  • China's westernmost Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious region. It's difficult enough to understand its complexity to begin with and Western propaganda didn't make things any easier. CGTN has traveled to the heart of Xinjiang and busted four myths manufactured by Western media regarding Xinjiang and the so-called "re-education camps."

True, besides, mega genocide of indigenous Native Americans, and their population in Continents of America 500 yrs ago was around 15 millions, while European population in Europe was around 20 millions.Today, Natives population at 15 million, while European population, in Continents of America + Europe, at a staggering 'ONE BILLION'! Imagine this scenario, if Native American people cross the Atlantic, invade and Colonize Europe, and slaughter most Europeans, and put the remaining populations in tiny reservations, for 500 long years. How would Europeans feel about it? Think about it. All they need is their beloved motherlands back, the lands that their ancestors forebears had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all for generations. Besides, indigenous Native Americans in Colonized lands of Anglo British, Spaniard and others are more of the same. Kill the indigenous Natives and whoever is left, marginalize them and create artificial poverty, once that poverty becomes crime and drinking, the media points to the poor and blames them to continue to stigmatize the 'other' community, scumbags, etc. Amazing fact that Indigenous Natives had built such great civilizations as Mayan, Inca and Aztec without outside help, and all from the scratch, and all on their own, since they had been cut off from the rest of the world for ten of thousand of years. In other words, they actually are great and proud people. Imagine what would it be like today if Native Americans had possessed some sort of nuclear weapons to defend themselves, and their beloved motherlands from invaders Colonizers? The answer is they would still have their own beloved motherlands, plus their population comparable to that of European population. In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. Remember, notorious global cardinal crime like Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this another notorious Colonization still lingering on? @@bigreba Like I said, Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization are evil things done by evildoers. Moreover, what do Slavery, Colonization, Colonialism, Capitalism, and Imperialism (that The West has practice now and then), have all in common? Because all these tremendously benefit The West. For instance, as in any sports and games one plays, if you are ahead of the game, that you found yourself in a much stronger position, and the others are weaker than you are; then what do you do? Would you play Offensive or Defensive game? Of course, you play Offensive game. That's exactly The West has been doing, playing Offensive game that benefit them the most out of the rest of the poor world, through 'Slavery, Colonization, Colonialism, Capitalism, and Imperialism'. Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization are all evil things done by evildoers. Moreover, I'm curious the fact that Christian Europeans, especially the Anglo West, which is, 'forever the jury, the judge and the policeman of the world' as well as self-acclaimed protector of human rights, has any laws at all for dealing with past and present notorious global cardinal crimes such as Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization of vast bountiful resourceful Continents and landmass, such as North and South America to Australia/New Zealand to Siberia/Far-East? As an educated Chinese, I listened to both the Chinese and Western side and my conclusion is that everyone is safeguarding their own interest. Probably none of their claims are 100% true (even video clips and interviews from both sides can be made up) but the Western ones are def no less propaganda than the Chinese ones. Esp in the context of terrorist attacks in Xinjiang, those attackers can be labelled "terrorists" or "freedom fighters" depending on where you are coming from. Comparing the "camps" in Xinjiang to "concentration camps" of the Nazis only shows ignorance of history, but of course, they might be more than re-education centers. People believe in what they want to believe in and that is just human nature. The reality might be somewhere in between, and it is important to understand the different motives behind.

@@hcr32slider I have some criticism of this claim that Africans in China are being blamed for the virus, i have researched into the topic and have found out that alot of these videos/photos weren't even taken in China or during the pandemic, a popular video showing an African getting beaten by "chinese" in the streets wasn't even taken in China or during the pandemic, the origins can be traced back all the way to 2016 or even further back of Malaysians i believe beating a thief in public. Another video showing a supposed Asian group fighting against an African group was found out to be a street fight in New York. Don't say "rounded up", you make it seem like this is a nationwide program taking place in china, now the story of Africans being kicked out of their homes in china can be traced to a couple of Africans in Guangzhou getting evicted because they were in the country illegally and were fugitives in China, their visa status as visitors were expired and so had to leave, although I disagree with this action I think this was the most appropriate step for a governing body to take since in the US they would send in ICE or a swat team. Hopefully this clears up this misconception that Africans in China are getting kicked out of their homes by China, it is important to also note that China has good relations with African countries, the Chinese Ambassador assured Kenya of the safety of its citizens, saying China has zero tolerance for discrimination of foreigners but that also that Africans in China have to follow the laws. Also think about it, the story of China blaming Africans doesn't make sense since China has good relations with africa and why would they just blame Africans? And also why is Africa first in line to get vaccines from China? There is alot of questions when these kinds of stories come up, western media always tries to paint China as this evil dictatorships who prosecutes and kills people for no reason, its important that when these stories do come up don't just believe everything the media says about it, importantly if its about China or American enemies

    1. Uighurs in China ( as well as other ethnic minorities of China ) enjoy free education for 12 years, free healthcare, free from any taxes, free from the 2 child policy and they even get extra points in the exams to enter the university.
    2. Xinjiang"s life expectancy increased from around 30 in 1949 to around 73 years old, nowadays. The Uighur"s population in China is doubled from the last decades, reaching more than 12 million people.
    3. Before the existence of re-education schools in XinJiang, XiNjiang was one of the most dangerous places in Asia ( like HK before the implementation of the HK Security Law ). Most Uighurs in China are living very well except for ter(ror)ists ( Islamic extremists ). China prefers to re-educate terr(oris)ts instead of jailing them as most western countries do. Instead, the US prefers to invade countries such as Afghanistan to solve terr(oris)m. See the difference?
    4. China has 39000 mosques compared to the 2100 the US has. Even per capita, China has more mosques than most western countries and 3x that of the US by muslims.
    5. Only around 22 western non-islamic hypocrit countries criticize China for the measures taken on Uighurs. 54 countries ( most of them muslim majority countries ) support China measures in Xinjiang. Only Turkey ( member of NATO and supporter of Xinjiang independence, I mean they literally claim Xinjiang as part of Turkey, they call Xinjiang " East Turkestan ") condemns China.

Read the comments and you know why we Chinese say people 没素质,and unfortunately mainland not only exports a 没素质 culture, it is also exporting a "Love the Communism China, Hate the first world countries" culture.
I believe many of the comments here are sponsored by Communism Chinese government and therefore does not have any validities, yet unfortunately TH-cam is not able to detect them.

I stayed in the youth hostel next to the Aidi Gaer Mosque for a month and a half, and countless Muslims worship in this square every Friday. I also ate at a fried chicken restaurant in the context of this interview. Apart from strict security checks, there is not much difference here. In addition, most of Kashgar is Uyghur, and the popularity of Chinese is relatively poor. I took two Korean friends here to communicate with the locals, looking at a loss. The enthusiastic Uyghur uncle who was working in the car told me, don’t get us wrong, we are also very embarrassed (due to the Urumqi 75 incident, etc.), and his child greeted me in Uyghur.

Hope my Muslim brothers and sisters don't fall into the same trap again. The same people that has used the gullibles among us to get rid of Saddam and Gaddafi who refused to be their stooges any longer, to destabilised and plunder the oil rich Mid East, to break up Yugoslavia and also cause trouble in Chechnya and Dagestan in their effort to bleed Russia. Way before that, they used the Taliban to bleed the Soviet Union (USSR), to give USSR it's own Vietnam. Once that was achieved and Soviet collapse, they cut ties/get rid of Taliban, smearing them and branding them terrorists. But they failed to break up Dagestan and Chechnya from Russia. In Syria, they throw all sorts of lies to get Assad out. They stage chemical attack through their minions (the White Helmets) and blame it on Assad. This follows the same tactic they use to legitimise Iraq invasion (the WMD lies). And now whistleblowers from OPCW (Organization for Prevention of Chemical Warfare) have come out to claim those chemical attack never took place, it was simply a lie, just like those Iraq WMD claims. Yet at the height of their propaganda, all sorts of fake videos, testimony and images were spread and disseminated to get people to believe Assad launch a chemical attack against his own people, oppressive, etc. They fail to plant a dagger into China using the gullibles among Hong Kong youth, and now they want to use the gullibles among us to do their dirty work against China. Don't be taken for a ride. Remember what happen to those who took them for allies: once they are no longer useful, they were discarded, either killed, silenced or turned into persona non grata and left to fend for themselves. They never fight using their own people or on their own homeland, instead they get others to fight and die for them. Saddam, Gaddafi, Assad, Taliban, Al-Qaeda, the Kurdish forces and countless other jihadist groups all used to be their allies. But look what happen to them once they stop following orders, refuse to bow down, wants independence, and/or are no longer useful: they are either killed/hanged, branded dictator/terrorist, and so on. Also, remember that WMD claim which form the basis for the so called 'War on Terror'. Turns out it's a lie and they don't even bother to apologise. Yet millions die because of that bogus war. But look what happen to Chechnya and Dagestan today. Both have become stable regions, their socio-economic condition improve, they even produce world class champion like Khabib. While Albania and Kosovo which was once part of Yugoslavia, has become no man's lands. Everyone wants to get out, either because of corruption, poverty or institutional collapse. Same with Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. China isn't Myanmar, where millions of Rohingya Muslims wanted to escape from due to the real persecution that's happening there. Hence we see the symptoms of those persecution: millions of Rohingya refugees stranded in Bangladesh and the neighbouring countries. But with China, we don't see that flow of Chinese Muslims refugees out of China. Wake up and learn from history.

Don't you mention about the arm supplies they provide towards Saudi governments and the subsequent use of those weapons in the war against the innocent Yemeni population which resulted in a huge humanitarian crisis and refugees outflow from Yemen.

There's no doubt that the 1-2 million number is based off of dubious investigations by US interest groups. HOWEVER, for so many testimonials to come out (there are way more than 8) this issue is worth looking into. There needs to be an objective international investigation into this and China needs to let this happen. Not allowing this to happen makes things look suspicious. What should be noted is that as Xinjiang has lots of resources, and it is an autonomous region in China. It is also the place where America funds terrorist groups, mostly Islamic fundamentalists. This is why China has put up such an extensive security apparatus there, to avoid getting mcnuked by angry American funded Islamists. These centers are there to "re-educate", not unlike the ones in Sweden teaching Middle Eastern immigrants how to respect women in this society because cases of rape rose when they moved to Sweden. It's all security measures taken to stop terrorists, a bit like what the US does. What should also be noted is that Islamic fundamentalist nations, such as Saudi Arabia or Iran, don't believe there is a genocide in Xinjiang. As we all know, Saudi Arabia is US aligned, but despite this it does not claim that what China is doing is a genocide. These people return to their communities, still very much Muslim, but now they don't want to create a Taliban-esque nation. The reason why the demographics have shifted is because as the economy grew, Han Chinese people started going to Xinjiang's growing economy to work in new jobs which opened up, which were mostly manufacturing jobs like mining or engineering. This has resulted in a demographic change, but this isn't a replacement, just like how just because immigrants are immigrating to your nation doesn't mean you're being replaced.
China's social credit system also isn't on a national scale, instead it's being tested on a local level by a few local authorities, although they are trying to make it that way, it's not going to happen in the near future. This system mostly targets companies, and was made to address local corruption by companies. The Social credit system also won't result in you getting murdered if you go into the negatives. Rather, your internet will be slowed and you won't be able to fly(these are the punishments for individuals), but this very rarely happens to individuals. At the moment, your score in these certain local areas are only dropped because of serious crimes committed, but you'll be too worried about jail time to care that you have a slower internet, but don't worry, your lawyer will have fast internet to access the documents he needs to help you defend yourself in court!
My view of China is that while it's a more better force than the USA, it still does have its flaws. For example, thousands are executed yearly in China, the highest in the world. While it has a relatively low prison population, (even when adding everyone in the re-education centers onto the list), this doesn't excuse China having 46 different crimes punishable by death. It also doesn't excuse China cracking down on trans people(what China calls feminine boys), trying to stomp out their voices. It also doesn't excuse China having "White Monkeys" do jigs, just like Black people who were locked up in human zoos in America. It doesn't excuse the child labour, or the slavery problem. While China is on the clear on race and religion, and mostly clear on sexuality, it is not in the clear in terms of gender. However, there is progress being made. Gay people are starting to get more rights and visibility, and China is alleviating poverty and cracking down on slavery. It even put a cap on how many hours a day a person in China can work(8 hours per day). So in Conclusion, while China is better than the USA, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows

I am just laughing and I am also extremely worried about the people who got brainwashed by western media. Shame that they can't go to China and visit some people .
