glad with the ending. N got dun dirty this episode I wish N had a better ending I wanted Uzi to beat everyone and N to lose but yeah I loved it. I watched it eating dinner with my momma and i will miss it. my dad comes home soon and we miss him. i hate school and i dont want to go back. theres a man at my school who cleans the classrooms and he is creepy, he says i am pretty and asked me to stay behind one day but i wanted to watch episode 8. his name is mr jones and he has a room with a big ceiling fan and a bunch of pills. idk what his plan is but I never went with him because i wana watch merder drones more. thank you for your videos mr duck even though i am homophobic i dont mind you are gay. god bless and i hope there is a season 2 because this episode sucked

Ep 8's only saving grace is the animation and the soundtrack. The rest is just awful. 4/10 *at best*
