Don’t eat after 8pm, certainly not fried food and try turning the oven off a few minutes before the end of cooking. The food will still have enough heat to carry on cooking. An air fryer will cook your food a lot cheaper and quicker👍😀🌝🌻😎
I eat my main meal at 2am, just before I go to sleep. Not fried food though, it’s always a jolly good spicy curry.
😂@@Mr_Boaty
Yes never eat after 6, pm if can help it. 🫄🫃 Digestive issues if l8.
If I eat anything after 7pm, my evening is ruined.
Sean your antics in the kitchen are priceless! Very impressed though at your multi tasking while carrying on a conversation. Not sure if your trainer meant eating at midnight but you do what you want to do and enjoy doing it. Thanks for making me laugh. Have a nice day.
He is funny - "I need to squeeze past you - breathe in." Ha ha
@@marybazargani6929Plus you don't want to lose your sausage in the crack🤣🤣 He keeps a straight face too 😂😂
Sean. Did I just watch you pour grease in your sink? My suggestion is to have a grease jar and pour all grease into it. When full, place it in your garbage bin. Grease will accumulate and eventually clog your plumbing. A problem you want to avoid.
I think he poured it into water so it doesn’t completely congeal. That said, I agree. IF you have been pouring grease down the pipes there is a solution. They make enzymatic cleaners just for this purpose. Not sure what they call it in the UK but here one brand is Green Gobblers. They work quite well from my experience.
put a piece of foil in a bowl and pour the grease in it. once it cools, ball it up and toss.
Put our for the birds @@lovechangesus
An air fryer is perfect for those sweet potato slices/chips and sausages - and the best bit is only one cooking utensil is needed. Also very power efficient cooking machines compared to ovens!
You could slide your shed next to the fence by the river and install a used sliding glass door with a bug screen....it could even be an add on bump out section like a covered porch..if you made it in sections it could be moved if needed...with a sturdy frame inside to hang up a rope hammock, that you could fold away when not in use. Maybe a little fold down table with a prop under it, for tea......Ahhh a nap by the riverside...Oh what a beautiful spot.
I spewed my tea when said don’t lose your sausage in the crack. 😂
I'm sorry but you've just made me howl...
Firstly mentioning someone you follow but not remembering their name and the sausage mishap!! Hilarious!!
My daughter came hurtling out of the kitchen thinking I was shouting her because I laughed so loud 🤣👍
On a sensible note don't forget about your bananas 😊
Thanks for another great video 👍
That’s what life is all about, let’s have a laugh. 😹
"Where's my peeler? can anyone see it" I'm here shouting " It's behind you" watching you cooking is so entertaining 🤣 Rusty Homestead is purrfect 🙂
Please think about getting a tracker on your cats if you are taking them to the homestead just in case they panic and wander off. My cat has had one for a year now since he got hit by a car. I still wanted him to live his best life but monitor his movements
Yes I will when we start going to the homestead. I found out yesterday that a new law is coming in that all cats must chipped. Mine already have it.
@@cleopatra5682getting pets chipped isn’t stupid. Injured, lost or stolen pets can be quickly and easily identified and reunited with their owners.
Perhaps a catio for the cat adventure. Perhaps a leash and harness. Otherwise, you will be spending your entire time tracking cats, etc. It's best to keep the cats at home. 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ 🐱
@@cleopatra5682 no it’s not, it will save people a lot of time and money. Plus it’s in the best interest of the cats. Animals have rights in law too.
@@kasandrabrown8611 I nearly said after his last video showing the land, he could take them there & have them on a lead until they get used to it there, but thought I'd get a load of grief about having cats on a lead etc. Plus I thought he might not want to do that🤔 They will soon get used to it & would love going there & sitting in the sun while Sean tends his fruit & veg (oo-er😳😂)
It's a small world The Chateau Diaries is the first vlog I subscribed to almost 4 years ago.
I don't comment very much at all but watch all the videos, Sean, and i find them comforting and inspiring in this crazy world. Thank you for all your efforts. ❤
The bananas look perfect for banana bread.
make some banana bread.. yummy
Or biscuits, just mash and mix with porridge oats and bake. Too high carbs for me just now as on carnivore diet to lose a little weight but they taste lovely.
Sean, I would forget my name before i would forget to eat
I love the name Rusty Homestead what a great suggestion. It's going to be lovely Sean. You could make an Orchard which your chickens would love when you get them and maybe house your chickens within it. Can't wait to see what you do with the place x
I use what are called salad plates, instead of the full size dinner plates. By the way dont pour grease down your sink. It will cause it to stop up. Then you'll have a plumbing bill. Here in the USA plumbers are expensive. Like the name Rusty Homestead.
I pour any cooking grease in a bowl and put it in the fridge . The solidified fat / lard fries a lovely egg. The lard can alsi be used to make fat balls and oats for the birds in the winter. Solidified the fat can go straight in the food re-recycling if the above is not to taste.
I cut potatoes and carrots into roast size pieces, quarter some onion, toss them all in a little bit of oil and season them and lay them on an oven tray lined with baking paper.. I lay my sausages on the tray with the veg, and cook them in the oven at 180degC for 30-40 minutes depending on the size and how chilled they are going in. One dirty tray but cleanup is simple thanks to the baking paper.
And I just saw you have the same little tea diffuser that I use. They're brilliant.
@@celticdollface Yes, I throw whatever veges I have in with the others. I love capsicum thrown in too. It's such a versatile and simple meal and everything cooks together.
You could turn that
spare room, the one you haven't tackled yet into a nice fitness room! Then you could get a nice compact Smith machine or some weights and some other bits
like a yoga mat to make a really nice year round fitness/yoga/ medataion place. A home serenity and health gym sorta thing!
I am thinking that then save money going to the gym.
Sean you should add your milk to you mug after you have taken tea or teabag out. the mik stops the tea from brewing properly.
Stephanie's channel is Chateau Diaries. I once ate on a smaller plate for several weeks and lost 5 or 6 pounds.
Hi Sean
You could always shape your sausages and make them flat on 4 sides ...also you could put them into the oven with the sweet potatoes..save fuel ..
A air fryer would save you a lot of money as you can cook everything it it and altogether....
Hugs to you
The fir trees on my property cast deep, cold shade all year. Even grass wont grow around them.
When you go out of your back door to the left I think you were thinking of putting a shed at one time what if you did and put a larger upright freezer in it ready for you fruit and veg when it all grows
I'm not very good at frying sausages, i always put them in the oven. I love roasted sweet potatoes and carrots too♥️. Great name for the homestead👍. A friend of mine moved to Wales and learnt Welsh before she moved, personally i feel too old and can't even speak English properly lol. Chickens will clear the land for you. A elderly friend of mine, when he first moved to NOrfolk forty years ago he only planted with plants that would produce fruit and berries. He had a wonderful hedge where the birds would swoop and nest and stay safe.🤗
you can get a sump pump and a portable solar generator and pump water from the stream to the garden
Wow that's a lot of peas for one person!
first thing that popped into my head when you said youve bought something and its made from plastic is the dangly hanging curtain strips that were used to hang from door frames, we has some they were multicoloured strips... will wait and see
I was right 😊
The Chateau Diaries, I watch it too - it's my guilty pleasure. The smallest thing seems to make her happy.
I love those programmes as well. Stephanie is quite some lady .
@@margaretg7861 She is and the little dog is adorable.
to find a smaller plate, go down to that lovely recycle shop - Waste Not?- I'm sure they'll have something lovely.
Aw Rusty homestead ❤ what a lovely idea, brought a tear to my eye ❤️❤️
Loving your vlogs, it’s great how you make us feel like we are in the kitchen with you. So funny the missing peeler. Thanks for doing this in your busy life. So uplifting🐞
It’s bigger than I thought seeing the map put it more into perspective 😂 thank you for explaining 👍
I have heard that if you need to eat after 8 pm cereal, yoghurt and berries are the go.
Sweet potatoes cooked like this is nice with a sprinkle of chopped rosemary just before the end of cooking. I was watching how you added your sausages to the cold pan then the oil, instead put your pan on the heat add very little oil to the pan you will notice it expands and then the oil from the sausage will be plenty enough. I pour the excess oil out in a small container then in the bin cooking oil from frying meat can often be added to the compost. A very secure compost bin where no rats can get to. Exercise is always great for the body specially leg and arms movement that we do not do naturally, I call such pain good pain. Have been to Temby very nice. Great idea about the plate that is what I do I have missed a few of your video because I was doing a bit more of my study of the Soil Food Web. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Sean! Funny you should mention Tenby. A little slide show popped up on my phone yesterday to remind me that 5 years ago this weekend I was visiting Pembroke Castle and walking a part of the Wales coastal path. It was bittersweet, because I haven’t been back to the UK since. I walked a short portion between the Green Bridge and St. Govan’s Chapel. You can take one of the little coastal buses, get dropped off at one point, and picked up at another. I highly recommend it. The views are stunning. Good for the body and the soul!
I've been trying to learn Welsh via Duoingo and have found as you go along all you end up learning is about Owen and how much he loves pannas (parsnips). As you continue, the more invested you get in Owen's story. Last I heard, the dragon ate Owen and then went to Cardiff. 😂.
😂😂😂
Christmas in NYC. Magical. Lots of people, but that’s ok. So much to see. I hope to make it back there to experience the holiday again.
I use to go to NY every Christmas time. It's fablous. You just have to be more careful now. I stay out of Boston too. I hope you can go.
Christmas time in New York is really magical Sean , you gotta go if you can ❤❤
Going to New York at Christmas time is incredible! It’s everything I hoped it would be from growing up watching American movies.
Aye there's mink in the village, and gold in them thar hills ! Be good to keep things out...Also it'd be great to keep the chickens in ! ;-) If I didn't learn welsh as a kid when I lived there, I don't know as I'd bother now...time is short... But seriously, the best thing you could buy would be a one cup kettle...save you millions of pounds....
Good Intentions......The mink were rescued and released way back and subsequently devastated the water voles and other indigenous species. I wonder if those responsible now think it was still such a great idea. By the way Sean, concerning garden planning, I had 6mtr high leylandii removed when I moved in and then found I had to become a gardener iof sorts. So half became The Orchard with some raised beds made of decking and the other half became The Wild Flower Meadow (or The Weedpatch as my neighbours call it ;-) ) It's only about half the size of your plot but now easily manageable and nicely quirky. Don't forget the pond. Mine is the old cold water tank from the roof with some aerating weeds. Just seen a frog dive in ;-)
Hmmmm from the 1970’s, lava lamp? Christmas in NYC is awesome!
Your food always looks good Sean.
But i wouldn't eat after 6.
But you are free to do what ever you want.
😊.
I did think your cats would like it on the homestead.
But personally i would be worried they might try and find there way home.
Hope you are enjoying this lovely weather today.before the rain comes.
Thank you I enjoy watching your videos and you eat when you want too enjoy 🙏😘
I went out at 3am Friday night and got some pretty pictures here in the U.S., way down south in Kentucky. Wish I had driven out into the countryside now.
I think you would find an air fryer so useful. Quicker, cleaner and cheaper to use
I’ve gone into this in previous videos. I don’t like what I read about the health issues associated with them so will never have one.
make sure have a good chickeb coop cause there is a fox i see early mornng between 3 and 4am and im down the road
I'm always losing my mushrooms down the crack!😆
From a Master Plumber's wife...No grease down the plumbing! It hardens then you'll pay a pretty price to have it unclogged...just a suggestion. Use a disposable can with a lid and store under the kitchen sink...keep until full then on trash day, throw away.
hugs
Donna
Hi Sean re your fence.I have a couple of mates here in Cornwall who have had there veg crops and fruit trees destroyed by Deer.
Perhaps you could form a fence with some of the builders fencing you have on your homestead this would form a barrier and allow you the view. You have will have no problem finding water !!!!!
"The Chateau Diaries", I watch it too! Love it. Christmas in NYC can be fun, the high visibility attractions are crowded (like the tree at Rockefeller Center) but if you don't mind crowds, it can be fun. A few recommendations I'd make: Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the Neapolitan Creche Christmas tree (it's beautiful), The Christmas spectacular at Radio City, the Christmas markets scattered around town, a stroll along Fifth Avenue between Rockefeller Center and 59th St., Lincoln Square.
The meal looked delicious Sean. I’m so pleased to find another Pea eater. I love them. Lovely video ❤
Good Sunday morning Sean.
The Aurora causes a geometric storm and apparently could cause a degraded service from the satellites, so I read. I think that is a lovely tribute to the name of the homestead Sean. I stayed in Tenby a week ago, first time ever, it is beautiful you will love it. Near where i grew up, they would hang glide off the Blorenge mountain, still do as far as i know. Have a good week!!
I think calling your homestead, Rusty Homestead is a lovely idea. About the fence by the riverbank you could always put a large gate in with a padlock. Yo made me laugh about learning Welsh, how often do you talk to a dragon in Wales. You have to catch one first, the only dragon I have every seen is on a flag😅. I hope you manage to have your holiday later in the year. You deserve a break, you have had a busy year.
We're having them down in NZ too but the weather is crook tonight so that be that...also we saw Starlink wizzing by through the pretty colors as well so quite spectacular photos been had...
You can refrigerate nuts in air tight jars for up to 6 months . You can also freeze them if you want in a freezer safe air tight container for up to s year. It will prolong their life and avoid them going rancid.
Yay! Learn Welsh! You will be the whole package!
I don’t think I would use that cooker at all. Probably very uneconomical. The cheapest way I have found to cook is via the microwave. Very healthy also. I would buy a one ring induction hob and put on top of cooker. I use an instant pot and a Remoska for all my cooking. I did have a cheap air fryer which was good but the control knob fell off!
We all have to do what works for us but tempted to shout out to my iPad - ditch that cooker!
Sean, the colours were spectacular here, right down to the tip of South Africa 🇿🇦. I noticed one of the comments here advising you to put your nuts into the freezer, this I would imagine could be quite painful 😅 ! Your bananas are turning into mush, use them to bake a cake 🎂 love your show, new subscriber ❤
I've always left my nuts out and I've never had a problem so there they will stay.
@@seanjamescameron there you go, totally agree 👍 enjoy your Sunday...
😂😂😂
Frozen nuts and his banana turning to mush, this comment got a bit personal! 😂😂
I cut my sausages down the middle so they cook more evenly and easier to turn, they end up with a bit of a crisp too❤, love the name Rusty Homestead, you are so lucky to live where you are, looks magical
What made you think and want to do TH-cam videos?? It's very time consuming...I agree..love your humour and all cups of tea.😂
Sean , 20 squats, 20 sit ups , and 20 pushups a few times a day just keep at it , consistency is the key. Start with 10 or 5 if twenty is to much. You will enjoy those sausages so much more after a workout haha.😅
I feel privileged to have (totally unexpectedly) seen the Northern Lights from a Boeing 757, somewhere above Iceland, on a work trip to the US paid for by my company. Just before last Christmas, I was in Hartlepool UK, and the late evening sky was even more impressive - a rare phenomenon known as Nacreous Clouds.
With pine trees you can make pine needle tea.
Hi Sean , for acid reflex take a level teaspoon of bicarbonate of sofa in a small glass of water , it work’s quick just like a charm . With one or two healthy burps . We got a good light show with the solar flares on Friday, nothing Saturday. Good luck with your training.
im guessing multi-coloured plastic strip door curtain, remember my grandparents having them on the back door
I come from Boston MASSACHUSETTS and its hard for me to say nice things about New York ( all our sport teams are extensive rivals 😂), however, New York is the biggest, magical place around Christmas. The crowds are huge, though. Tons of tourists. The lights and displays are always worth the trip.
charity shops are the best place to go for plates!
You are correct, there is massive solar storms going on at the moment, record breaking even
Have a lovely Sunday Sean love the name Rusty Homestead 😊
Square sausages? Sounds like a great idea, makes me wish they were all square.
You heard it here first.
Hi Sean.Nice video,again.I not saw in your shopping list,or your menu..yogurt, kefir....you need them for s good diet.Have a nice weekend,Violeta
I eat three meals a day but dinner is no later than 6 pm. I always put my raw potatoes in water, bring to the boil and simmer but don't completely cook, drain, put oil on and then put in oven, don't take so long to cook through. I do this with chips before I put them in the air fryer as well. Hope this helps xx
Looks like someone is going to make banana pancakes, bread, and muffins soon. lol.
As a dual citizen who has been to NYC at Christmas, the answer is YES-go!!!! I got to see the gorgeous Rockettes. I tried out all the coffee shops and the vibe was lovely. Dress nice and warm. Take a waterproof coat, just in case. But if the old company has already told you to come by, then you really must do! I love visiting NYC. I don't know if I would live there. I think I would if I could get a huge loft and redo it myself. My husband is a musician and he would thrive with all his love of Jazz and so many styles of music. And me? I am a pioneer girl and I love people and places and the wondrous architecture of new places. Also, good on you for getting your coach, changing up your diet and really focusing on the change! You are literally manifesting 2024, how about that? YOU can do this and it will be brilliant. Perhaps you will write all about it! Cheers and enjoy your weekend.
The sun sure was hot here today even though it was only 81F.
I'm curious about what your trainer will say about nutrition. I have a ladyfriend with a trainer to gain muscle to deal with her disabled grown-up son, and just added a protein supplement as she doesn't eat enough protein I guess. I can't afford a trainer but exercise is free. I was sanding the top part of my door and fixed the problem with my left shoulder by just using it at a different angle for a while. Love the name of your homestead.
You will love Tenby, its a beautiful place. 🤗
Could do with a few more peas Sean I can still see the plate 😃
Today is August 9 and we are having giant solar flares they say it’ll affect the grid in some parts of the state. I mean Oklahoma. I love to watch you. I watch you every day sometimes I watch them over and over again just because since I’m a widow, listening to a man, talk and explain things is nice and how you get along alone and have good food and good house and a wonderful garden. I think it’s just wonderful. Good luck.🏡👍🌷🌼☕️🫖
Definitely don't lose your sausage down a crack! Sean, can you tell me what cameras you are using on the Rusty Homestead, and what's the app you use to see them live?

You have impressive potato-pealing skills. I am jealous. The mince pies, I love them, but same after-effect.
My sister went to Iceland for the lights and didn’t see them and she was sick the whole trip. Expensive trip.
Sean, I've been looking for smaller plates too. They seem to be too big or too small. Maybe an old pub will have some as I remember the thicker small plates they had. Also the recycle places may have some. Good luck with finding some. Cheers Susan
Stephanie Jarvis engaged to Philip Jenson. Their yt chanel is called Chateau Diaries. I binged watched a few years ago, love the chanel... And all their plates😀
Sean have you thought of a Air Fryer and a Induction Hob it will be far cheaper than the hob and oven you have well worth it
I looked into air fryers but didn't like what I read about health related issues.
“the process of air frying does result in the formation of certain compounds, like acrylamide, that are linked to cancer development. Acrylamide is classified as a probable human carcinogen.”

Good to see a video this morning. A lovely surprise. Am wondering if keeping chickens and bees in the future might be a problem when you go away or not feeling well.
