The Seneca Valley "Raider" Marching Band is an extra-curricular ensemble at the Seneca Valley School District. The Marching Band is comprised of volunteer students who are a part of the curricular band program. The 9-12 curricular band program consists of three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, and private lessons. The "Raider" band has always been awarded Superior Ratings in every adjudication and competition for over forty years. In 2018, the "Raider" band was awarded the Grand Champion trophy along with specialty awards; Best Music and Best Marching at the Virginia International Music Festival in Norfolk, VA. In 2017, the "Raider" band was awarded the Grand Champion/Best Band Trophy at the Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2016, the "Raider" band traveled to Disney World and was honored to kick off the evening "Electric Light Character Parade". In 2015 the "Raider" band participated in The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C. Additional parades over the past decade have included: The Citrus Bowl Parade (Orlando, FL), Autumn Leaf Festival Parade (Clarion, PA), Grove City Homecoming Parade (Grove City, PA), Disney Magic Kingdom Parade (Orlando, FL), and numerous local and adjudication festival parades. This spring (2019) the "Raider" Band will once again march in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C.
