Could also turn it into a melee crit-focused self healing build, especially with the dark katana and other melee crit enhancing (and regular crit enhancing) relics
The vampire doctor has some really useful items for a crit-leech build. There’s a relic that increases crit chance by 12%, and a relic called Messy Prescription that increases all healing done from all sources. So every time you land a crit, you get double the health back instead, and orbs and potions give 40% more health. I win runs flawlessly when I get that item, as it becomes so damn easy!
This video is over a year old but seriously thank you this build is still super effective. You made my life a helluva lot easier lol. Btw you have a very nice voice
Dude, thank you so much for this guide! I was struggling so much with my electricity build and couldn't even past the council member. I used your exact setup besides the dash and went from not completing the first council member to beating the game first try!
In my experience, it's a lot easier to go melle crit build since you don't have to worry about spacing. The most consistent build I've played with is: Arcanas: Basic: Up to you(Melee for more crits, projectiles for some range options) Dash: Again, up to you(I use "wave front" since it works as a panic button) standard: "Tearing Whirlwind"(Melee, movement & multi-hit, incredibly versatile) Signature: Heroic Blaze(Melee, jump & multihit and gives you a lot of I-frames) Starting relic: Dark Katana(All melee arcana are basically guaranteed to crit) Robe: Awe(Crit chance & dmg, you can use shift if you dig the evasion since you won't lose that much crit chance) Strategy: Pretty simple, use the standard arcana to gather the enemies, then use your signature to finish them off if there are any survivors hit them with your other spells or your basic arcana. This build provides enough damage, mobility & defense(thanks to the I-frames) by itself and since it's multi-hit it also charges your signature quite often so from there you can branch off in whatever direction you might want, whether you want more defense, damage, mobility, signature charge or range. And unlike the build in this video you don't have to worry about spacing since you just fire the combo and you're done, you don't need to circle around enemies to do the damage and, since the CD for these spells is pretty low, if more enemies spawn or some of them survive you can just run for a couple seconds and do it again.
Should have gotten the clover! puffy parka has you avoid al enemy criticals, and the clovers gives your crits a multiplayer (and also your enemies), but it's downside was covered!
Dude! This was soooo helpful! I just got the game and played it straight through the weekend. You should make some more with it now that there have been some updates! Hoping you come back to TH-cam! Great job man!
It's probably been said or you know it by now but I died a little inside when you passed up the Evading Zephyr. You couldn't ask for a more perfect arcana for crit builds when you have the mask like you did. Guaranteed crits on demand. The clover would have been nice too but not as relevant with Mask x Evading Zephyr. Good to know about the arcana combo though, I haven't tried those two together though I liked pinball from a few runs.
Who Knows played through the other day trying to o true lightning build. Randomly got it to drop and wondered why I had never heard about it before then. The rest of my run I found tons of damage stacking relics and it was just crazy fun.
8:18 She can give you a relic called critical placebos that makes every hit critical oh wait it only adds like 12-14% extra chit but it makes you believe every attack is a critical
Hey do you get volt rail and the cloak ?? I’m new to the game like a few hours but I don’t know how to get anything I have those cards for the build but those 2
@@AndrewRobalino7 Hey there bud, hope you're enjoying your time with the game! You just have to get lucky to find the cards (Arcana). I made this video when the game first came out, so it may be a bit harder to get these specific cards now (because they added a lot of new cards into the card pool), but just keep playing and you'll find them eventually. The cloak can be unlocked by talking to the NPC that makes cloaks in town (before entering the trials). He'll eventually have it for sale if you don't spot it right away.
@@crownforce489 Hey there bud, I'm not too sure what the state of the game is now. I haven't played it in several months, so unfortunately I can't say for sure whether or not it's been nerfed.
21:59 with that red clover your critical hits are more casual but the enemies critical hits are more casual too. with the "evade every critical hit" coat you turn up the situation.
The Vampire Girl also has a chance to give a relic that will boost the crit rate to 100% so you can crit with every attack wich is usefull with the Vampire Glasses
Your casual playing is my "going hard" hahaha I'm only 4 hours in but I knew I was gunna need help and this buikd is gnarly. I haven't been as lucky with the relics tho. They play a huge role with this build. All in all 10/10 you have my follow my man.
Thanks for the tip of this build! I finally cleared the chaos trials after a few trials with this build. And then I found a OP combination of changing this build's signature spell to Phantom Brigade (chaos Arcana) and get the Albert's Formula (Relic) in the trial then u'll have infinite signature attack whenever u run into any enemy! When u send Phantom Brigade out to ur foes the high critical chance provided by Awe (Cape) will trigger the healing effect of Vampire's Eyeglasses, and this will trigger Albert's Formula to charge ur signature attack which u can again send out Phantom Brigade and all this goes on and on until u've killed everything in sight and give u a good healing at the same time. And with Sano's Headband, u don't even need to move to let Master Sura nailed lol.
Well, I've learned that despite the appeal of knockback relic... it's NOT a good idea. Because the damage works best by pushing them into a corner, knockback relic actually makes it harder to get good damage combos.
The cursed item that allows you to do more crit damage for you and enemies. Since you have puffy parka you have more crit damage and they miss all their higher damage crits.
I learned about this build and thought i had it made. The most useful thing about it is the sunglasses. I wound up using the upgraded red robe and got the crit relics along with being tailored. Used the berserk arcana with volt pinball and bolt rail, very clean run. Got bolt brigade. Btw, the insignia Relic for winning lets you buy chaos arcana in the trials.
Was looking for a good build, and I've heard a few, but this one seems really solid. Good play style and a lot of fun, I'll have to give it a go and see if they nerfed it since this video.
I got closer to Sura than ever before! But damn the Ice Queen on 3rd level is pretty damn tough. She defeated me with relative ease. I’ll try again and again and also thanks a lot, mate!
That's good to know, I played all of of this game before a wiki or anything like that was out. In either case, I shouldn't have mentioned that it did damage as I wasn't sure, thanks for the heads up.
just to add to the comment it would have also been the perfect combination, as with the mask after evading every hit would have been a critical, and then with the goggles every crit healed you, so it would have made the combo much better. Btw. great video!
I really like Doctor Song. She can literally give you Critical Placebos which makes all your attacks count as crits. Even if they aren't. So items that procs on crit will always Proc. It also give 12% crit chance.
Cardice Prime is my favorite spell ever! I haven't seen Awe in display. I only have Shift right now because I love evade build. Maybe I'll try this because this looks very easy. My noob evade build can only carry me as far as the third chaos master sigh...
Why does it look so easy? Whenever I'm fighting sura he just dashes across the entire fucking area we're standing on but he dashes like 2 feet for everyone else
I noticed a few times in the run that you somehow avoid damage when you pop out your super signature move. Does your super give you some invulnerability frames?
I heard somewhere that the increased crit damage offsets the increased crit chance or something, so you might actually be better off with the purple cloak which increase crit chance and adds a chance to evade attacks rather than increasing crit damage.
the best item of the medic pool is a pill that makes you think all your atacks are critical hits, in other words you are always activating the critical hit relics.
Sorry, I haven't played Wizard of Legend in a long time, so I can't say how effective the build would be. The beauty of this build is that Volt Pinball has an extremely powerful signature ability, and it's easy to charge with this build. Again, I always advocate playing builds that you find enjoyable, so you should definitely try it out, and see if you enjoy it or not =)
Another good one is signature:heroic blaze Standard:tearing whirlwind Basic:air spinner Dash:frost wing/wave front Cloak: awe Relic:vampire eyeglasses And then just build on it in game if ya want
I haven't played Wizard of Legend in quite some time, but your suggestion sounds like a solid idea. I'd also advise if you're just starting out, try to experiment with the various spells/capes that you find. You might find a setup that you enjoy playing, or find a setup that works better than the one shown in this video. Eventually you'll get to this setup, as you sift through the shops at the start of each run.
Signature pinball carried me the furthest, I knew it was busted as soon as I got it. But tbh, I've done vampire glasses build even with the cloak buff from the shop, and the health you get back is negligible, its like 1-2 health per crit, meanwhile enemies can take way more health away with 1 attack, I'd say its better to do something else.
When he took off evading zephyr... could have made a combo because he had the one relic that makes it every time you evade you deal critical damage and then he would heal.
The Lancer enemies can be a bit difficult if you don't have your Cardice Prime or Volt Pinball running. My best piece of advice would be to make sure these spells are off cooldown when you enter a room, so that they will last longer as you fight your enemies. Another tip is to make sure you stay far back and let them dash, once they've dashed to you, you can dash in and activate your arcanas. As long as you have Cardice Prime or Volt Pinball running, you should be fine against the lancers.
I don't know if I'm crazy or what, I tried this build recently and it carried me further than I've ever gone, but there was an update about a month ago and I feel like one or both of these arcana have had their damage/usefulness decreased. Again this build will take you far in the current form of the game but learning what relics do and buying the right ones during your run as well as arcana themselves seems more important than relying solely on this build at least that's what it seems like to me as of right now.
I haven't played the game in several weeks now, so you may be right on the damage nerfs. The one thing you are definitely right about is that finding out which relics suit your current build is key to having a smooth run. I made this video quite a while ago, before there was a Wiki or anything like that, so I tended to skip a lot of relics which would have been great for this build. I suppose it shows just how powerful the build was even without an optimal relic set up.
yeh using that basic attack on console is a pain, aiming with the mouse is so nice. if i had known this was on PC before i got it on console, oh well. i do fine on console. took me about 15 tries before i beat it once, now i beat it nearly every time. it is a really fun game.
1. Bolt Rail (Basic) 2. Volt Pinball (Arcana) 3. Cardice Prime (Arcana) 4. Awe (Cape) 5. Flare Rush (Dash, can use anyone you like tbh) 6. Vampire's Eyeglasses (Relic) Thanks for pointing this out, I'll add it to the description as well.
Thanks for the reply. Those details and any recommendations for relics to pick up during the run. Been trying this build out and getting to 3rd boss consistently. Last run I got there at full health but all my arcana was close range, kept missing the attack windows after dodging and by the time I started to blast em, they recovered and smashed my face.
@@Masterfully1 I haven't played this game in months, so I am definitely out of touch. If you read through some of the comments on this video you'll see people pointing out some nice combos and some of the mistakes that I made in the video (skipping some good relic/arcana combos). A generic answer would be to pick up more defensive relics/arcanas because your damage output is usually not the problem, it's more about surviving through the onslaught of damage that you take.
I just beat this game for the third time after so many tries with a similar build, and after I'd unlocked everything else. I basically made the following tweaks to this build: my melee was Air Spinner since it has 360 coverage; my dash was Circuit Line; and my starting Relic was Cushioned Flip-Flops. For relics I'd prioritize anything that either heals, lowers cooldown, or helps with signature charging (like Surefire Rocket) and for additional arcana I'd definitely look for Zephyr, Fueled Berserk, or any agents (hence grabbing anything to lower cooldown). Just dashed around like crazy while trying to avoid damage. I'm actually not very good at this game, so the cheesier the build the better 😅
I ran the Obsidian Splitter, Ignition Rush, Cardice Prime (goated) and Tearing Whirlwind. I put on the vamp glasses and got the dark katana and clover in shop and I was nigh immortal. Get low? Walk into a fight and just Cardice + Tearing. Shred the boss and gain a crap ton of hp (I also had Golden Saber of Envy and Amulet of Sundering for more damage)
Running through the Chaos Trials a few times should net you enough gems to ultimately buy this setup. Keep in mind that you don't need each item that I pointed out, it just makes things a lot easier. I believe you can also reset the game over and over again to change what the merchants are selling when you first load into the "Town" area.
I haven't played WoL in months, and I've never really tried out Homing Flare, so I can't give you my personal experience with it. My advice to you would be to always stay with something that you feel more comfortable using, or something that you enjoy. This build might be easily to play, but if you don't find it fun, or aren't comfortable playing it, you should stick to your guns.
@@kevangoh890 When I was having trouble early on, I found that the easiest way was to brute force the enemies. So use all your Arcanas as fast as you can, and just run into the enemy. In our case, we want to use Volt Pinball and Cardice Prime and when they are over, you should focus on dodging. Wait for them to come off cool down again before you engage once more. If you can build the Signature Meter, you will be able to use your Signature Arcana again. For us, this means that we can use Volt Pinball two times in a row, in a very short amount of time. So make sure you pay attention to that as well.
@@kevangoh890 Sura is a bit challenging, but much like the other Masters, he will stop attacking for a small period of time AFTER he does a barrage of attacks. My best advice is to keep your distance from him and wait till he stops attacking for a bit. For Atlas's "worm" attack, you want to either be at the very top or bottom of the screen when it starts and run around him as the worms chase you. If you watch my fight against him in the video, I show how to dodge it.
@@slimesz9625 you use the build showed in the video and when you enter a room activate cardis prime and volt pinball then use voltaic needle to get into a group of enemies and kill them all
I can tell you for sure that the "Awe outfit" and vampire sunglass are a sure combo for a first win but I'm not sure about the arcana ( i use the same basic but not the other and i wouldnt recommend that dash) but i will try pinball and prime to see if it still works
@@hmm-really Thanks dude! Ok can confirm. I had only cleared the trials once before and never again. After trying this build, I cleared it 4 more times. Definitely works!
Wow this build really helped. I got all outfits and almost all spells but I can't beat the game. Its my second time reaching third boss at my first try with this build! But I got the fire girl on last boss :/ and yeah.. that spell spam just rekted me and roll me over. Gonna try again tomorrow
Try using volt pinball as your standard, snowflake chakram as your signature and make cushioned sandals as your relic. Oh and use air spinner as your basic, it's overall this build on crack. The chakram help you keep ranged enemies at bay if you can't Target then all at the same time, and the build gives you a lot of signature buildup quickly so you never actually take damage, so relics like rocket or the other one that stops it from depleting are pretty good, and stuff like volatile gemstone is really good for that.
I find that the map offers convenience, but apart from that, it hinders your initial progression. For this specific build the Glasses are essential. However, keep in mind this is just one way to play the game, you should do what you find enjoyable and what you are comfortable with.
@Nob the Knave Yeah, the glasses were nerfed, but if you are able to get the full electric arcana set, alongside the upgrade from the tailor, it heals a shit ton.
Use volt disc if you have it and use laced lightning for the regular arcana. If you want a ton of healing. And get as many crit enhancing relics during your run and you'll be good
I've always favoured using Arcanas that I enjoy using, so if you like to use Terra Ring, you should definitely stick with it. Cardice Prime does makes things a lot easier in my opinion, but if you don't like the play-style of Cardice Prime, you should definitely stick to your guns. With that being said, Cardice Prime is very key to this build, so if you swap it out with a different Arcana, you most likely won't benefit from the "Lifesteal" gear set up.
To get the cape, you'll need to talk to the vendor in the "Hub"/"Town" area before you enter the Chaos Trials. You can simply load in and out of the zone, until the vendor sells you the Awe cape.

Bolt Rail, Flare Rush, Volt Pinball, Cardice Prime

Sorry, I haven't played Wizard of Legend in a long time, so I can't say how effective the build would be. The beauty of this build is that Volt Pinball has an extremely powerful signature ability, and it's easy to charge with this build.
Again, I always advocate playing builds that you find enjoyable, so you should definitely try it out, and see if you enjoy it or not =)
No Win yet, but got damn close first try with this build.
This is. Great for me because I’m trying to complete the game and everything
Another good one is signature:heroic blaze
Standard:tearing whirlwind
Basic:air spinner
Dash:frost wing/wave front
Cloak: awe
Relic:vampire eyeglasses
And then just build on it in game if ya want
How do u get an enhanced ability? I got enhanced ability from the shop during the chaos trials, but at the end, it converts into a normal ability.
Enhanced Arcanas only last for the duration of the run you acquire them.
restocker i see. thx!
Say you don’t have the Awe cape. Would the cape that gives you extra gems and gold be a good choice?
You have a nice voice
Ok so I just get destroyed by the lancers any tips?
The Lancer enemies can be a bit difficult if you don't have your Cardice Prime or Volt Pinball running. My best piece of advice would be to make sure these spells are off cooldown when you enter a room, so that they will last longer as you fight your enemies. Another tip is to make sure you stay far back and let them dash, once they've dashed to you, you can dash in and activate your arcanas. As long as you have Cardice Prime or Volt Pinball running, you should be fine against the lancers.
Piccolo says, "DOOOOOOODGE!"
This game is sick af and worth way more than 14$
hosinw it’s only 14 dollars on what consoles
@@zerotheassassin4046 Switch it is also on steam, but idk how much there
@@hosinw what about Xbox
@@zerotheassassin4046 apparently it is 16$ on xbox
i'm sure you realized your error later, but i just saw you say no to evading zephyr while you had the mask.
Nice run and setup!
Does this still work in the current version of the game?
yeh using that basic attack on console is a pain, aiming with the mouse is so nice. if i had known this was on PC before i got it on console, oh well. i do fine on console. took me about 15 tries before i beat it once, now i beat it nearly every time. it is a really fun game.
Any chance of a summary of useful relics with this build?
1. Bolt Rail (Basic)
2. Volt Pinball (Arcana)
3. Cardice Prime (Arcana)
4. Awe (Cape)
5. Flare Rush (Dash, can use anyone you like tbh)
6. Vampire's Eyeglasses (Relic)
Thanks for pointing this out, I'll add it to the description as well.
Easy setup but first I have to get those Arcana, Relic, and Cape. How am I supposed to do that?
Running through the Chaos Trials a few times should net you enough gems to ultimately buy this setup. Keep in mind that you don't need each item that I pointed out, it just makes things a lot easier. I believe you can also reset the game over and over again to change what the merchants are selling when you first load into the "Town" area.
restocker You can also just teleport back and forth between your room to restock the merchants
Keep playing
Just go through the chaos trials until you have enough chaos gems to buy enough arcana/relics/cloaks until one of these show up
Does homing flare making a good substitute for the lightning move?
I haven't played WoL in months, and I've never really tried out Homing Flare, so I can't give you my personal experience with it. My advice to you would be to always stay with something that you feel more comfortable using, or something that you enjoy. This build might be easily to play, but if you don't find it fun, or aren't comfortable playing it, you should stick to your guns.
@@restocker im alway stuck at burst mage and summoner as they keep spamming at me and i cant get to move. Any tips?
@@kevangoh890 When I was having trouble early on, I found that the easiest way was to brute force the enemies. So use all your Arcanas as fast as you can, and just run into the enemy. In our case, we want to use Volt Pinball and Cardice Prime and when they are over, you should focus on dodging. Wait for them to come off cool down again before you engage once more. If you can build the Signature Meter, you will be able to use your Signature Arcana again. For us, this means that we can use Volt Pinball two times in a row, in a very short amount of time. So make sure you pay attention to that as well.
@@restocker now i can reach sura if my 3-3 was freiya but i have trouvle dodgimg the meteor and the worms thing summoned by atlas. Any tips?
@@kevangoh890 Sura is a bit challenging, but much like the other Masters, he will stop attacking for a small period of time AFTER he does a barrage of attacks. My best advice is to keep your distance from him and wait till he stops attacking for a bit. For Atlas's "worm" attack, you want to either be at the very top or bottom of the screen when it starts and run around him as the worms chase you. If you watch my fight against him in the video, I show how to dodge it.
Thank you so much for this build. I finally beat master sura with this build. Only that I switched to the air spinner basic.
No problem! Glad I could help, and congratulations :)
You should do a guide for today, cuz updates n stuff, balance changes, plus I really liked this video
if you can get voltaic needle you can clear rooms in seconds
How, what build do use with it
@@slimesz9625 you use the build showed in the video and when you enter a room activate cardis prime and volt pinball then use voltaic needle to get into a group of enemies and kill them all
I combined this with the monopole relic once. It was... interesting.
Thank you for this. I've played this game for 50 hours and still haven't beat on it because I suck. So thanks
Keep at it! It's a challenging game, but you're almost certainly improving without noticing.
I have made it to Sura twice before this video but with this its much easier. And thanks for the encouraging words
Thanks for the video! The game seems to have changed over the years. Is this strat still good in 2022?
I can tell you for sure that the "Awe outfit" and vampire sunglass are a sure combo for a first win but I'm not sure about the arcana ( i use the same basic but not the other and i wouldnt recommend that dash) but i will try pinball and prime to see if it still works
@@hmm-really Thanks dude! Ok can confirm. I had only cleared the trials once before and never again. After trying this build, I cleared it 4 more times. Definitely works!
@@DC430 yeah did it a few times too it works (but i still thinks it's better with frost feint dash)
Congrats bro 👌
Wow this build really helped. I got all outfits and almost all spells but I can't beat the game. Its my second time reaching third boss at my first try with this build! But I got the fire girl on last boss :/ and yeah.. that spell spam just rekted me and roll me over. Gonna try again tomorrow
thank god! beat the game for the first time using this build
It also gives you a wider array of elements out of the gate
Is it worth using the glasses instead of the Pathfinder map
I find that the map offers convenience, but apart from that, it hinders your initial progression. For this specific build the Glasses are essential. However, keep in mind this is just one way to play the game, you should do what you find enjoyable and what you are comfortable with.
restocker ok, I just got to 3-1 with map but will try with glasses. Thanks!
I cant get the pin bolt arcana :(
I equipped what you did and I get my butt kicked. I wonder if they did balance changing since you posted this or I just suck! Lol
@Nob the Knave Yeah, the glasses were nerfed, but if you are able to get the full electric arcana set, alongside the upgrade from the tailor, it heals a shit ton.
Use volt disc if you have it and use laced lightning for the regular arcana. If you want a ton of healing. And get as many crit enhancing relics during your run and you'll be good
u can try this build but with cascading blitz and shearing chain, tgt with bolt rail and vampire sunglasses, its a melee crit build
@@unfundedpurse01 I suggest using the water ball dash, and maybe a melee basic Incase you come across the katana relic
@@TinyLadyKris I sick with melee arcana that's why I use volt disk I'll try the water dash though
Does this still work?
The game refuses to give me volt pinball. I have never seen it
Can cardice prime be replaced with terra ring?
I've always favoured using Arcanas that I enjoy using, so if you like to use Terra Ring, you should definitely stick with it. Cardice Prime does makes things a lot easier in my opinion, but if you don't like the play-style of Cardice Prime, you should definitely stick to your guns. With that being said, Cardice Prime is very key to this build, so if you swap it out with a different Arcana, you most likely won't benefit from the "Lifesteal" gear set up.
restocker alright, thanks, Just was asking cause I don’t have cardice prime at the time. Thanks a lot!
This build is just broken and i love it.
Where/how do I get the Awe cape?
To get the cape, you'll need to talk to the vendor in the "Hub"/"Town" area before you enter the Chaos Trials. You can simply load in and out of the zone, until the vendor sells you the Awe cape.
Why didn't you drop other relics buy the relic you want with the VIP relic for a cheaper price, then you drop the VIP relic?
MAN YOU'RE A GOD MAAAAAN, I LOOOOOVE YOUUUUUUUU, DELICIOUS
I did a build focused on damage and won first try you just start on 300 hp
