PROSTRATE FALL
“That’s what I do, I sing and I pray, so I’m sorry if you’re offended.” I told one of the two belligerent supervisors doing a verification/reconstruction of my census fieldwork. Days before I was drawn to a Twitter/X feed of a Muslim doing his mat prayer routine and thought to myself that that’s what they have that over us Christians: solemn, routine, submissive, humble, and unashamed prayer. I bowed prostrate right there on the road lay-by the moment we were done and I prayed. Public, private, silent, loud, closet, audience/congregation - talk to JESUS: pray!
