Thank you Autodoc! That was just the right information I needed to do my first rear pad change on a 156. Slightly different pads but the two screws that need to be undone are the same. The only thing I could add is the torque settings for redoing the screws up. 4.8-5.2 Nm apparently (which is 48-52Nm on my torque wrench). Great video.
a good tutorial but: What did the slide pins not get lubricated? No copper on any of the other parts? No clean up of the new disc face Shouldn't the brake fluid reservoir tank cap be loosened to allow fluid to flow back when the piston is wound back?

@Edward Elizabeth Hitler Ah Eddie I didn't know about no grease between the Disc and the Hub. Taking off my disc the other day there was some thick sort of tacky grease around there but very firm so I don't know what it was. I can see how a thin copper grease would be a bad idea as when the disc is spinning some copper grease might make it's way onto the disc surface and thus inbetween that and Pad so yeah not a good plan! Surely some copper grease on the Pad ends where they fit onto the springs on the Carrier part though? Don't want that sticking!
Good afternoon. I have a question. Alfa romeo 156 2001. He would change discs and plates. Do I have to unlock the rear tiles via diagnostics? Do I have to squeeze the last piston on the jaw completely or do I have to regulate it that way? Thank you very much for your reply

Do not undo the bottom nut at the back of the knuckle connecting the two bars centralized in the centre of the car i had no end of grief because of this you can get a 17mm spanner in behind the caliper to get the caliper off

as usual videos with music but no real commentary / advice bear No relation to real life...today I changed front discs/ pads and rear discs/pads on my Alfa 147....Fronts were fine...but rear pads were very tricky.....Do not remove long bolt holding the stabilizer bar just remove nut and move bar across you get just enough room for a slim 17mm spanner....getting bolts back on caliper carrier were awkward ....i'm a home mechanic with basic tools the whole job took me 4.5 hrs

Hmm. Some good points, some bad. No torque wrench used at all. No cleaning caliper retaining bolts, and adding fresh thread lock. Did not show cleaning oil off of new disc. Also try to replace any nuts removed from suspension with new.

Unfortunately most of the shops don't use new bolts or nuts. I've worked in a shop and some things that I've seen were really questionable. And it was quite a reputable and big shop with lots of customers.
