- Hello! Today I'm reviewing the reading goals I set myself last year, if I achieved them, and what I thought of the ones I read.
I hope you're all having a great 2025 so far, and are enjoying reading at your own pace.
📚 I am Currently Reading: 📚
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
Frankenstein by Mary Shelly
Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis Baldree
I gave closed captions a go on this video. Let me know if you found them helpful/useful, or any notes on formatting if relevant.
See ya!
I think you succeeded with the most important goal of finding enjoyment in reading again. Wether you read the specific titles or not doesn’t really matter, there still around, you can read them whenever. Well done. Reclaiming fun is no small task, I applaud you.
I’ve got Handmaid’s Tale on my list this year, can’t wait and also dreading it, but I’m expecting it to be a favorite. My favorite read from last year was The Mare by Angharad Hampshire, and if you’re interested in control and things like that, that book was very illustrative of that, let’s say. Short chapters, I couldn’t put it down. Think you might like it.
Song of Achilles wasn’t my favorite either. I enjoyed it and thought it was good, I liked the young love aspect to it, but it wasn’t as magical of a reading experience as Circe. Give Galatea a go, short story by Miller.
I'm glad you found joy in reading again!
Way to go Elmo! You crushed that goal! Glad you enjoyed some even if they were a bit heavy at times!
Still not got to Brave New World yet, it is another one sitting on shelf. I have heard good things about Horns, only read a couple of Hill's short stories but really enjoyed them.We don't talk about Hunger Games, one day I will get to them lol.I started listening to The Handmaid's Tale, but I was not paying enough attention so I need to go back and start again. Great video my friend!
I've been wanting to read The man who mistook his wife for a hat!
The Jeanette McCurdy book was fantastic, such a candid telling of her life. She was brave to write that book.
Well done for tackling your book goal!
I read the Hunger Games series when it first came out. I loved the first and second books, but was kind of "done" with the series once I got to the third. But that was just me - I am definitely in a different age group than the series was intended - for one thing. I did enjoy the Hunger Games movie which doesn't always happen for me after I've read and enjoyed the book. You have a very nice channel!
