I don't know for sure. I will once we put up the tree. It's really up to you. I think mine is 2 1/2" or so, almost square. Of course, . As long as the printout is the exact height of the finished inside dimension of the duct, it will look OK. In reality, the duct was more rectangular in the movie than mine, so you can just choose what looks best to you. The issue is, though, that you will print out a screen cap of the movie that is rectangular. Once you curve it, it's only going to fill a squarish duct. But, mine turned out great, I think. My wife does not share my opinion.
