    The wide availability of Russell’s 10 is why I will never break my back trying to find a price gouged Eagle Rare in Texas. It’s just great!

    • @WaterMelon-Cat
      @WaterMelon-Cat ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never understood the hype behind Eagle rare. Honestly for 10 years it is kind of disappointing. I'd prefer Woodford double oaked for an even cheaper price.

      @@WaterMelon-CatLast Eagle Rares I bought were $29.99. That’s the correct price. For that money it was a good pour. Inflated secondary for ER is just dumb.

      Russels 10 is better anyways. That’s right I said it. Come and get me taters.

      Russel’s Reserve 10 - It’s my go to!!!! with a rare 12yo every now and then…… hope to grab a 13yo soon

    For under appreciated, I think the Four Roses Single Barrel 100 is often overlooked. At that price point, it seems like a solid value to me.

    Benchmark Full Proof and Bonded are great budget whiskies, my current favorite cheap pours. But they have a different profile from GTS altogether, even though they are the same mash-bill.
    I have a Benchmark Single Barrel that kind of has the GTS thing going on, but it's just not the same at the lower proof.
    Hey, Buffalo Trace,.. we need a Benchmark Full Proof Single Barrel. Call it Stagg The 3rd,...make it happen!

    Another great review. I've always wanted to try the JTS Brown, but we don't see any in NC. I always have and enjoy Knob Creek and Russells Reserve, they are my two of my everyday go to bourbons. I'm not a fan of Very Old Barton and for some reason, it is an allocated bourbon in NC. I really like the Chattanooga Bottle in Bond more than the cask strength. My under appreciated bourbon list would include Wild Turkey 101, Old Grandad bottled in bond, Early Times bottled in bond, Coopers Craft 100 proof and 1792 Small Batch. The great thing about bourbon is to each his/her own.

    Barrel Seagrass is the best whiskey that has ever touched my lips. Everything from Barrel, I’ve loved. They offer different flavors that no one else is offering.

      Barrel Seagrass Gold Label will blow your mind then. It is expensive but so good.

    Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon is one of my favorites. It has great flavor and is readily available, a tad pricey at $55. The story behind the company is great, and im always happy to support veteran owned businesses.

    Solid list guys. Chattanooga 111 is always on my shelf. Locally, for me , only $37.99. Fantastic deal.

    As someone who is done chasing the new, unique, allocated, hot, latest bourbons, this video is way more up my alley than many others. Thanks for sharing it. I'd love to see more of the "back to the basics" videos. Thanks. And Old Forester 86/100, would be on the top of my list. Cheers.

    Old Forester 1910. The barrel char rings through, soooo good. It was a toasted barrel before distilleries started releasing toasted barrel whiskey.
    Second thought, up here north of the 49th, we get Access to Dr Don Livermore’s creations… Lot 40, Pike Creek, and some special release Wisers. If they made their way to the US, I’m sure you’d give these expressions the props they deserve. Cheers.

    I love that KC9 is on this list. It was my go to house bourbon that I always kept on the shelf years before I ever got into bourbon. Ever since I've kind of abandoned my KC9 coz I'm too busy tasting other bottles and honestly NO ONE ever talks about it. Good to see it on a liat.

    Between your review and many of the comments, it just shows there is a lot of under appreciated whiskey that is enjoyable, won’t break the wallet and is available. Good topic.

    9:34 This went up $5 near me about 6 months ago. From $40 to $45. $40 already seemed too high for me compared to WT 101.

    Maker's Cask Strength is one of my absolute favorite bourbons. Grab a bottle of 46 Cask Strength 23-02 and I like the regular Maker's Cask way better. Great list

    Solid list. I would add Luca Mariano SB Barrel Strength or Signature Bourbon. Another would be Middle West Spirits. The dark pumpernickel rye and the Sherry cask finished cask strength bourbon are good.

    I was excited to learn that the Barrel Amburana did not contain any Tennessee whiskey (my particular palate has strong negative reactions to the minerality) and I might make that my first Barrel (and my first Amburana finish)

    I would say ECBP A123 should make this list. It’s lives in the shadow of the mega hyped C923. After multiple tastes of each, the A123 wins for me (don’t judge me)

    An under appreciated intro to blended bourbon would also be the Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series, blending their 4 yr with a sourced 12yr Kentucky makes a pretty solid well balanced pour.

    • @RocketSauce666
      @RocketSauce666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree... except they are canceling that product... I think the last Fusions are already released, so buy them up now at $60 before they're all gone!

    Great picks and I do like the Russell’s 10 but the single barrel is just better and it’s still affordable for me. Barrell is just starting to come in to my area and will be getting a few even with the Tennessee whiskey in it. I’m not sensitive as some are.
