Charice, to me, was a *"flash in the pan".* Amazing potential, but she squandered it. When you look at Morissette's career ascension, she didn't start off with the same hype as Charice. In fact, Mori was not even on my radar until around 2018. Not until I stumbled upon her live rendition of "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Kita" on "ASAP Chillout" did I realize that Morissette is a force to be reckoned with. Mori really worked very hard to develop her voice and her signature sound, and we are witnessing the fruits of that labor today. Thus, imho, it's Morissette who really deserves to be "next in line" to Regine's throne.
