      This show obviously was a sponsorship to the movie to gear that marketing strategy in your head. You saw it, wished you had it, but you could have if you buy the taurus. Great marketing strategy!

      I’ve had both Ford and GM vehicles, and I gotta say; I’ve had better luck with Fords as far as reliability and quality. The first thing that would break on the few GMs that I’ve had, were the power windows if they were equipped with them. I hated the power windows on those things.

    As a former owner of both these cars, it's cool to see "normal" cars featured in a chase, especially that Thunderbird. That said, the Taurus might survive that first jump, but no way does survive the second one. And I don't know what everyone else thinks, but that slog through the parade absolutely kills all momentum and excitement in this scene.

    this is basically a homage to bullitt because of the car chase in San Francisco CA. Billy Friedkin loves that film. he got inspired by that and that's why he decided use a car chase in the French connection, to live and die in LA, this film Jade and the hunted. plus David Caruso is dressed a lot like Steve McQueen in this if you see the similarities between this and bullitt.

  • @CJDiecast

    I can't help but notice the skid plate under the Taurus for the hill jumps. They made no effort in hiding it. I had a feeling this was a William Friedkin movie. The chase alone and the cinematography. For example, the camera that shows the actor driving as it pans all the way around to show what's in front of him. That was featured in the To Live and Die in LA chase. Also, the voice dubbing of other drivers raging and cursing at them.

      Your reply to me was just as lame as my reply to you. Is that really the best response that you can come up with? It's all a matter of opinion. Which, my opinion happens to be that those are sweet cars. If you don't like them, you don't have to dump all over someone else's opinion of them. This is one of the main reasons I have gotten to the point where I just don't like the internet anymore. Too many people being ugly to each other and constantly running others down with negativity and harsh words. Why comment at all if you are just going to do nothing but trash someone else's enjoyment of something or their expression of admiration of something? That's all I'm going to say to you on the matter.

      @msattler111 10 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      If you watch a lot of car chase scenes, you will soon realize that they CANNOT take the abuse. Most scenes are shot with multiple copies of the same car, so when one does a jump or other stunt and is crippled, the producers cut to another shot of a different duplicate car driving away from the stunt. It is sometimes possible and fun to find discrepancies between the cars that are supposedly the same one.....parts hanging off of one and not the other, lights broken on one and not the other, etc.. You often have to still frame through the scenes to spot these, as they usually flash by so fast (on purpose, of course) that the viewer on first watch does not catch them, and it is assumed that the original car did the whole bit.

    Had a Taurus.
    Raced a few tbirds.
    The only way to drive that shitty Taurus is flat the hell out. Very underrated vehicle.
    It's a perfect example of why and where Ford screwed up.
    If they had just let the motor breath the way it was meant to, Ford would be at the top of the list for what to buy

    I've owned a mid 90's Taurus and no way would it even look at a hill, let alone get air, without immediately breaking down. The struts would have shot through the hood and subframe tore from the body and continued down the road.

      NO car would be able to endure a jump like that. Tierods, ball joints, A-frames, and every other component of the front suspension would be trashed. Also, airbags would have deployed. Airbags are triggered by an extremely sudden deceleration and not by the car being smashed, so the car coming down on its front end like that would be a sudden enough deceleration that airbag sensors would activate and deploy the airbags, thus rendering the car undriveable along with the front suspension totally being trashed.

    Since the killers in the Thunderbird were struggling to get through that parade, Caruso should have gone after them on foot and shot the TBird's tires. The chase would end sooner but having a fistfight in the middle of all that chaos would have been more thrilling.
