That's what the video portrays, it shows him being depressed and in the scenes he's alone. so instead of being alone he parties and drinks. The mud that appears represent all of his bad emotions. The person who pulls him into the club has mud on their hand, meaning that his negative emotions are what drive him to drown himself in alcohol as a distraction. Then in the hallway he's left alone again and the high is fading so the negative emotions come flooding back in. Eventually he's right back where he started, alone again, left with his emotions(mud). He feels like he's going crazy because he's stuck in a loop.
