theres no need to connect the charger on the phone just press power key + volume down to force restart then seconds after you see the Samsung logo you said quickly press the power key + volume up key

The power cable is the way to get it shutdown. However, it fails to go into the menu. Having the up vol key on causes the phone to reboot instead of go into the window. I have done this dozens of times with other Samsung models and this is not working. I think there maybe a hardware change within the version. There are multiple sites saying you can only fix this with a PUK code.

Yes that reset does work this phone has a bad internal antenna has been admitted by the company and T-Mobile it's best to get another phone different model
