    Dude, I think I owe it to you.
    I found out shapez not even a week ago, somethin like 3-4 days. I really liked the game but i was kinda struggling when it comes to 'more advanced' stuff than cutting raw materials and painting them. Stacking things was a real pain in the ass. I was searching for some tutorials and i bumped into your channel and vids. Dude, you really helped. I'm still ape in this game, but now i understand how blueprints work (imagine me building every machine like 90% manually xD). Now I'm kinda proud of myself, since I understood the game's mechanic and I have invented compact stacker myself! so the game is more playable and enjoyable.
    Generally I don't give a fuck, but I feel some kind of being satisfied after understanding the game more and you really helped dude. Despite this vid got more like 2years, it was really useful. Keep up the good work.

    Actually.
    In my everything-factory, I'm using the double painter, which takes a little bit more space than the standard one.
    But at the end, as my factory outputs any shape at 6k/min (7.2k/m in theory, but there's lag), it saves me 24 (edit : not 24 but 48) color input lines, which take a heck of a lot more space than the 48 color-efficient painters I have ^^
    Re-edit : plus you only need four double painters versus six standard ones to reach full belt capacity, making the full double painter array almost as compact as the standard one.

    I've avoided guide videos until I got stuck at the "compass" or "Rocket ship" level.
    It's really interesting how we end up at the same kind of design when striving for peak efficiency even though we sought it independently without tips/suggestions.

    As a side note, both types of full belt factory parts can be made more compact:
    Vertical: if you tunnel the right input instead of the output, you can bring the result one closer, and save 1 in width, changing it from a 18x6 (108) to 18x5 (90). I did check quite a few times, and the vertical one is 18 tall.
    Horizontal: you can use compact splitters for input lines, to save a full line per input, changing it from 12x8 (96) to 12x6 (72). This would be done by drawing the feed line on the higher balancer line and just putting the splitter to feed right into the input/tunnel.

    5:31, no, that is badly done, the double painter can be 3 more compact squares, and the simple one is missing a part, therefore they are the same

    Heyy I know the video is 3 years old but I just started playing it and your compact design ideas helped me a lot! Thanks

    This will be very handy as I'm grinding through my first playthrough! The second time around though I'm gonna go full willy wonka and make monstrously overcomplicated factories

    Got to say I'm very glad I ran across your content this game has been amazing over the past week for me and it seems like you've gotten a lot of enjoyment and attention out of it

    1:00 oh boy, this design is now half as big, it's super nice. I originally preferred the vertical design because it fit nicely with the rest of my designs, but the sideways design can be compacted so much you'd be crazy not to use it. Painter tiles can now be super small as well. Working on a make everything factory, and it's a nice challenge.

    Using your tips will definitely help because mine is scattered everywhere and is messy as hell

    you could mesh the splitters into where the conveyor would be in the output of the other machine to increase compactness as long as it is the same width and processing speed

    Thank you. I am just trying to get to the theory of compactness, and larger Factories. This does help explain some of the 'shorts' that I have seen. But I like words and explanations.

    The other thing against the quad painter is the fact that you have to wire it to a signal for it to work at all.

    First questions: is this up to date rn? Specially the ratios? It's a bit hard to calculate, because of the lvl up upgrade system...

  • @Cjx0r
    @Cjx0r 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    when you can pull raw indefinitely, why not have all input belts maxed out up to a interlaced storage chests? The inline tunnel idea should be helpful tho.

    As a beginner i still can't make that efficient systems to make the blocks. Hopefully i can get some inspirations and improve off of them from this video.

      the merger? Technically a design for a color mixer will also be usable with a merger, unless you mixed the colors in a strange way.

    2:18 "I see a lot of new players ... split the input evenly."
    Ah yes, you mean the correct way to build.

    • @hubertbanaszczyk1283
      @hubertbanaszczyk1283 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I tested it and strict input is way more efficient because these splitters get stuck at first two rows.

    • @JasperJanssen
      @JasperJanssen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@hubertbanaszczyk1283 it’s not. The maximum speed is a full belt, and full belts can be achieved both ways.

    • @EricPramono
      @EricPramono 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes and if you split it evenly using that method it will be less space efficient

    • @Jerhunter44
      @Jerhunter44 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EricPramono For a dedicated machine setup, that's fine. For a MAM, it's different though. The time it takes to overflow the lines is longer if you only input a full belt.

    Here I thought mindustry schematics were complicated

      In my opinion mindustry's more complicated. Shapez desings are more compact and more easy to use in the whole seed.

    Please make a more basic tutorial...i must be dyslexic because I need to see someone do it and copy "step-by-step"...I watched 5 times and thought i had it, but here I am again...and asking my neighbor if he has a second monitor I can borrow..."ratio", "tileable" these words are foreign to me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣- Be safe and take care!😎

    Ur ratios are wrong because of tiers.
