Uganda's anti-gay law: Will world outrage fall on deaf ears? • FRANCE 24 English

  • Uganda's legislation that outlaws indentifying as LGBTQ is receiving widespread condemnation. US president Joe Biden has spoken out to describe the new law as shameful. Biden, who is himself a practising Roman Catholic, a religion that says homosexuality is a sin, says Uganda's new legislation could very well harm US-Uganda relations. Before Biden's words were uttered, the law had been condemned by the United Nations as the "worst of its kind in the world."

Its funny and unfortunate that there is a deliberate omission of facts in this debate:-
    1. Uganda doesn't criminalize being gay but rather acts of homosexuality.
    2. It is the ANTI-HOMOSEXUALITY ACT 2023 not anti-gay law as its being portrayed here.
    3. Homosexuality is just not acceptable to Ugandans in every dimension even without the British law and the new law i.e. culturally, spiritually and socially.
    4. Homosexuality is not a human right in Uganda.
Discussing on how to influence Uganda's internal policies as foreigners to Uganda is absurd.
I want to invite everyone to understand and respect the Ugandan context of values, norms and religion.
Lastly, the way the west passionately wants to impose its values on Africans feels like a deliberate, long-term strategic agenda to depopulate Africa. Food for thought, if everyone at some point becomes gay, then extinction is eminent.

    • @justarwan
      @justarwan ปีที่แล้ว +4

Who's everyone? Everyone can't be gay there will always be " straights' couples. + You know surrogate mothers and sperm donors do exist. So if that's your concern..I would like to add that people are making less children. That's crazy how you're talking about homosexuality as if it was a disease it has always existed and will always exist, law or not.
I always find it weird for black peoples or any community that has been massively hated in the past (and still is for whatever reason) to hate on another community for something they can't control! There's not value there that's just pure hate. Ok you don't want to see it everywhere but killing for it?? That's crazy!

@@justarwan Great to hear you point of view, but if you have time, please study the law closely.
A death penalty is the maximum punishment for particularly aggravated homosexuality.
Surrogacy and sperm donation is definitely being abused in that context, I believe that those procedures are morally intended for those (real) women who for some abnormality can't naturally have babies.
Uganda is not unique to this, how come no one talks about the Arab world. I haven't heard any sanctions imposed for the rejection of homosexuality activities during the previous World Cup.
Lastly, to Uganda, homosexuality is a psychological deviation which cannot be normalised.

Sometimes writing out the letters helps people to understand what it is all about. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual people collectively. Primarily referring to sexual encounters. not just affection of the same or more than one type of sexual activity. Anyone over 21 years of age, not coerced, not molested as a child, totally informed, has a RIGHT to that choice, however, there are always consequences for wrong choices. Information is the key to making right choices, not hindered by emotional excitement or propaganda that you want to hear.

The West keep extending its imperialism when American Evangelist have meetings with African leaders to spread their conservative agenda (they lost the battle in USA) and get more members to their churches in the continent. That's what has been happening in Uganda and other countries. Africans claim to be free, but the true is that they are still being manipulated by the West, not by LGBT but by Christianity. It's the same "modus operandi" that European colonizers used to control African and American continents centuries ago and they are still doing it in Uganda.
