    I have been going back and forth with vegetarianism, it is hard but it's getting easier since I have been thinking about it now for a couple of months. So far I have not eaten meat for a week, I am taking baby steps and am grateful for your channel!

    • @amdvAdriana

      YuliNoSa Congratulations! That's the way to do it, one step at a time. When I became vegetarian I bombarded myself with information as to why this was the best reason for me, so whenever my mind would try to trick me into stopping I had hundreds of reasons to continue. Once I did it for 2 months, it was like second nature and I was eating healthier than ever since I was conscious of my protein intake and such. I hope you keep going and maybe these tips help you :)

    They look exactly like tacos de carnitas but without the cruelty. I'm so glad I found this, I'm Mexican and it can be hard to be vegetarian since our cuisine has a lot of meat dishes. I can't wait to try this out!

      Try Indian recipes too. They used jackfruit for Biriyani, curry. So you can get lot many dishes. Instead of jackfruit, you can also use breadfruit. I love to eat jack when it ripens. Seedless jackfruit is very good for making tacos. Try to plant one and you will get fresh taste of jack not a canned one.

    Wow thank you so much!!! I have been thinking about going vegetarian/vegan but there are many questions in my mind, a big one was: how will I honor and keep my Mexican food? how will keep my cultural foods while being vegan and I thank your channel is going to help me tremendously! Thank you soooo much I am going to try all of your recipes!

    • @amdvAdriana
      @amdvAdriana  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! I hope you go on this journey and take up vegatarianism/veganism. It is difficult at first, at least it was for me, because I was so used to thinking protein was from an animal. Once I did it for 2 months it became easy. Most Mexican food in the US is very heavy on meat but there are so many dishes to explore that are not. I really do hope my channel helps you. Let me know if you have other questions on this new path of yours. (I've been vegetarian for 9 years)

    Adriana thank you so much for your recipes, I travel often to Brazil and had these there and at first thought it was meat it really tricks your senses. Have you tried Baru nuts? I discovered them down there found them in the States and I am addicted, I highly recommend them to anybody in particular vegetarians due to the extremely high nutritional content and they taste amazing. Hint try making Mole paste with them will blow you away, best

    I live in Veracruz and have the tree growing close to my house. I tried this recipe with fresh jackfruit but I don't think it tastes right. My jackfruit is orange colored, not white. Do you think it was too ripe?

    • @amdvAdriana
      @amdvAdriana  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Michele McNickle how amazing that you have a tree by you! Yes, this recipe only works for green jackfruit not ripe. However, you can use the ripe jackfruit for bbq or sweet "carnitas" if you're into that kind of southwestern flavor.

    • @amdvAdriana

      Capitan kmote Gracias! Estoy contigo a mi tampoco me agrada la imitacion de carne. Decidi hacer esta receta porque a muchas personas prefieren empezar su vida vegetariana con comidas a las que están acostumbradas hacer. Para tener una transición menos difícil. Yo también, cuando apenas me convertí vegetariana, lo hice con imitación de carnes. Ojalá esta receta le ayude a alguien.

    • @drgatita
      @drgatita 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Y por qué te molesta tanto? No te lo tomes personal, ni que fuera una ofensa hacia ti. Muchas personas que son veganas/vegetarianas decidieron dejar de comer productos animales por el simple hecho de que no quieren participar en la explotación de estos, no porque no les guste el sabor de ciertos platillos. Así que es obvio que hay diferentes alternativas. Otras porque tienen algún problema de salud y tienen que dejar consumirlos o también porque quieren comer más saludable pero con un sabor igual de rico. Se hace lo que se puede. Nadie es perfecto. Ni al caso que te ofendas o te moleste la simple adaptación de una receta. Oféndete o moléstate por cosas serias o que están acabando con todo lo que nos rodea, por ejemplo, la explotación de animales no humanos y humanos inocentes. Que tengas buen día.
