I loved that salt and pepper shaker breakup speech/presentation at the beginning. A little condescending, but a great way to break the news to that no longer special person in your life. LOL
Here's the thing. The girlfriend/fiance KNEW that he was going to be her father-in-law and she still slept with him. Both father and fiance are WRONG. The fiance should have told Nick immediately.
That's the thing, Walter didn't know Kim was with Nic. Kim knew exactly who Walter was and still slept with him and never showed any sign of guilt for it. She also slept with another men in the car.
I would move on. Not speaking to both, the fiancee & the father. Time heals all wound & maybe a door will open for Nick for another love with trust, honesty, commitment & forever soulmate. 😘😘😘

And her girlfriend is guilty before her. And the movie about that girl and her father not about that her father cheated on his wife.

I love browsing the internet and finding some really good LGBTQ movies that are worth holding an hour or more of my attention. Thought this one lived up to my expectations until suddenly it didn't. Good acting for some great characters, but I was left feeling very unsatisfied. Why oh why couldn't you let us have this one? Kooky story but no,no, no to that ending. There could have been a resolution to this story that would have sent us away feeling a whole lot happier. So tired of LGTQ movies having crappy endings. What happened to forgiveness? It is a real thing. This ending left me going huh? Felt like I'd been given a shiny new toy, only to have it ripped away. Stop making us look intolerant and unforgiving.
Forgiveness?? You'd forgive your partner for doing something like that? Like it wasn't just her dad,the guy at the bar and who knows all the other guys she'd been doing shit with for 18 months,she needs to heal fr... This was a decent story, her dad really liberated her and that was worthwhile 😊

@@M00nSupreme That's the issue with the film, Kim just isn't a likeable character. She's got no charm to her (not the actress herself but the writing of Kim) and I never felt watching the film that she even likes Nic. She just comes across like a horrible person. I was half expecting her to fall in love with Walter and run off with him. I was half expecting the film to go that route, people who are cheaters who all of a sudden meet and click and find their are in love.
Kim gets off pretty easy in the end I thought too.
this was bananas! wild story, amazing actresses, realistic reactions to intense emotions.. i did not like the ending, as both were cheaters but for some reason she is forgiving him? why? he proved he never changed.. i just dream of more lesbian movies with a happy ending! still it is worth watching : )

him and not her? I mean her father did not know that he fucked her daughter`s girlfriend but this whore girlfriend knew that she fuck her girlfriend`s father.
I think it's because "cheating" has nothing to do with a father / child relationship and he genuinely didn't know who the girl was. That being said forgive doesn't mean forget. For all we know he'll never be invited around her friends ever again. That's what I'd do. And I'd definitely ditch the friend who came on to her dad too.

@@haimlevy654 Walter is getting way too much hate. He's definitely not innocent, he's a cheater himself. But he didn't know Kim was with his daughter Nic. But Kim knew exactly who he was and still slept with him, without any guilt or remorse. She also slept with that other guy in the car.
They try to redeem Kim at the end by her telling Nic, it was her who came onto Walter. But I thought she got off way too easy in the end and Nic was too forgiving towards her.

I mean it is good that it was her father, at least he told her everything. And if that would be someone else, she even would not know that her wife cheated on her.
Kim made one mistake that in my humble opinion should have been forgiven. Why throw away a lifetime of happyness by not forgiving your partner for one mistake. If she continues to be unfaithfully then that is a different matter, but just once is forgivable if it never happens again. None of us are perfect.

Cause Kim doesn't know what she wants. I got the feeling she's more into men then women and right now she probably needs to be by herself and sort her issues.
None of us are perfect but Kim would have hurt Nic if Walter didn't stop the marriage.

A really good story and good scenes
Good(ish) movie but felt like writers just got tired at the end and couldn’t figure out a good way to wrap it all up. Felt like they didn’t even try with the ending.
It's sad when people don't have self control, as if life surrounded around them only. I guess the cheater was too beautiful for his daughter so nature came a calling and said Aloha Oe to the lovely couples short and disastrous union.

Okay, so the daughter shows up at the dad’s con. And then the credits roll…A guy wrote/directed this…makes more sense.
Two of his daughter’s friends want to hook up with him. His friend is perving on his daughter’s friends and congratulates him. It’s like some gross guy’s weird fantasy story. And how about that Q&A in the dinner scene…dated. Lazy/Bad writing.
The worst part of this movie is that ‘funny’ is in the title and it’s not actually funny. Ugh.

@@tayja-aguilar It's crazy I'm seen way to many comments saying Kim made a "mistake" , that she deserves a second chance. She slept with two guys, not that far apart from each other. One who she knew was the father of her soon to be wife and never looked remorseful for it (Walter didn't know who she was beyond a friend of Nic's). As I was watching this film, I was half expecting Walter and Kim to fall in love and run off with one another, I really thought the film was going down that route for a while.
At least when Walter found out he looked remorseful for it. And did the right thing, even though he knew it would destroy his relationship with his daughter Nic but knew if she married Kim that it would just end in heartbreak as Kim just isn't in love with Nic.
I have no issues with the ending with the father, they try to redeem Kim by saying she was 100% at fault for what happened between Walter and her.
The ending with Kim and Nic was the right call. Kim doesn't love Nic, and I'm not so sold on that she's that into women either. She clearly someone who needs to go away and stay single for a while and sort out her issues. I think Nic needs to cut her out of her life, as both need to move on. She's not a good presence in Nic's life and Nic needs to focus on herself and rebuild her relationship with her father. Having Kim around ain't going to help that.

this is not a "funny story", this is a sad and dramatic film. I dont like Walter at all and i think that, despite Kim has her part in this, Walter has ruined her daughter´s life over and over again. I haven´t liked this film at all. So depressing.....
