    You were missed, glad you weren't sick. It's always a shock to have to fork out the money for a new computer, but when it arrives and you're setting it up, suddenly you're glad you did it. Happened to me on Christmas Eve. Result: a happy new year.

    My psu just blew days before Christmas. I had just purchased a new computer with bluetooth and can listen to my music while mowing or going to the mailbox. So i was thrilled at how much better the newer computers are. Now I am refurbing the old one with bluetooth too. Have a great 2020.

    Thank you Jason . Happy new year & hopefully happy new computer. Even filmed on your phone the vlogs are good and if you'd not said anything I don't think I'd have noticed excepting just one frame of view but was still an excellent ramble , its shows how enthused you are in this hobby has all here present are. Your right about the people in this hobby they are a friendly bunch generally , i don't see many trolls on your channel at all. Look forward to live stream & videos i did miss you over the holidays , glad you back.

    As many others have said, we've missed you! Actually your little phone did a great job and that made this video all the more enjoyable. I agree entirely with your comment about the people in this hobby. Mostly we are a pretty friendly lot. I had to laugh when you mentioned Figboot. You're right! David doesn't like anything out of alignment. He is a perfectionist! I hope, by now, you have received your new computer. It should last you at least until 2027! Welcome back!

      That is too bad. They had some interesting products, and the unusual nib sizes were a good contribution.

  • @Maraaha55
    @Maraaha55 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hallo - and Happy New Year :)
    I enjoyed your ramble through the fine and varied delicacies of fountain penthusiasm - and your Carene is beautiful, isn't it! - that broad nib, too! - looks like it gives a great line.
    Love your different ink bottles - none of mine are as interesting, I think ... please don't point me at THAT rabbit-hole, I might accidentally go off {BANG!] and start collecting ink bottles too (good grief)! I can already feel the thoughts building up, which charity shops can I get to in the next three days, would 'perfume' bottles work ... save me, please.
    Altogether lovely little visit with you, Jason, and we all share some strange tendencies, for sure. Perhaps all fountain pen people do. And for some reason I'm not sure that it is as incongruent for knowledge- and innovation-seekers to use a fountain pen as it may at first seem. Most of us start fiddling with them, and seems to me that fiddling is the first step for any explorer or innovator - and you can't fiddle much with a Bic. However, this may be just me not being logical. I think I'm petty computer literate, and I can't stop myself from fiddling with software ... there's a bit of a theme here...
    As for stationery - I once found myself in Staples, just staring at highlighters : I had entered a different mental state and it took me while to come back to reality. Didn't need a highlighter, didn't want a highlighter, but maybe I could use one for something? Completely hypnotised
    I agree, also, that the interweb makes it possible to experience a sense of community and sharing, especially for folk in remote areas, or where they are unable to entice acquaintances into the Habit. It even gives more sense of our broader personalities than you might expect. People are very generous with their knowledge and time, too, which you can't over-emphasise.
    Good fun to start off 2020! By the way, remember to always put the full 4 digit year - the unscrupulous could change '20 to 2006, should they want to, apparently.

    • @WaskiSquirrel
      @WaskiSquirrel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't bought an ink for the bottle yet, but you're right: it is tempting! That's one of my favorite things about Colorverse.
      And yes, it's fun to fiddle with things. That's what dragged me down the vintage pen rabbit hole!
      I have had that exact experience in Staples. I used to make regular stops there when I lived close to one and I could spend forever wandering the stationery and imaging in what I could do.
      And you are right about living in remote areas! (You know that I do.) Online gives access to communities we would just never have. Without the internet, I would think I was the only fountain pen user and, at this point, I would no longer be able to find ink for them.

    Enjoyed seeing all your things. It's amazing all the different things we collect the longer we're in the hobby. I really need to go through all mine. Which MacBook Pro did you get? My friend has an elderly MacBook Air and wants to upgrade and was thinking of going pro. I wish you could get bigger SSDs in them without paying an arm and a leg to Apple.

    Thanks for the video in extremis. That's dedication indeed. My inner pedant (which is really out and proud) wants to say that if you have a B5 page and you double it, that would be B4 size. I have tried several sizes of notebooks for journal-keeping, and although I thought it would be way too big, circumstances forced me to try an A4 journal, and I love it. My vaporous musings expand to fill the space, and I don't feel confined like I did even with B5. I tend to write with full sentences and no abbreviations or acronyms, so I do tend to run on. Like now. Happy new year, and good luck with setting up your new computer. I'm looking forward to seeing the top 10 video.
    A word about anger in the comments. There are a couple of reviewers that I have watched occasionally who seem over-affected by relatively innocent comments and vent some of their irritation within their videos. I'm glad things like that don't seem to affect you that way.

    • @WaskiSquirrel
      @WaskiSquirrel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is B4. My memory failed me. It's called B5 to B4 paper. I found B5 quite comfortable in a lot of ways.
      The videos are coming soon. I should be able to start filming tomorrow as I finish installing updates.
