Glad you liked it! The overall goal was to keep it under an hour and I'm pretty proud of it! What's next? Well I have a few ideas in mind but the next game I will be covering is a capcom game 😉
I remembered playing the F.E.A.R. games as a kid. Didn't really know shit about the story, so this was very enlightening! Thank you for going in such details to explain everything so clearly and with care! Really loved these vids
I miss this game so much. I miss its Multiplayer too. We used to have lobbies where we picked up one or two guys who could use nothing but pistols and then everyone else go unarmed, and have them swarm those poor dudes with pistols. Like a makeshift zombie mode. Or we'd play "hide & seek" where the guy who looks for everyone else has guns and the others only used melee. Stuff like that. What was fascinating to me is that none of us used Teamspeak or anything to communicate, we just found eachother daily to have those little shenanigans. Kept on for weeks, if not months, until slowly but surely the game died and we all moved on. I don't even remember any of their names, but I hope all these people are happy and successful in life fr. I want a remake badly.
FEAR 2 and 3 are so bad that they make Perseus Mandate look good by comparison. Yes, it gives you a lot of questions unanswered, but sometimes that is better than a convoluted story with a badly written conclusion.
decided to finaly give FEAR a go , its like dead space in first person , the constant tension really got to me , in FEAR 1 the level in which the assasins were introduced had me hugging the wall and constantly checking every corner of every room , as in dead space the combat encounter is pure bliss but the buildup to it is sheer horror
Amazing video. I played fear 2 first and I was blown away by the horror. It was only until years later I was able to play fear 1. Fear was so amazing and mind blowing game. I can see why it was a master piece. I still have a special place in my heart for 2. Not for 3 it was awful... lol
Oh man.. the ending to F.3.A.R was.... a thing. I deadass don't even remember the final level, just that the ending was stupid as shit. Since the game was designed with co-op in mind, the end of every level had a "Favored son" mechanic, which was basically "Who found the most collectibles and who killed the most enemies." The ending to the game would change based on who performed better overall. So it was also co-opetitive. If Point Man won, he exorcised Fettel, took his new sibling, and watched Alma disintegrate as she finally died, apparently using up the last of her psychic energy to give birth.. If Fettel won, he possessed Point Man making him his new body, took his new sibling, and devoured Alma before she could die.
Holy shit you serious? I made this video and even I didn't know that. I'm so glad i didn't even bother finishing it. Fear 2 was bearable but it was still bad. the original and extraction point are honestly the only good things about Fear, which is sad. Out of all the games that could be remade, FEAR deserves a chance.
Would you make a video for Perseus Mandate? I know it’s hated on but I personally liked it and it showed the Perseus Compound which I found extremely creepy and interesting. Plus i liked the Nightcrawlers
I will have to think about it, I never really liked perseus mandate simply because of the story and bad ai, the ai are bad because the level design is awful. But maybe I will return to it to give it another go.
I haven't played FEAR but I heard a lot of good things about it. I stumbled across your channel through the Walter Sulivan video(I'm a huge SH4 fan and have always went against what the community has said about the game). Now that I watched this, I'd like to dive in this game and hopefully not suffer migraine since I've had struggle playing with FPS games due to how fast paced it is for me, well I use to enjoy it but as I age , my eyes don't really enjoy FPS games anymore. I'll be in it for the lore and by your video, I think the devs poured every little thing they had for FEAR Extraction Point and then went to shit because "new devs" took over.
Watched the whole thing through mate. I'd be interested in a deep dive video on Perseus Mandate. Extraction Point was certainly a solid expansion but oddly I guess the way it came about with Sierra and all that business made it feel like a very unofficial sequel to me despite the opposite being true. Strange really, it had the opposite effect, I was suckered in by the wait for the 'proper' F.E.A.R. 2 and whilst I played EP and PM and liked them, the use of the exact same engine made them almost feel like a mod where I was expecting an evolution. For me the weak points of EP are the spirit creature areas, I always felt odd shooting ghosts, even though it's in the original and F2. 😂 I didn't know what to make of the ending either. In hindsight, I agree and can see what they were going for, but back then it felt kind of muted. I'm generally ambivalent about F.E.A.R. 2. I kind of liked how wacky it was that I got rogered at the end of the game. 😂 Storywise I didn't mind it too much, outside of Snakefist, which I thought was ridiculous. Sadly I hated aspects of the gameplay: - the post-COD grenades having a cooking-meter, and the fact that they were no longer impact grenades; - the offset ADS on that Laser weapon is absolutely fucking bizarre; - the cover mechanic was useless; - the Hammerhead just seemed like a FisherPrice version of the HV Penetrator; - the flamethrower enemies were dead with a single bullet to their tanks; - as you stated, the environments look a lot prettier and more varied but weren't anywhere near as condusive to open combat; - the ultimate sin was that shotgun. Good grief. How do you make that the game's shotgun when you're making a sequel to F.E.A.R.? Oh and good Lord the headbob. I always turned the slider down in F.E.A.R. to reduce it, but it was hyper in F2 and you couldn't reduce it. It was awful. He's walking like he has no knees. Generally though I love the vibes of F2, the score is fantastic, and the kooky elements of the underground make-believe hospital and the school with the 'Nurse's Room' elevator was sinister AF. 😂 F3 was just plain bizarre. Never played it Co-Op. I just remember getting to that early mission in the campaign and thinking "Wow, they liked Favela in MW2 2009 didn't they?". That level with the Condemned scratters coming at you amongst the aisles of freezers, what the Hell was that about? 😂
With F.E.A.R. 2, they obviously had no idea where they were going with the story. it was a downgrade in terms of gameplay compared to the first F.E.A.R. and the story was just a regurgitated mess of information we already knew from the previous one, just to the end on a horrible cliffhanger that lead to nowhere. Perseus Mandate has terrible visuals and level design, the AI was god awful too. and what even in the f**k was that story. how the hell did the protagonist have the Point man's abilities. Don't get me started on the mercenaries ewww. I'd rather fight the ghosts from extraction point than 3 knock off Albert Wesker's. their voice lines are hilariously bad too lol. that's my deep dive on perseus mandate. :) Obviously from the video. I was not a fan of the sequels what so ever, but to be honest I am a bit of a fanboy of the original. I really appreciate you for watching the video though, hope you enjoyed it. PS. you tuning into the silent hill transmission?? 👀I always love hearing your opinions. even though we share different perspectives. its still interesting to hear yours regardless
вот бы сделать продолжение F.E.A.R. 1 упираясь на DLC... Ну а так по факту extraction point можно считать каноничной и завершающей концовкой в серии, это будет в разы лучше чем F.3.A.R.(надеюсь текст переведётся)
2025 The game begins with a call to the senator. A female voice reports problems with the Source: “Riot. Fettel has taken over control of the prototypes." Armacham Technology was a weapons developer with a military program: an army of clone troopers subordinate to a commander who controlled them using telepathy. Paxton Fettel uses his telepathic abilities to take control of a battalion of clone troopers. Fortunately, to stop an armed conflict, it is enough to eliminate the commander - after this the clones will cease to act and will be absolutely safe. And finding Vettel won’t be difficult: he has a sensor implanted in his head that gives away his location. He will not have any protection; one of the conditions of the program is the safety of the commander; he does not fight along with the rest of the soldiers, but only controls them at a considerable distance. The protagonist of the game is the new operative officer “F. E.A.R.”
Good franchise, I even like the 3rd one, though a bit generic. True, there's better, but there's also way worse. They should remaster it into 1 edition, if that's successfull remake the 1st game & use this to reboot the franchise. Something similar was supposed to happen with "Dead Space", but without the remaster. The "Front Mission" franchise is another good remake example, same with "Resident Evil & Silent Hill".

@@thesanatorium2160 its makes no sense at all, it isn't canon. I know extraction point isn't canon either but that actual story is good and it really wraps up the game nicely. F.E.A.R 4 better have the battlepass
They need to make Fear 4 a singleplayer since Fear 3 multiplayer is such a shit.
