I like that you said “groups”, not “”bands”-for two reasons, partly because I’m just so sick of hearing about “bands”, especially from people who seem to think a rock band the only kind of band there ever was or could be, and also because I’m nostalgic for my childhood when, as far as I can remember, no one ever called a rock group anything but a rock group (yes, I’m old). I’m wondering why you capitalized “one”, though. That would seem logically to diminish the standing of The Bee Gees.
So simple, and yet so numbingly repetitive and completely demented. I’m assuming this hyperbolic fixation on La pluie has something to do with The Bee Gees returning to England from Australia.
Unpopular opinion: I think Saturday Night Fever is the least interesting work they've ever done. Of course, that ended up being their most enduring work and people don't really listen to World or I started A Joke. Or Massachusetts.
Que canción más linda,la mejor época de los Bee Gees, que jóvenes eran y que grandes canciones compusieron! Inolvidables! Desde Uruguay, 2024! En los sesenta yo era pequeña!
I have heard this hundreds and hundreds of times still gives me goosebumps and the steel guitar part towards the end and vibrato still makes me want to cry each and every time.
Mandy Robinson. I know exactly what you mean. So many memories come flooding back. I was in my very early teens. Wish I could go back there just for one day and all my loved ones would still be here. I miss them all so much 😭😭

Such an amazing song.. Well into my 50's now, the Bee Gees have been a huge part of my life. My first memory of 'World' was back as a little boy in the early 70's. I remember getting the 45 and playing it to death. I think I nearly drove my parents to insanity. Over the years have loved many Bee Gees songs but something very special about this one. Such an amazing sound. Thank you for sharing. RIP Maurice and Robyn ❤

Ive just left a comment on another song saying it used to me cry when i was little and my mum played it....this also used to make me cry. And yet again, no one in my age group knows of this masterpiece.
Not Fourth brother, Andy, but quite possibly their producer in London at the time who was Spanish. His name escapes me at the moment. They worked with him after the Beatles producer. He is named in the documentary on Bee Gees on TH-cam.He was very "hands on" and loved being involved on set. There ya go.Good Luck from their old home town in Queensland Australia, Redcliffe.Saw Barry here last week.
Brian Epstein was the manager of the Beatles Robert Stigwood was the Bee Gees manager but they both were in the same company, Epstein wanted to make sure the Bee Gees would not upstage the Beatles sorry but they did !
Two possibilities for the 6th man..... 1/ Wil Luikinga, a Dutch disc jockey as suggested below. He was a DJ on Radio Veronica, one of the pirate radio stations that promoted pop music in the sixties. Certainly his photos suggest this. 2/ Bill Shepherd, the orchestral arranger of all the early Bee Gees hits. He certainly has a similar moustache in some photos.

They did so many songs during their long careers but this is still my favourite
Why? (My favorite is “Blue Island”. It’s the only one I can think of that really seems to be trying to say something.)
